Hi, my names Sean and I'm 19. Just made the transition from analogs about a month ago and couldn't be happier. Switched mostly because of the fact that I could still "smoke" without smelling like an ashtray or having to go outside in the cold at work, and the fact that I'm saving money is just a bonus.

Started with a cig2o kit that I got at my local tobacco store and that is what gt me off analogs but after about a week I wanted more.
Then I moved on to a vapor king manual and wasn't too impressed with it so I did more research and bought myself an ion. First impressions were this thing really is an awesome product I loved everything about it except for the cartridges. I just recently got a stainless vgo 900 with an ion atty and haven't touched anything else since then. Didn't see myself as a bigger battery guy but the fact that I can use it frequently and still get about 1-2 days out of it is awesome.

Joined the forum just to be able to talk and see more info as I am very happy with my e cigs and vaping but feel there's some tricks I could learn to help me get more out of it.

As I said my biggest problem is the carts, I've tried the fluval mod and didn't really have too much luck with it (pretty much gave up and just started dripping). I am going to be trying some ce-2 cartomizers on the vgo as soon as they get here and see if maybe I just prefer cartos over atty/cart combos.

Welcome to ECF! It's good to hear that you've found something that makes you happy and has kept you off the cigarettes. This is just the start of your vaping journey. A lot of people need to experiment to see what works best for them and which flavors they like. I tried a Fluval plug mod that worked out well for me, but I've moved to dripping and cartos while I'm away from home. The only problem with CE2's is wicking, especially with juices that have a lot of VG in them. I've had some good luck with them, but I had lengthen the amount of time between draws so they can wick otherwise I hit dry spots.

The wicking is the biggest problem I was having with the carts, I figure I'll try the ce-2 and maybe some regular cartos as well. Dripping isn't a problem for me except that I like to vape while driving and dripping while driving isn't the best or safest task. I figure there is going to be strengths and weaknesses in any choice between taste and ease of use

Hi and welcome!

I like blue foam with carts but it's fairly thin - about as thick as the narrow dimension of a 510 juice cup. It is cut from Marineland Rite-size U Foam Sleeve in the aquarium dept of Petsmart. Strictlyejuice.com sells cheap precuts for 510 and the cylinder shape 901 carts which I think have a rectangular juice cup similar to 510. I cut small cylinders for my M401 and it barely thick enough for that. trying to find a thicker form (dimension-wise) for 901 whistle-tip carts.

Wicks pretty well and since it holds its shape its easy to put in and take out, easy to rinse and pat dry.

I recommend the 2.8 ~ 3.0 ohm E2s to start with. If you want to experiment with them a bit, try pulling both plugs on one and pop on a drip tip. Drip six or seven drops to start, then add three or four drops every seven or eight pulls. I can't tell much difference between it and my bridgeless atty. Vape always tastes very fresh to me using this method. Also, just in case you haven't read about it yet, some suppliers are starting to carry the see thru E2s. Looks to me like it would be handy to see how much juice is in them. Later, JD. :vapor:
