The elusive Blu finally graced my mailbox with its presence this afternoon. I ordered it on 5/29 after seeing an ad on some website and doing a little bit of research. Should have done a bit more. I seemed to have only stumbled upon those reviews done by Blu affiliates. Didn't stumble upon this great resource known as ECF until after I hit submit. In any case, 28 days for it to get to me. In that time, I have done a ton of reading on here, learned the terminology, the to do's and the what not to do's. After returning from vacation with my order still in "Pending" status, I went ahead and ordered a DSE901 from Parked at Dietsmokes and I absolutly love the thing. Good throat hit with the higher strength liquid, reasonable battery life, easy to find parts, and a decent amount of vapor. I would like to mention that after receiving my 901, I finished the pack of analogs that I had purchased that morning and I have not bought one since. One week analog free for this guy. Also just ordered a Joye510 from Ruyandirect. Hasn't gotten into my hands yet, but I've heard many a good thing about it and am looking forward to receiving it.

Now onto the Blu. Opened it up, nice packaging... Love the PCC. I didn't get the free 2nd atomizer that I read in one of these posts that CS claims it was sending out with newly shipped orders. Oh well. Plugged everything in right away and forgot about it while I slept after work. Woke up and everything was ready to go. Put it all together, only half excited to try it out because the novelty has worn off in the month it took to get here. Problem number one: I hate the foil over the carts. I am sure I can just use a paper clip to scrape it out as others have mentioned, but it is definately an inconvenience. The first cart I used, I simply followed the suggested method of putting it on the atomizer and giving it a twist to separate the foil. With this method, I found many pieces of foil stuck to my atomizer and it wouldn't put out any significant amount of vapor at all. So i took it apart, cleaned the atty off, pulled the foil out of the cart, and tried again. A little better, but not by much. I get about as much vapor out of my primer puff on my 901 as I do with a full drag on the Blu. Oh well, right, it is a super-mini. I can't expect the world here. Give her some time to break in I guess. Have been using it thoughout the day, and I would say its mediocre at best. I have been able to get moderately acceptable vapor by dripping, but I don't want to have to resort to that as my only option. I will update this thoughout the week with any new observations and findings. Maybe it will get better after I give the atty a few good days of use to break in, although I have been going pretty heavy throughout the day with not much if any change. One thing I will give the blu, however, is that the flavors supplied with the kit do taste pretty decent. Not a redeeming trait by anyones standard, but hey, its something. As of right now, I would recommend anyone interested in the Blu as a primary PV or a first PV to hold off and examine some other routes. I am a big fan of my 901, and it is very user friendly. I have heard the same in terms of the 510 that I have on order, but can't vouch for it personally. The Blu hasn't been all bad though. If I didn't make the mistake of ordering one, I never would have found this site, and I would still be smoking 20 analogs a day. $60 well spent to get off of those, even if I am not particularly fond of the unit at this point. Here is to hoping the blu pulls through.... If not, I guess I have 30 days to get a full refund. Any questions, feel free to ask, but like I said, I will try to update this through the next week so that perhaps others that are currently in the situation that I was a month ago can make an informed decision about what product will be right for them.

Regards,

Nate

Sounds like the same thing happened to you that happened to me. The only difference is Blu hasn't shipped my starter kit yet and I'm beginning to look at some other models. My question would be, what kind of nicotine hit do you get off of the Blu? Are they potent at least? I don't mind if the amount of vapor is sub-par. I like the idea of the atty being wind activated but heard it was noise activated as well, is that true and if so do you have problems in crowded places like bars? I can't decide if I'm going to cancel my order and go with something else.

The nicotine is there, it just not quite as noticeable with the prefilled carts. If I drip some of my 24mg or 36mg juice on it or top off a cart, the throat hit is there, not strong, but its there. The full-flavored carts (High Nic) from Blu only have 16mg of Nic. If this had been my first and or only e-cig, i probably wouldn't have dropped the analogs so quickly. The sensor in this thing is definately very sensitive. Sometimes opening the PCC or pulling it out will cause the Blu's battery to activate. It is difficult to let the blu hang in your mouth without it activating itself. In my truck, the 12" sub set it off one time, and it wasn't CRANKED or anything, but it did only happen once. It is very sensitive. My 901 I can leave hanging in my mouth and it won't fire up unless I want it to. I don't want to steer you one way or the other at this point, but I would suggest that you keep looking around for a good deal on something. 901 from Parked was at my door in only two days from Texas...

i will agree with you that the atty on the blu is super sensitive. just sliding it into the charger pack is enough to set it off. and forget about blasting the ac in your car and using it. haven't noticed loud noises setting it off yet, but have only had it for 3 days here so far. overall i get semi decent hit off it sometimes and other times get barely anything.

Well after giving it a solid week of use, I gave up on Ol' Blu. Requested a RMA to send it back for a refund. That was a chore in and of itself. Had to email 3 times over a period of a week before I got an answer. I understand they are backed up, and that it was a holiday, but it shouldn't be that difficult to get out a quick pre-written reply within a few days time. In any case, my 510 came in the mail, and I am NOT looking back. I thought I loved my 901, but this thing friggin smokes! Blu was an experience, but unfortunately, its one I will leave behind. Glad I saw that stupid Blu banner though, because I have now been analog free for 3 weeks.

I ALMOST bought the blu as a backup to my rn4081 but instead I got the 510 kit from e-smokeytreats (two complete PV's with manual batteries, charger and 5 prefilled carts) which took two days from door to door. I have only used my peewee when both my batteries are dead. After all the problems I see people are having just getting the blu I am glad I waited and researched before making an impulse buy. My 510 is a work horse and I love it. :thumb:

I wish I had seen this website before I order my Blu. I tried to research the different brands but got tired and went with Blu because of what came with the kit (ordered 6/14/09-rec'd7/8/09). I ordered the Black w/ 5 pack of black cartidges, but I rec'd 2packs of white cartidges and 3 packs of black. The first 3 white cartidges that I tried I got about 6 to 7 puffs of vapor before nothing-nothing, so I went to the other 2 in the pack and they leak liquid into my mouth. I went on to one of the black cart. that lasted just about all day, so I email Blu CS (7/15) however no reply. I stop using the e-cigarette because Blu is not taking any orders and I did not know what other problems I would have with the cartridges. However from reviewing this website I found two other websits that sell the same thing as the Blu, just a different name-modernvapor and aquavapor. So my hopes are up again to cut back on the real cigarettes, I've been smoking since the end high school 1967, a pack was 35 cents. Thank you for this forum.
