I'm a noob too. Just a coupla weeks in, and I have 510/808 batteries and mixed up cartos all over the place. This is normal, right?

Any thoughts on organization, while I go through my juice sampling stage? I've either forgotten which juice, or mixed two in unlabeled cartos so much that I have an army of dead unknowns, begging to be washed out. Have tried p-touch labeling both carto body, and more recently, one of the "condoms", to try and keep track of what is what. And this is with just a dozen or so juices. My head is spinning, and it's not the nic!

I'd like to stick to slim batteries and cartos when I go out to the pub, since it's easier to hang with the analogue smokers; and easier to get them into the e-cig thing. Already found drip tips on cartos to be an ideal way of letting the buds try different juices, while we're enjoying our favorite adult beverages. Everyone's got their own tip.

Well, that's it for first post. I'll be wandering around the forum; checking out what's changed since my BBS days of old. If you know what a BBS is, you've got an idea of my age.

Cheers!

Hey Skullman,

nice to see more bikers giving up the smokes for vaping. It can be a bit uncomfortable sitting at a biker bar and whipping out the pv instead of a smoke, but wgaf what anyone else thinks. A holster for devices sounds like a great idea. They do have lanyards, but I don't want it flopping around my neck while on the scoot. It is kinda nice to whip out a cig-a-like while on the bike and get some nic without the hassles of cigs.

I'm using the Vision Spinner batts because I am vaping all day and it lasts me about 14 hours. I'm a tank carto guy. I like a 3.5ml tank and the Dual Coil 1.5 ohm cartomizers. Gets me through all day. There are hundreds of tips...just get whatever turns you on. I like the pipe tobacco flavors like Honey Tobacco, Cherry tobacco. The coffee flavors are pretty good too. And, yes steeping (letting flavors sit without the lid) can improve the taste. I got my Spinners from ecigexpress.com. They are a big resource and have good prices and quick shipping. I've bought some supplies from Madvapes.com with happy results as well.

Enough about vaping, Time to get to the important stuff..............what sled are you riding? '04 Heritage here. Post up a pic!

Hey Avetter: Yep we get those strange looks like What the Hell is that Guy doing!? Like you I really don’t care what they think! I’ve been Vaping in the stores I shop Banks, Restaurants and Bars. Not a Single person has said a thing to me other then a few whom realize what it is and ask questions. But then I am a bit intimidating looking to most so maybe that’s why?

A Holster would work Great especially in the Saddle otherwise where is it going to go? In a pack or saddlebag? I want quick easy access just like with regular cigs! OK, Yes the little eCigs can go in your vest or jacket pocket and that’s what I’ve been doing but what about the larger units or Mods. I think a Holster for the eGo style batteries would be a hit. I wonder if there is anyone out there making them? I think a Lanyard would have to be pretty secure to keep it from bouncing down the Hiway most I’ve seen look like they just clip on fine for most daily activities.

Ok these Vision Spinners are sure growing on me just seems like I have to have one! Continually nothing but good is what I hear and read! I haven’t heard one significant thing bad about them, seems most complaints are from what folks have added or attached to them. I’ll check out those vendors.

Nice Bike! Love the White Walls are those Samson Pipes? I imagine you’re not doing much Riding up in Illinois these days? Or am I wrong? My Softail looked a lot like that a long time ago back when My Bro owned it. She has transformed over the years been rebuilt and painted a number of times before the way She sits now. OK, here’s the line up. This is what’s left in the stable as I’ve made room for a couple new Bikes. ’93 Heritage Classic that wants to be a Fatboy. ’96 Sportster Custom. 2004 Aprilia Atlantic 500 got Her after a Bad Highside that broke way too many bones but it is what was got me back in the Saddle! Opened a whole New Riding Experience for me. Plus all the Great Folks that are into Scooters. Its Been a Great Adventure a Lot of Fun! Many New Friends and Memories made! The Stable, I’m looking for an Adventure Bike along the lines of the VStrom or the like. Would love the Ducati but Damn that’s just too many Dollars! And a larger Maxi Scooter like a Burgman 650 or Aprilia 850. OK, back to Vaping!

Yeah, the weather here kinda su(ks this time of year for riding, but that makes it more fun when you get to slip one in. 7 degrees right now...Gonna skip it today. ;)

The pipes are V&H Long shots w/ Big City Thunder Monster Baffles.

Good luck stayin off the 'logs, and happy vaping!

I currently use cartotanks exclusively, and I have about 20 of them. Most have their own flavor of e-liquid. They are the best option for me me for an all-day, hassle-free convenience and great flavor. Clearomizers or the Kanger t3, and the mini Vivi Nova clearo tank are often recommended for a beginner because they are easier to use; cartotanks have a learning curve and could be something for you to look into for the future.

Damn Baditude: You are just a Wealth of Information! And you have a way of explaining that is very understandable! Thanks again for all your Help! And I have to say that all Your Vaping Goodies are Quite Impressive! Checked out all the links you shared the Charts & Info has been Quite Helpful! I don’t think I will ever have as many Toys like you have but I do want quality and equipment that lasts! With the amount of Dollars I have wasted already with the Kits, Extra Batteries, Carts & Juices I purchased I could be sitting back with some real nice equipment right now if I had made the correct choices! So, I’m going to make sure I make some very educated choices this time around!

Believe me I’m confused on a lot of it but with your help and others I’m coming around! Now that I have a better sense of it and understanding exactly why one would need the Variable Voltage I see where the different Rated Ohms on Carts & Atomizers come into play! One of the reasons I have been asking about ‘A Vendor’ cause when you are shopping around those shipping charges start adding up where the few dollars you might save here and there gets lost in those charges.

I’m clear on the batteries I want it now comes down to the Carts, Tanks and Rebuildables that I need to focus on! So where I was looking to put this together Quickly I’m going to look it all over a bit more before making my purchases! Reviewing it all last night I became more curious of the Cartotanks you spoke of and their learning curve? What is it about the Cartotanks that they are really not recommended for beginners? Not saying that I’m going to go that way but I would like to understand about the Cartotanks?

I found some videos on the Youtube where folks show how to rebuild there Atomizers with wire, mesh, cotton strings, batting and such. That does not look that difficult as long as you have an understanding of what the workings are and have the proper tools! Though all the parts do look quite small and possibly fragile?

I see the cases you have for your various parts and have thought are there boxes or cases to store all your Carts in? I have a number of Carts I’m refilling with various flavors and it has been a hassle to keep track of them. I went to local stores to see if they had anything that might work but I found nothing? A Girlfriend suggested the Arts and Crafts stores again nothing that really suited? Everything I found was either way to large or too small and I haven’t found anything specific online yet. I’m thinking something small that has compartments for your Carts, Batteries and even the eJuices.

On a more personal note Baditude have you been Vaping long? How did you start out?

Thanks

I've been vaping since April 2012, so coming up on a year. My mother had just gotten diagnosed with terminal cancer, and about the same time I saw my first e-cig on the counter of a convenience store. I impulsively bought it and used it while driving out of town to visit her in the hospital. It would be the last time I saw her alive. Were these two events just a coincidence? The timing was quite peculiar.

Seeing her dying made me realize my own mortality. This could be me soon if I don't stop smoking. My first experience with the e-cig seemed like it could actually help me quit. When I returned home, I did more research. I found ECF and my first e-cig kit, and was successful within a week of being totally smoke free. The death of my mother and finally quitting cigarettes through e-cigs were the two most important events of 2012 for me.

Vaping has not only been a life saver for me, it has become a new passion and hobby for me. I've become a collector of sorts. I enjoy teaching others of the knowledge and experience that I have picked up along the way. I believe simple explanations and visual images help teach new vapors about what is really a whole new world of technology. Being somewhat computer and internet savvy, I make things as simple as I can for potential and new vapors to find the information that they likely can't find on their own.
____

I have found fishing tackle boxes and plastic drawer containers the best to store my e-liquid bottles and cartomizers. My two bedroom apartment has two bathrooms; one of which whose countertop is devoted to my "vaping control center" and which has my supply of batteries, chargers, delivery devices, and e-juice bottles. I have an eGo carrying case for my mods and the cartotank carrying case that are carried in a two pocket, shoulder-strapped "man purse" (converted from a portable lap-top case) for when I bring everything out of the house.

Organizer.jpgtankcase1.jpgSwissGearcomputercase1.jpgSwissGearcomputercase2.jpg
____

Cartotanks became my chosen juice delivery device quite early in my vaping experience. They provide me with the best flavor, and allow a carefree, all-day vaping experience which allows nearly instant changes in flavors by simply removing one tank and replacing it with another. I have up to eight flavors with me all the time in the tank case. I always have a spare battery for each mod with me.

There is a learning curve with cartotanks. The secret to success with these lies with the correct methodology in filling and assembly. If not done properly, either dry-hits/burnt taste or flooding/leaking of the cartomizer occurs...its a fine line between the two. Once that happy medium is learned, I and many others prefer the benefits that cartotanks provide us.

There's nothing so difficult with using cartotanks that a beginner can't try their hand with them. Studying a good demo video and using ECF as a resource can bring early success.

Thanks! Yeah, not a Good Thang! Many Broken Bones still dealing with some lurking problems, Nerve damage to left leg is what got me on the Scooter, couldn't shift. 7 Degrees! Damn Avetter that is just a bit too cold for my liking! I’m originally from up that area came from Duluth Minn. Many cold winters with those winds coming off Lake Superior! Out here we pretty much Ride all the time even the rain isn’t that bad. Spent a bunch of years on the Oregon coast now that’s Rain! The Last year I was up there we had 90 inches don’t miss that! So those are Long Shots I Like those Pipes! Both my Harley’s are Baffled too I can’t remember the company but much better then strait pipes the Baffle’s really help the Low & Mid End! The Sportster is Way Fast the Softail can keep up now that She’s Stroked. Not really De-badged says Harley Davidson on the tank been Ghost Painted along with Flames, looks good in the sun! This paint job looks much better then the Purple Tiger Stripe She once was back when my Bro had her done about 15 years ago. What do you think? Been off the ‘Logs’ since I started Vaping but was tempted when I had some problems with the equipment and had to wait on warranty replacements.

Wow that really makes one think! My Condolences Baditude Sincerely! That’s quite the emotional awaking I can see how it got you thinking of your own Mortality! My Father has been on my case to quit for many years he quit smoking nearly 40 years ago I don’t think he really understands how much I really enjoy it? There’s so much more to it then just inhaling for me! He’s really proud that he quit it was a tough thing for him but as with most everything in his life he made up his mind and succeeded! I have quit a few times but really missed it. It wasn’t so much that I was addicted but I missed everything that went with it! I found that I get a lot of that back with Vaping! I Applaud You for your change and that you are helping others your Mother would be Proud! Your way of helping others is Great as I can attest I Thank You Greatly!

I have yet to find containers or storage devices specifically for Carts though I have seen some containers that have adjustable areas within them that could possibly work but I will probably never have as many individual pieces as you have I think a one or two layer container would work for me. The Tackle box is a pretty darn good idea maybe just too much for me right now. I like the idea of the man purse I have an Eddie Bauer shoulder bag that is perfect for that it has many compartments to work with I’m going to give that a real look over I think I can do something with it!

Your ‘Vaping Control Center’ I like that! I’m working with two little plastic trays right now in the bottom drawer of my desk with everything I need all the little tools I found that work with these. I’ve been adding juice to my carts daily and have been using the hard plastic Cigarette Style boxes that came with a couple kits for my mobile cases a few Carts an extra Battery and a mini charger. I have a 3 spot lighter adapter in the center console in my Cadillac that has a USB port so I can charge on the run I have yet needed more then that on my excursions but the day is coming that I will need to transport more. My middle Daughter is expecting my first Grand Child next month she wants me to be there so I need to get something together to Fly. I will be gone near a month so I will need a lot plus there is the whole do you Vape on the plane question as well as what will pass through Security? I think I will post another just on this subject?

OK, it looks like Cartotanks are next in my venture. I received a little refillable Cartomizer Tank from NLA in a warranty replacement for a shorted out Battery and Carts it is there way of saying we want you to stick around. It’s a small tank that goes on your standard size eCig batteries. I just received it so I haven’t played with it yet but just on my initial looking it over it is quite nice it looks of quality! I think I’m going to go with the Vivi Mini Nova to start out with and maybe a couple standard eGo Cartomizors because of their low price so I can switch out flavors. I will be placing an order with someone this coming week I will be stepping up!

Thanks again for all your help Baditude

"Promise my girls"

Sure, that's a good incentive. A better one: promise yourself. If you fail, you won't be there for them. Promise you, and promising your girls will take care of itself.

gord

Hey Gord: Great Point! With My Girls if I’m going to make them a Promise I better be ready to keep it! Believe me I got it Right with Myself before I made the Promise to them! As I said a Promise is a Promise! I think taking the steps I have taken and the Fact I am Truly Enjoying Vaping shows that I will be keeping the Promise! Vaping has hit all those thing I miss in Smoking other then the Lighter Thang but I’m still carrying it so I can light those folks still smoking regular or analog cigs, gives me the opportunity to let them know my conversion! But believe me I know what you are saying! Thanks for bringing that up!
