Hey all,

So I just wrapped up my first week of ecigs. Haven't had an analog in 8 days and couldn't care less. I honestly dont miss a thing about them either... sept maybe the break of going outside to smoke every hour, heh.

Anyway. Ive been perusing this site for a week or so now and Ive learned quite a bit from it, thank you all seasoned ecig peeps. However, because this place has soooo much info, its takes a bit of time to find all the info Id like, thus I still have a few questions.

First off, I currently have the 7-11 Xhale02. Yes, I know.... I should invest in a Joye 510 or something of the like, which I intend to do once I have more $. I bought it because... it was there and I was about to spend nearly the same on analogs.

It is my understanding that the Xhale02 is completely compatible/interchangeable with all 401 parts. Is this in fact the case?

Also, I have come to find that I am a dipper/dripper. It has worked for me so far, but in the long run, is this an acceptable method for this model (exposed atty type)? ie: will this actually fry the battery or burn out the atty faster?

About cleaning the atty. I personally dont completely understand this. I thought Id just do nothing, replace it when it dies and that would be that. Come to find... thats not a very economical or tasty choice. I do vape both Camel tobacco flavor AND fruit flavors on the same atty. Once the fruit flavors went on there tho, everything taste the same. Id like to get the most life as possible out of my atty, so whats a good method of cleaning it? Do I need to clean it every time I change flavors so as not to have residual flavors bleed through? Do most people switch attys depending on the flavor they are vaping?

I would normally (daily) blow on the battery end and dry burn the atty until it stopped smoking, but eventually it just kept smoking and took forever to diminish. I finally cleaned my atty last night, as it was tasting harsh. I boiled it in water, blew out as much water as possible and then stuck it in rice (to soak up the remaining water). It still doesn't work, but Im thinking it is not quit dry yet.

Are my two methods of cleaning this thing correct? If I dry burn it, will it ever taste new again, or will I always have to wash it at some point? Wont drying out the atty fry it? I am perhaps most confused about that part.

Im sure I have a ton more questions, but I'll get around to them later. Id mostly like to understand how to clean an Xhale02 atty and if they are in fact interchangeable with 401's

THANKS ALL!!!

Dripping will not do any harm whatsoever to your atomizer.

It should last long enough to not really be a big monetary concern, if you wish not to clean it.

The best cleaning method is the Highping method discussed in this thread...
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tips-tricks/69834-my-atty-resurrection-method.html

Do I need to clean it every time I change flavors so as not to have residual flavors bleed through?
Only if you want to.

I almost never do, and I change flavors at least a couple of times a day.
But if I have a very strong flavor, or one that doesn't mix well with the previous, I might.

It generally only takes a few drags to get to the new flavor.
And sometimes the mix of flavors in between provides some surprises.

Flavors I have found that are hard to get past...
--Menthol or mint
--Atomic Cinnacide
--Clove

I would normally (daily) blow on the battery end and dry burn the atty until it stopped smoking, but eventually it just kept smoking and took forever to diminish.
How often do you do this dry burn?

The smoke might be water getting burned off.
A dry burn normally isn't needed for a while under normal circumstances.

Using a stronger battery than stock would certainly speed things up.

I finally cleaned my atty last night, as it was tasting harsh.
Dry burning IS cleaning your atomizer, so I'm a bit confused with what you are saying.

I boiled it in water, blew out as much water as possible and then stuck it in rice (to soak up the remaining water). It still doesn't work, but Im thinking it is not quit dry yet.
Not drying an atomizer enough is a very common mistake.

Are my two methods of cleaning this thing correct? If I dry burn it, will it ever taste new again, or will I always have to wash it at some point?
Use the Highping method I linked to above.
It both cleans and washes the atomizer at the same time.

Wont drying out the atty fry it?
No, it won't fry the atomizer unless you let it get too hot.
And if you just have 3.7v batteries I seriously doubt that is an issue.

WOW, I was going to add to this, but it is HARD. DC2 is too smart for me.

If you like vaping, skip the 510 and get an eGo, it is a little fatter, but the increased battery life is WELL WORTH IT. It still used 510 ATTY, and carts though.

OR even go with an eGo + cartomizer combo. for all day no hassle vaping. Take an eGo battery off the charger put on a cartomizer, put one extra cartomizer in your pocket or purse, then put the cartomizers in the empty pile, and the eGo on the charger when you go to bed at night, and start it all over the next day.

Hey there,
Pretty new myself, but hopefully these links will help you a bit-
Here's an article that has helped me keep my attys going strong and cleaned out-
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tips-tricks/69834-my-atty-resurrection-method.html. It works great for any type atty, but is harder to do with automatic batteries. Do it whenever the flavor tastes off or when changing flavors. Many just use a different atty for each flavor, especially for strong flavors that are harder to remove. this link will address your dry burn question as well.

Apparently your model is indeed a 401 clone, as discussed here
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/m-401-402-mini-m403-super-mini/92635-401-liquid.html. However, all of the pieces are compatible with the real thing EXCEPT the carts- which will work only if you remove the foil first, but it won't wick well due to the length of the internal cart versus a normal atomizer bridge. Made just a little different to be annoying...

M401 is but one good vendor for this type

M401
is another! Good luck and welcome.

DC2, your links were exactly what I was lookin' for! Much appreciated! I dry burn pretty much nightly and I only boiled it because it still had a nasty burnt taste after lots and lots of dry burning and it still not tasting clean. I understand they are both cleaning methods tho. I intend to try Highping method next time around or maybe after my other atty dries, if it still taste bad that is.

Oettinger, yeah Ive had my eye on the eGo. I was way past the whole 'needs to look and feel like an analog' thing moments after my first ecig vape. heh. I will most likely go with an eGo once Ive saved a bit more. The good thing is, that will be much sooner since I no longer shell out $6 a day in analogs lol

Moshmarr, thanks a ton for confirming the 401 thing! Its of no matter to me that the carts dont fit, as Im a dripper with plenty of spare carts and when I do use carts, fill my own =)

THANKS all for the replies!

I have an idea what might be happening here.
I think the issue might be doing dry burns without actually washing the atomizer at any point.

Washing the atomizer gets the dried out juice out of the mesh that surrounds the coil.
Doing frequent dry burns without rinsing could be slowly baking that dried out juice onto the mesh.

Just a thought, but it is one thing that might explain your issue.
