I ordered 18mg except for one 24mg as a test for a start. I can't really use mine like a pacifier most of the time because I'm home all day with my son and I won't use it around him (he never knew that I smoked and I don't think he'd understand the difference), so rather than hiding outside around the corner of the house, I'll still have to go out of sight, but just in my room. So similar to smoking my cigs, I'll take short "breaks" from time to time during the day.

Okay, I cheated.

My Volt is supposed to be coming in tomorrow, but I only have a couple cigs left in my pack. Won't last me until mail comes. So I walk done to the gas station convenience store to by another pack, grumbling about buying another pack of cigs when I hoped my last would be just that. (This is in no way a complaint on shipping time for Smokeless Image. I'm getting my Volt MUCH faster than I thought I would. I just couldn't see buying a whole pack with only a day to go.)

One more thought: buy a pack. The end is is in sight, who cares? If this works out for you like it did for me (and may it be so!), you will end up with unused and unwanted cigarettes. I have 3/4 of a carton I'm trying to figure out who to give to.

I still have my last pack, 2/3 full on the table. I won't even move it. There's dust on it :) I'm just ...... I moved the lighter - I kept picking it up the first week or so, every time I would go out to vape. Yes, I was going out to vape because otherwise I'd get all jittery and crave an analog (ritual dependence). Yeah, so... it's there, untouched.

It's great if you can make a full switch over right away, but not vital - a lot of people here still smoked a couple of cigarettes here and there at the beginning of their transition. Just don't worry about it - stress makes you wanna smoke :)

The store is not even a 10 minute walk. If I need a pack, I can go get one. But I'd prefer not to unless I need it. We'll see what happens after I get my kit. After just a few hours of this PV, I went out with the dog and had my last analog (was craving the coolness of the menthol) and got lightheaded.

Where is everyone getting their egos from? My boss wants to step up from a Joye 510 finally. Any deals or coupon codes for ego kits? To the op, you should definately get an ego. I start everyone on the
Joye 510 manual, then go to an ego, then to a 3.7 volt mod, then variable voltage. You can jump ahead but its great to learn about the units before just jumping into a 200 expense.

Get your mouth off my driptip....

So, 30 minutes ago I opened my packages from SI and RAWR. It's amazing. That little cheapo I've been using since last night doesn't hold a candle to it. It was warmer than I expected, but after a few minutes it changed or I did, cause I'm used to it now. Didn't take long at all. Didn't take long to start using it either. Suprisingly unlike other electronics that you have to fully charge the first time because it comes dead, both of my batts were fully charged. I thought maybe it was only a partial charge, but when I tried to plug them into the charger, the charging light never came on. O.O So my cheapo is charging right now.

The 18mg isn't too strong at all, its perfect (at least so far). I'm really liking the flavor and I actually prefer the tobacco flavor (Ice Mentol) to the non-tobacco flavor (Menthol Burst). That may just be a newbie thing. Haven't tried any of the RAWR eliquid yet. ^_^ The ice menthol is sweet and the vapor will sometimes leave my lips tasting like the sweet menthol. My dog keeps trying to bite the vapor (he loves menthol too).

And I can't stop holding it (which is bad since I have to keep it hidden from my son). I was almost expecting it to feel hard and plastic-y, but the batt itself has a soft, almost velvety feel to it. I really like the manual, but the automatic wasn't too bad either (the cheapo is an automatic) so I might get an automatic as a third batt for my Volt as another backup and a bit of variety.

Definately feeling the "dry" sensation more with my Volt. Luckily I'm one of those people who are always thirsty, so I almost always have a LifeWater or something like that nearby. ^_^ Not a big fan of plain water, but that might change.

So happy ^_^

Yay!! I am so glad you like it! Defintely a step up. What flavor are you vaping now? BTW, I carry mine with me all of the time. Oh, and I did just get some 8mg so I can use it like a pacifier... I have all of the strenghths except for 36. I have a ton of 24 which I am probably going to start diluting as it is a bit strong.

Right now, the Ice Menthol. When I need to, I'll prolly top it off with the Menthol Tobacco liquid I got from RAWR.

I plan on eventually getting a good variety of strengths and flavors. I only have 10ml of 24mg, and I'll try it, but I think I'll be happy with the 18mg for the most part.

Maybe if I'm feeling festive tonight, I'll try filling a blank with my Double Chocolate and curl up with a book. ^_^

I've seen posts where people refer to 36mg nicotine levels. Damn...I was a semi-heavy smoker, but even the thought of that gives me a headache.

I was a 36mg vaper for a while to kill the nic fits...:) It get better with time, and yes
I've reduced since then.....

@OP -- you should like the Volt menthols, I did an was never a menthol smoker
just a menthol vaper....

Oh, I am loving the menthol that came with the Volt! I topped off my SI Ice Menthol I've been working on all afternoon with some eliquid from RAWR and while I'm letting that settle a bit, I'm vaping on a carto of the SI Menthol Burst. Beautiful.

And yeah, saving the 24mg for a bad craving day was something I thought of, but I'll prolly try it tomorrow at some point just to see what it's like. But I have to say, I feel great. Went all day without a cig, and while I feel really good (physically), I don't feel like I've actually gone all day without a cig (I'm calm, not jittery or nervous). We'll see how far this feeling will go and how I'll do when the real cravings start hitting.

It goes on, in my experience. And if cravings hit, it means you haven't vaped enough. Remember that in amounts of time, vaping is less efficient than smoking. 3.4 minutes with an analog was enough to calm my nerves, it took about 10 minutes with the KGO at 18 mg. I haven't had one in weeks, though, so I wouldn't know any more...

This is not some "badge of honor" kind of BS like in other quitness programs... If you have an analog it's not cheating on anything. I was lucky enough that I didn't have to touch a cig once my first kit arrived, maybe you will be too. But it doesn't matter. A lot of people are now analog free and they used to sneak one in here and there when they first switched. That's why Pharma is so scared of this thing - it doesn't take "attempts" and "failed attempts" and none of that ... if you just trust the vape, it'll get you there.

Glad the Volt is working out for you! My sister had the same experience as a menthol smoker. She turned me on to the e-cig thing and I turned her on to the Volt, which was a whole lot better than the lousy 808 she was using. Have fun with the flavors...that's what I'm doing!

An update, I've now outlasted a full pack of analogs. I've not used nearly as much liquid or cartos as I thought I would by now. I have 4 active cartos that I top off every night and switch them out during the day. I haven't noticed any change in flavor or vapor so I haven't disposed of any yet. Is there any other tell-tale sign that my carto should be disposed of?

I filled a 24mg today (had to babysit for my cousins and figured I'd need it) but ended up not using it at all yet. Still happy with the 18mg. I love the RAWR Double Chocolate and Peppermint (especially mixed) but I think I'm going to have to mix them with menthol, because I only take a couple drags from them before I have to switch cartos because I'm not getting a good hit from them.

Speaking of babysitting, my first time away from the house with my Volt, I needed something to carry my spares and charger in. My mother has diabetes, and anyone who's familiar someone who has diabetes knows that they usually have several testers since they'll usually get free ones from time to time from new suppliers. I was able to grab a small carry case that held one of my mom's old testers in and I can carry my extra batt, a 10ml bottle of liquid, my charger, several cartos and assorted other supplies (paperclips, tissue, q-tips). My assembled unit I just kept in my pocket as I usually do.

I haven't craved a single cigarette since I got my Volt. I get cravings, but for the PV, not really an analog. I can't puff away at it whenever I want because of my son, so I still get nic cravings. It is easier to get away to vape since I don't have to worry about the house smelling of smoke or making an excuse to go outside, but I still have times that I just can't get to my room and start getting bad nic cravings, but its my PV I want. My aunt was over today and she smokes (outside). Smelled great, but it didn't make me want an analog, just made me want to get out my PV and join her. So in all I think I'm doing pretty good.

If nothing else, I'm getting a lot more reading done. Most of the time I'll just grab 2 or 3 drags from time to time, but sometimes I'll "take a break", go to my room and curl up on the bed with a book or a game and enjoy 15-20 minutes to myself (which I normally wouldn't get). I like the fact that I'm not forced to finish a full cigarette each time I want some nicotine. If my son needs me, or I have to check the oven, I just set it down and come back to it whenever I feel like it.

I had one other question. I thought of keeping one of the rubber tips that comes on the carto on when my Volt is in my pocket, to keep the carto clean and keep pocket lint out of it. Is this a good idea, or would it be dangerous if the batt were to be accidently activated while it's in my pocket?

Thanks once again!!

~kat ^_^
