New to forum and to e-cigs

Greetings!

I've smoked on and off since college. Just recently I decided to try e-cigarettes. I bought a "Jak" disposable for $5 at a local gas station a couple of weeks ago, and I loved it. Since then I've also purchased a Blu regular kit (not the premium or the 100's). I love the convenience of the form factor, and the menthol is decent. Not great, but decent. I've also purchased a couple of "EVOD" setups at a local head shop - manual batteries (not adjustable voltage), a couple different refillable mouthpiece thingies (not sure what they're exactly called; one is more or less disposable, the other has a replaceable atomizer), and a few different flavors of liquid.
I have done some research online, both here and at other sites, and it's all still kinda new to me.
I know many here don't seem to like the Blu line, but as I said, I do love the form factor. I am researching ways to reuse the cartomizers once they're empty, as well as find some empty/blank ones so I can fill my own from the get-go. I also love the "EVOD" setups - they hold more, batteries last longer, and they're easy to refill. I don't like the 'free' cases they came with (typical hardside zip cases with a couple of mesh pockets on the inside), so I'll be looking for a better case.
After reading somewhere here that the Volcano cartomizers are Blu-compatible, I ordered some blanks and will hopefully get them sometime next week. Also looking to buy some Boge 510 3-ohm blanks soon to try as well.
Anyhoo, thanks for reading, I'm sure I'll have questions and comments in the coming weeks.

Hello and Welcome Fuschia! Glad you joined us here at ECF. Sounds like you've found what you like and that's the biggest step there is. I prefer the longer battery life so I moved on from my cig-a-likes after about 2 1/2 months and went for the eGo 1000mAh. To each their own. Nobody will knock what a vaper uses as long as it works for them. Good luck to you and do keep us posted on how you're doing. By all means ask any questions you have, we're here for you! :vapor:

Hello Fushia!:)

Congratulations on finding a setup that works for you.

Welcome to ECF fuschia. Your journey is just beginning. Nothing wrong with Blu or anything else for that matter (if it keeps your from smoking), it's just many folks move on to other things. But there are those who are perfectly satisfied with cig-a-likes (Blu, V2, Etc.). Congrats on seeking to change your life.

I'm liking it so far! The Blu is just so darn cute! My other two will last for a few days between charges. I'm guessing 650mAh. No idea what the brands are - I bought them at the local head shop. One says 'EVOD' on it, and has a blue light around the pushbutton. No light on the bottom. The other one has a green light around the pushbutton and on the bottom, and the button light will flash yellow or red as it runs out of power. I have three 1.5ml refillable clearomizers (was told these are somewhat disposable), and two other things that are also refillable but have replaceable coils on the bottom. These hold 2.0ml. And, of course, my beloved Blu toy cigarettes! I've seen a few videos on YouTube showing how to clean and refill the Blu cartomizers, so I'm hoping I'll be able to get some decent use out of them with proper care. I love the idea of having a pack with 4 different swappable 'flavors' ready! I have several different 'flavors' of e-juice, and have just ordered another 5. The current ones are 18mg level, and the new ones I've ordered are all low nicotine (can't remember what exactly - it was one step above NONE).

Many of us started with blu but realized the convinient size had drawbacks such as short battery life. I also know alot have gotten bad cartos or in my case whole junk pcc. I have to, admit even though I have moved on to some big stuff like mechs, provari and a vtr I am tempted to try a eroll everytime I see one lol. If you like them annd they are working thats all that matters. I do have to admit it was their cherry flavor that convinced me to try so many more flavors.

Just got some syringes, gonna experiment on refilling some Blu cartos later. I am somewhat addicted to ELuminate creamy strawberry!
That's just what I did when I started in June of this year (just a month ago). I got a great deal online on some Fin e-cigs (kinda like Blu), in menthol, and it worked to get me to quit the real things, which is AWESOME! I did some reading online about refilling those little cartomizers, and went to easyvapors.com and got some nice Peppermint Blast e-juice and some syringes and empty cartos and started refilling them. The taste was so great, all nice and minty. But I was recharging a lot, so I got more Fin's on sale again, so I'd have more batteries.

Cut to July 16th....got my iTaste 134 mini in the mail, discovered a vape shop in my own tiny town, got an eGo battery and some tanks for on the go (the iTaste is huge and heavy, but I am so in love with it), and now the Fins are just sitting in a box, with tons of pre-filled cartridges, and I'm using bigger heavier toys now. I've always had a problem with shinyitis, so this could be bad! But I'm not smoking, and hopefully will just stick with buying e-juice and coils until I break even! And maybe now I can get some friends to quit with my Fins! :)

Happy so far! Still loving the grab-n-go Blu's, as well as the growing assortment of bottled e-juices I run through my "real" e-cigs :D I've always been a collector of gizmos and gadgets, and looking at all the different setups available has me feeling like a kid in a candy store!!! I can tell I'm gonna have quite a collection of paraphernalia before long. And since I'm also a tinkerer, I'm sure the DIY bug will bite soon too!
