Agree with the sheikh here. Check the different calculators on line. Research different build methods. Troll, or lurk, these subforums. Tons of info. Calculators I like to use:

Ohms-
Online Conversion - Ohm's Law Calculator

Wraps- steam engine as mentioned above. Here is a direct link to the wrap calculator.

Takes a lot of trial and error to get right, but pretty easy to find what worx for you. I will reiterate what I see everywhere on this forum, know you batteries. Know their capabilities. Test them and inspect them.

I was in the same boat. I do have 30g Kanthal so I went to the steam calculator. It really depends on a number of factors; coil ID, wire size, type of coil, etc...

I made a 30g twisted wire dual coil at 6 wraps which came out to .5 ohms. You could do the same thing at 8 wraps to give 1.5 ohms. I use an Istick 50w and I can drain it in a day using something like that coil.

Your power source is as important as your wire size. Smaller wire means fewer wraps to get the resistance of more wraps on a larger wire. Smaller wire does have the advantage of a quicker fire up though.

On my twisted coil I was at 30w and it was a warmer vape. On a parallel single coil at 1.2 ohms 6 wraps at 30w it was a cooler vape. Going to 35w made it the same as the twisted build. Heat flux at work here.

None of this takes into account airflow. On the parallel coil I used less airflow to get the taste. On the twisted coil I was wide open.

Try different things to see how they work. My parallel was wrapped on a 3.15mm mandrel and the twisted was on a 2.54mm mandrel. Both were 30g Kanthal.

All this to say experiment with the calculator before commiting to wire. Saves a lot of wire and rayon (my wick of choice and a great beginner's wick as it is very forgiving of mistakes)

Good luck and let us know what works for you.
