Hi im new here, i switched from analogs to Blu and tried just about every disposable e-cig out there before finding a vape shop. Since then Ive been using a standard ego battery w. My ce4, switched to the iclear 16d, broke that in my pocket and then settled on the EVOD its really nice in comparison in my opinion besides the very small tank but mannagable i just carry my liquid w. Me.

Ok so i tried a friends igo-w the other day and loved it, made my EVOD taste like a waste of e-liquid and ordered the igo-f online for what i understand is really cheap (a little under 10 dollars). I like that it has the 1ml tank if i decide to use it but also that it can be used as a dripper. i then read up on RBA safety and realised i have no way of controlling voltage or checking resistance w. My srandard battery. Ive since been trying to find a new ego style vv/vw battery or vv/vw mod. I found the ego v3 mega i think its called which claims to be able to test resistance with vv/vw capabilities as well.

Now heres my questions:

has anyone used an ego v3 mega or understand how it tests resistance?

Is there another battery for a similar price (10-30$) that i should look into?

Will it be safe to check resistance with the ego v3 mega if i have a short?

And while ive learned to wrap coils, what kind of coil should i get?

How do wattage/voltage/resistance effect eachother?

Thanks in advance if anyone could help with some/all of this

Wattage is a unit of power. Volts X Amps = watts

Voltage is the electrical pressure inside the wire.
Amps is the speed the electricity is moving at.
Ohms or resistance is the back pressure caused by friction.

as resistance goes down, amps go up.
as resistance goes up, amps go down.

Amps are directly proportional to Voltage, if the Resistance does not change.

most Ohm meters work the same way, by sending a known amount of voltage at a known amperage through the wire you are checking and seeing what volts / amps come out the other side. the more resistance the wire has the less volts and amps will come out the other end.

1. It reads ohms the same way ever other barrey does.
2. Not really unless it gets into 100ths of an ohm
3. Any vv mod wont fire if theres a short, youre good there.
4. Thats a very hard question to answer. Ive built micro, nano, trico, knuckle, stovetop, and dragon coils. My got to is the micro, its easy to make and works well.

From what ive heard random jumping numbers.
and thank u so volts and watts are the same thing tho then?

Volts X Amps = Watts
and the watt is a unit of power..
so volts and watts are two very different things.

From what ive heard random jumping numbers.

that can describe and intermittent short or interment open

a short would look like a low reading. for example if you make your coil and you know your resistance should be 2.0 ohm but your reading .8 ohms. this would be a short. probably caused by the coil wraps touching one another.

an open would look like nothing on the meter. the meter would just not do anything..

an intermittent short or intermittent open would cause the reading to fluctuate rapidly. this is probably caused by a loose connection.

building your own coils can be very dangerous. its not something to be taken lightly.

Ok i think i get it thank you so much, but just to clarify i can only control watts by changing resistance and volage right? So variable wattage is dependent on my voltage and amps(determined by resistance) then?

it really depends on the device some VV mods put out a fixed amperage and the computer just raises or lowers the volts to increase or decrease the wattage.

and some other devices will change the amperage as well as the volts..

this is a chart that compares the ProVari V1 and V2
you can see that the ProVari V1 puts out a fixed amperage.

Ok so some read the resistance so u can tell it the wattage u want instead of the voltage got it, and i know thats why im upset to give up my standard battery but the flavor and vapor production rly seem worth the work and risk but thank you i had no idea about the open/short readings u may have just saved my life lol

if your mod ever acts up or something just seems off. stop using it until you can get to a multi-meter and figure out the problem. its not worth the risk. also make sure you use the proper charger for it. dont try to rig up something because you dont have the correct charger.
