Hi! I have been a smoker for 17 years. I turned 35 on the 27th of March vowing to quit using the patch. Did it work? NO A friend told me about the E-cigarettes and how much she LOVES them. I have been looking over my options of what I can buy. I am a bit confused and hope you guys can help me answer some questions. First of all is there a phone number to contact the business? Also I am almost a 2 pack a day smoker. How long does 1 cartridge last? What is the atomizer and how does it work with the cartridge? I don't need a charge but the wall charger and I want a case charger. Do the batteries cost alot and do you get them through the site or at the local store? As you can imagine I have lots more questions. I smoke menthol lights and have heard the mint is super strong. I don't care much for really sweet things but I would like to try something that is like menthol or cinnamon. I guess I really need to know is the super size deal the one for me? I read something here about liquid, is that were the flavor and nicotine come from? Then what is the cartridge really, just for the liquid? There is no tar or any of that other junk in tobacco in these? I really wish I had a phone number to call to ask them all these questions. Hoping someone here will be nice enough to help me out. I really want to try this but money is tight!

Thanks!
Brooke:rolleyes:

this is a very helpful guide that you should check out.

to answer some of your questions really quickly. Yes, the nicotine and flavor come from the liquid. the cartridge contains the liquid and hooks in to the atomizer. (some use cartomizers which is the two combined in one piece)

check out the reviews of suppliers to decide who to go through. Unfortunately, the opinions on which e-cig is the best is personal preference. I recommend the 510 with a PCC to start. I'm sure others will chime in with there preference. Good luck and welcome!

As another menthol light smoker I was really surprised at what flavor I like the most...Cinnamon. The only menthol ecig juice I like is from Cigparts.com I just ordered 7 other flavors yesterday so I'm trying to find a variety as some here have found. Some have all day vapes, night vapes, a beer vape, etc...
Good luck with your search, you have come to the fountain of knowledge all things ecig.

we are HOPING they won't kill us! we really don't know as yet.........

Well, at least I know they won't after one and half years, and cigarettes WERE killing me, Doctor is happy with blood pressure, lung capacity, blood work, all around happy campers, both docs... Cardiologist is thrilled... so take that for what it's worth.

I have been vaping for 1 1/2 years, but had a few glitches for a while, then a year ago, got totally off all tobacco.

MY ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY IS TOMORROW !

Good luck and I too recommend the 510 for a good starter unit... carts, flavors and vendors will all fall in to place depending on your preferences, but the best advice is to get a good starter kit with at least two atomizers and two batteries, maybe a PCC charging kit and some juice....

Like many of us, you may find out after a bit that you don't want what you like now, I certainly don't... I thought I wanted my PV to look, taste and feel like an analog, but not any longer, just the opposite.

Good luck and feel free to ask anything you want to know. There are great people here, sharing the joy of vaping !

HI Brooke, Welcome to ECF!
I think the best advice is to jump in and do it, I mean yes do find a good PV (510 is a great starter) and some juice you think you might like, but after you start vaping, you'll better understand what the whole "vaping" thing is about and you'll know what you need to make it doable for you. Then you can come back and say, "hey I got an 'xyz brand' and some 'xyz juice' but I want it to be more/less_____" and we can go from there. But don't wear yourself out deciding what to get because you won't really know what you need until you jump in and start. Good Luck! The odds are that whatever you get it will open a whole new set of doors for you that you didn't even know existed and you'll be happy either way.

Welcome Brooke. I saw you mentioned menthol or cinnamon. The Cowboy menthol from Vapor4life is ok. It does not taste like a cigarette though, I'm not sure any of them do. I smoked Marb menthol lights (pack a day) (Years). Then I tried Atomic Cinnacide, and Tasty Finger from Tasty Vapor. Both are really good. The Atomic Cinnacide however is really strong like a fresh piece of Big Red gum. Some describe it as red hots. I've been vaping for a month. I started out buying 5ml bottles. Finally took the chance with Tasty Vapor (he only sells the large bottles). I don't know, it's really a crap shoot on flavors, because every one has different taste. But good luck.

Hi Brooke, welcome to ECF. I agree completely with Rosa. Just jump in and give it a try -- that's the only way to know. I don't think after just a few hours of reading posts on the site you'll need or even want a phone number to talk to somebody. The members to this site are always willing to help a newbie. This website is HUGE. Read all the basic stickies first.

A prefilled cart doesn't last very long at all. When you place your order for a starter kit, make sure you also order at least two small bottles of eJuice for a fair amount as a trial.

The battery life for each smoking session doesn't last long either, so you'll need some kind of charger. AC charger is one you plug into the wall. USB charger is one you plug into your computer USB post. PCC carrying case is probably your most versatile bet, especially when you're out and about.

There is a mega battery which is pricier, but it won't fit into a standard PCC. (When you don't know what an abreviation is, place your cursor over the word, and a definition will pop up.)

Since your 'money is tight', you might want to order a Joye510 starter kit (which is your best bet, anyway) from cignot.com for $35. That includes 2 att, 2 bat, 5 prefilled carts, 1 AC charger. They also have the smaller 3ml and 4.5ml bottles of eJuice. Shipping is only $5. Also, you might want to also check out uTube. Search for e-cig or e-cigarette or electronic cigarette. There's a lot there.

Once last thing -- drink lots of water throughout the day, as your body will be detoxing from the absence of 2 packs of analogs a day. You don't have to go cold turkey, you can smoke analogs with your morning coffee and vape during the day, then a couple of analogs with your evening snifter of brandy. Hope this helps, I'm a newbie also.

WOW Thank you all so much for the very very useful information! Indeed I have come to the right place :) I had a link here that my friend sent me and thought it was the only place to buy from.
Vapor King Premium E-Cig Kits Vape On!
So it looks like there are other place to buy from that are cheaper. I was thinking of going all out and buy the Vapor King shown in the link above. I want it all so I once I started vaping I won't have to smoke regular cigarettes anymore if I can help it. I guess they are called analogs? Check this link out and see if you think there is a good deal on it or if there is another place as some of you mentioned to buy from that is better. The Vapor King seems to have everything and then more! Also what is this about different juice vg and pg? Which is better when you are switching from analogs. When you order juices do they ask if you want vg or pg?
Thanks everyone!

Automatic batteries turn on when you suck on them. Manuals, you have to push a button to turn on.

IMHO, the manuals are much better because you can take as long a draw as you want, while most autos cut you off after a few seconds. You will be used to the button before the end of the first day.

Thank you for clearing that up! So does this look like a good deal to anyone? Please let me know if you recommend one better. I want to get it ASAP!

This as all you need and more and my friend loves hers and the company. She does buy different cartridges from other places. Do they all pretty much fit the same thing. When I say cartridge what is that really, and the juices will go with any e-cig? What about the vg and pg? What is best?

I have this kit Brooke, the led light is what is on the end of the ecig ,pick the color you want it to be,
The pcc is the portable charging case. Keeps your battery charged when in your purse on the go,
Yes it has cartomizers that come with it, That is the part that you screw on to the battery that contains the nicotene and flavoring,
When they are empty DONT throw them away. They can be refilled with more liquid and reused a few times.
You will eventually have to buy more of them, I suggest getting some blank or unfilled cartridges and the liquid to fill them.
It is a good system and I personally love it.
I do have a 510 too , there is nothing wrong with it , it is just not my favorite for when I am on the go, It is a bit fiddly for me then
