New to RDAs, in need of assistance

I have a Stillare rda on a regulated Tesla mod. The cutoff, as most of you may know, is 1.2 ohms. As of right now, I have a coil on it that my friend built. It's 24g about 15 wraps or so, and the inner diameter is unknown. It works, clocks in at 1.5 ohms, but it takes a while to heat up well. Now, I'm trying to make a coil with 28g wire, a 7/64" inner diameter, with about 7-8 wraps, which should be around 1.3 ohms. When I hook it up to the terminals and go to fire it, my display reads "short" When I check the resistance it reads "0.0ohms" Can someone please give me some guidance?

Sounds like you have a short!
double-double check those wires - can't touch the cap, can't touch each other...etc.
Good thing it's a mod that checks for ya

I checked and re checked all of that a million times. No wires are touching anywhere. This is just confusing the hell out of me.

Would have to be something majorly wrong with it for it to be reading 0.0ohm. Take off the RBA and clean the 510pin on both ends. Make sure nothings in their.

If that don't work I would redo the whole coil. And put on the RBA without the coil to see if it reads anything.

I works fine with the coil I described in the beginning of my post though

I dunno - sounds like it has to be either a short or no connection.

You need to trim off those leads I circled.

Have you checked it with more than one meter? Could be a problem with the mod.

Unscrew the RDA and see what it says and hope your mod has good built in protection.

You are testing it out on an independent ohm meter, and not the built in one on the Tesla I hope......

Did you tighten the screws after you clipped the leads I've noticed I can get a couple more turns out of them when I do that?
