Correct me if I'm wrong (I am new to all this) but if the FDA get their way then anything made after 2007 will become illegal and no longer available, is that right?

Now even the highest end electronic devices will fail eventually, especially if used all day every day, so with that in mind would a mechanical mod not be a better long term solution?

That is a legitamate point. Parts should always be available for the mechanical mods somewhere.

The Vamo is always a good choice as well
http://www.vaporbeast.com/product_p/sk44.htm The only reason I keep recommending this vendor is because I have never had a problem with him EVER. Just recently something with wrong with one of my items and he replaced it no questions asked

This vendor also has the vamo but it is not the starter kit... Great vendor
OKC Vapes - Oklahoma's Premier Supplier of Electronic Cigarettes, E-Liquid, and Accessories!

Here is a box mod that gets a lot of hype here on ECF
Maxi Roughstack V2 Multi-voltage capable E cig mod

Here is a very simple mod here
Maxi Roughstack V2 Multi-voltage capable E cig mod

Been hearing a lot of commotion on this here as well
Joyetech eVic

These are all mods that most everyone here is posting. If you want something add to the collection and carry around when away from the house may I suggest some kind of eGo battery. These are very cheap, popular and reliable. I will list a few here

JOYE eGo E Cigarette
eGo Batteries

Be sure when getting an eGo battery that you also get an eGo charger as well Hope this helps T41CK

so the fda wants to stop e-cigs??????? why its so much better then cigarettes and with all the hype Obama raised about getting Americans off cigarette you would think they would support this

I don't think it has a whole lot to do with peoples health but more to do with big pharma and big tobacco worried that you will stop buying cigs/patches/gum/chantix etc

Well, concerning box mods:

Gripper-by-Smoktech.jpggripper-mod-smoktech-18350.jpg

The Smoktech Gripper is only $12.50 and very small, excellent if stealth vaping is ever an issue. SMOKtech 18350 GRIPPER Mechanical - Black Rubberized [gv-SMOKGripper18350-BLACK] - $12.50 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more
It uses an 18350 battery Batteries : AW IMR 18350 3.7V 700mAh rated for about 7-8 hours use, but extra batteries can be carried to last out a day. Any common XL length cartomizer can fit into the mod, so that only a drip tip extends from it. An extender can also be used to allow other juice carrying devices to be used on it like a clearomizer, cartotank or clearotank (vivi nova).

I just bought an Ovale/Segelei V8 Incremental VV Segelei V8 Incremental VV Body - Black Rubberized
this past weekend to replace a Smoktech variable voltage Gripper that I was using for out-and-about use that only lasted 7 weeks.

Comfort-gripped, rubberized finish. Variable voltage. LED display. Reads atomizer resistance and battery voltage. Has easy on-off, voltage up-down buttons. Light, easy to fit in front shirt or a coat pocket. A leather pouch/lanyard is available on the site. Only $29 w/o batteries. Uses 2 - 18350 imr nipple-top batteries which together should last at least 14 hours per charge. Batteries : AW IMR 18350 3.7V 700mAh.
_____

The above are all made of plastic, hense being less expensive than the metal tube mods. There are other box mods that are made of metal such as the Inokin MVP for around $80 which uses a internal nonreplaceable rechargeable battery.
