Hello friends!

Just got my Reo Grand today, was very excited after a long 2 week battle with fraud and deception over ECF on the classifieds. I posted about this on the negative feedback page. Regardless, I am well, my Grand is here and is working great. I have 2 IMR 16850 batteries at 1500mah, 2 cisco 2.0ohm 306 atomizers and two bottles of juice from Vaperite.

I am happy with everything, but I do have one or two questions.

I bought the 2.0ohm atomizers because I read that if an individual likes dessert flavors then a 2.0ohm atomizer would be best. Now, I am currently juicing a 50/50 mix of Organic Kona Cream and it is awesome. Great taste, great vapor, nice throat hit(never really felt a throat hit before on other e-cig devices). My question is this, for some reason, on the same set up, my Organic Butterscotch kind of tastes burnt. I get an odd taste that just doesn't sit well. Any idea? I left the atomizer with about 5 drops in it for well over 4 hours to let the juice soak in and while Kona cream tastes fine, the Butterscotch still hits odd.

Otherwise, not sure about other questions... if you have tips and other things, please let me know, but otherwise I have read around and feel comfortable with the device. Just figuring out how to hold it is the next issue!!!

Last thing: Are there any cases for the Grand? Like a cellphone case that can be put on? Just curious.

Thanks!!

The 306 atty gurus may advise you to try dewicking the atomizer, but I'll leave that topic to them.

Genuine Joye attys are reported to meter at 2.3 ohms.

Madvapes offers 2.5 ohm 306 (manufacturer not mentioned) and 510 atomizers (Boge and Bauway).

Value Vapor carries 3.0 ohm DSE 510 atomizers.

Or something wonky might be going on with your two Cisco attys.

I'm not saying GO BUY MORE ATOMIZERS, but you might want to consider it.

You could probably find a cell phone case to fit your Grand. Another option is to order one custom made for it from Griff.
Here's his website.

Welcome new REOnaut!!

I don't know. Finding the right atty for a particular juice can be tricky. You might try some standard resistance attys. Also, there are certain flavors that I find turn bad pretty quickly if the 306 atty is flooded, it boils and reboils the juice and gets yucky.

You might check out Griff's leather mod holders. Search in the supplier forum. He has them for the Grand. I bought one in the Mini size, and it is beautiful. It's a lanyard style, but he makes them with belt loops or clips:

I'm so glad you like it! :D Is it possible that you might be flooding that atomizer? I know it can start to taste a bit burned if you flood it. Some folks have had better luck de-wicking the atomizers. My results have been varied with de-wicking. I also noticed that many of the juices I loved on an eGo didn't taste as good on the REO. I chalked it up to changing tastes and the difference between an eGo battery and the REO. It might be helpful too, to try different resistance atomizers like a 1.8 or a 2.2. I recently noticed a difference using higher voltage on some juices. For instance, I rather enjoy Sweet Tart on my 3.0Ω carto at 4.5-5volts. It really changes the flavor. I wish I had more direct advise to give, but since our tastes are so subjective, its hard to know what someone would like. Experiment!

Wow. I just read your negative feedback post and two others about the same individual. Consider yourself lucky to have received your Grand!

I've only made a few trades for smallish stuff and haven't been screwed yet. If it did happen, I was prepared to shrug it off as a foreseeable possibility.

I'm glad the positive feedback thread is 90 times larger than the negative feedback thread.

Welcome, Deadheadharry, good to have you with us. I'm sorry to hear you had problems with the classies, but at least you have the grand, and I'm confident you'll never regret it. REOs do have a small learning curve, but once you hit on the right combination of atty/carto and juice (for your particular taste) and get the hang of squonking properly for that combination, it's downhill from there (by that I mean its "easy going", NOT that it gets bad LOL).

I recently (Irene) lost power for 3 days, and the ONLY thing I didn't have to worry about, was my grand. It really is hassle free vaping :)

Congrats to you deadheadharry for getting the Grand, I have had mine since Dec. and like you my favorite juice (right now ) is butterscotch from Todd. Been vaping a year and a half and love my 510 attys. I have tried others but always come back to the 510. Now as far as your juice tasteing different I can tell you first hand mine does depending on which omh atty I am using. I just love the way the cisco or IKV 1.5 atty hits but it does mess with the flavor alot. Then I will switch to either 1.8 or 2.0 and I dont get that great hit that I like but the flavor always comes back. I remember watching you along time ago on Smokies show when you first started vaping, small world HUH? Congrats again on your REO you will love it I am SURE!

Welcome to Reoville and the REO family! Check out the Photos thread, there are some great cases for your REO.
I understand how holding it might be hard at first. Just try using different fingers to hold and maybe pushing the button with your thumb. Remember it only takes a light push to fire. Just listen to the atty while pushing to gauge the pressure needed.
Enjoy, and feel free to ask any questions!

Long story short Mud, the kid still attempted to rip me off. He never sent me anything, I got this Reo on the classifieds AFTER the fact of the screwjob. Finally got my piece back today that I sent off to the scum and sold it on the classifieds. I am a big time free-market person and understand the value of voluntary, peaceful trading, but with an unregulated market(ECF classifieds) one has to keep an eye out for scammers. I was very aware and vigilant in what I was doing and when I realized something shady was happening I took action immediately and notified the mail department where my package was going. Got it back no problem. By and large individuals are good hearted and honest, but you must be careful for the parasites out there!

PS: Must watch video below! If you want more information regarding this viewpoint and philosophy, please contact me :D!

Hey Bill,

Funny that you remember me from then with Smokie! Fun times. I am still in touch with him. Otherwise, I have 5 new 510 LR atomizers coming in so I will try those with the Butterscotch. I really want it to work well but this 306 atomizer ain't workin' to hot with it. I will let you know how it goes.

Congratulations on getting your REO and 306 atomizers. Love them but they do have a tendency to get burnt faster than other atomizers due to the heat that's created from the coil. Which burns hotter than other atomizers which is why they give you more TH. I agree with the others that you have to de-wick it. It's a ritual with almost all 306 users.

Which is insanely easy. All you need is a paper clip and look under the bridge. You should be able to see the wick there. Just use the paper clip and push as much of the wick as you can out of it. You can use some tweezers to pull the exposed strands. And your good to go after that.

Personally, I've experienced that myself in the beginning and began the habit of de-wicking my atties before I prime them now. But, I also do this with 510's as well for the same reasons. IMO the wick is the only thing I hate about atties.

So, once I pull the wick out, how does the atomizer work? The heating element is the metal bridge? Does removing the wick solve a burning problem that can occur? Looks interesting, will try tomorrow. Thanks

The atomizer will be fine. The heating element is the coil. The wick and bridge are the components of the atty that soak up the juice to feed the atty better. That's how it's supposed to work in theory anyways but, the wick gets burnt WAY to easily. Which makes the wick inefficient in that aspect.

The removal of the wick will DEFINITELY solve the burning problem now and in the future. The only way you'll get a burnt taste after that is if you vape the atty bone dry. But doing another squonk will quickly solve that issue.

Hope that helps. If you have any other questions then don't be afraid to ask. I'm not an expert but I've dealt with the burnt taste more than enough times to know how to solve the problem.

Another ?

Do you guys remove the battery from the mod when you go to bed? Should I leave it in the Reo? I have 2 batteries so one should at least always be fully charged.

2nd,

I removed the visible part of the wick, but I notice when looking into the atomizer, there is a visible white "wall" on the side of the inside of the piece. Is that apart of the wicking material also, or is the wicking material literally just the little bit of wick that is above the coil? Thank you

The visible white wall is basically the "catch cup" within the atomizer. And no, that's not part of the wicking material. Most of it is located above the wick as you have said. There might be some right next to the coil but I don't bother with that most of the time since the coil is extremely sensitive and if you mess with it incorrectly than you risk killing your atty.

As for the battery. It should be ok to leave it in there. The only way that the battery power is used is when you press the button since it's a mechanical mod.
