That or a million questions lol

So I went out today and purchased :
1000ML VG base 6mg nicotine premixed
30ml sweet cream
13ml waffle
13ml maple
13ml crispy bacon

I downloaded ejuice me up calculator program

I would like to make a 30ml bottle to start out
but with this calculator and products I don't know where to start.
I have looked at a few recipes and they are all pretty much like 6% of .... and 3% of ..... etc
I went to try to use the calculator ( and they all seem to pretty much be alike as far as the input of ingredients go)
I don't know how much of what to add to what
I cant figure out how to plug in the fact that its premixed with nicotine
it keeps saying error when I just added in a numbers to try to get an idea keeps telling me you can input negative numbers
I was hoping someone could kinda help me out here to make a good juice ( I understand if the flavor profile isn't of your liking I just think if I do this right a bacon maple waffle would taste good ) kinda hold my hand here if you would .

what do I need to look at doing ?

thankyou for your time

Welcome!

I use this juice calculator: e-Liquid Calculator

You plug in the percentages of ingredients you want and it tells you how many ml to use.

I would strongly recommend you go over the DIY section and read the stickies, blogs and threads to get a better idea of how to make juice. DIY E-Liquid

You must have five posts before you can post there, but you can start reading.

Look for a easier calculator if you don't understand your current calculator. It's basically let me see the best way to describe this without confusing you further .if your flavor percentage is a whole of say 20% and you are adding different blends of flavorings, you break up that 20% into smaller units to equal a whole. For a example, this is Not a real recipie it is a example, peach, 10% cream5% whip cream 5% that equals your whole of 20% if you add those numbers. In most calculators they would be entered as 10,5, and5. I really hope you understand.you plug in your nicotine base percent, example my real nicotine is 100 mg base so I plug that number in then plug in your target nicotine base, in my case 24mg, so I plug in 24. You plug in the amount of juice you are making, in my case 10mg, plug in 10, say your target flavor percent is 18% flavor 1 example plug in the desired amount like 10%, flavor 2, 5%, flavor three, 3% would total your 18% flavor.your target percentage is going to depend on expirence and personal taste. I like a very strong juice so my actual target is 20% I will break my flavors into percentages equalling that 20% .I really hope this helps you out. That's the best way I can describe it.

Completely second this!!

You might want to consider this: you are starting out with a 12mg VG base and you have not pointed out what you want the final nicotine concentration to be. If you wanted it to stay at 12mg, then you would need to add only flavors. So for a 30ml bottle, you would need (for example) 5% of such and such flavor! it would be 5% of your final amount, 30ml. The calculators just need the initial concentration, the final concentration (which could be the same), the volume you want to make (30ml) and the percentage of flavors you want to add!

Good luck and let us know how it turns out!

Bad idea -- unless you don't mind throwing out a lot of eliquid! Learning to DIY takes a lot of patience and trial & error.

+1 on the calculator above, +1 on *not* starting with a 30ml (start small its amazing how horrid some mixes come out!) and +1 on reading DIY forum stickies and threads...

What I want to add is that the brand of flavoring you bought DOES matter in a recipe. I may use 10-15% Capellas or TFA but only 1.5% in Flavourart to get the same strength of flavor. Some brands (and even every individual flavor can differ) are different strengths of concentration. If you over flavor it can actually turn out tasteless!

Check threads and recipes for your specific flavor AND brand to get some starting points. You will have to set your target nic below 6 in the calculator as adding flavor at say an overall 20% of your recipe is going to put you around 4.75 mg/ml

Thank all you guys for such a quick response time.

I read the stickys a lot of it is blurring together at this point .
I understand that brands differ, and the list are good references for soluble and % of concentrates
I have no problem starting off much smaller either .. I have great patience's so the wait time on the liquids doesn't bother me .
I understand the % via total amount
and breaking them down such as total 20% and each broke into smaller amounts to add to total
I don't know how much of what to add
also it says and I have read about addin water and or alcohol ? do I need to add it
I know what finished end result I want to have
the problems are amounts of each . is this just trial and error?
I looked for recipes via what I am wanting to make didn't find any other than maple waffles

so lets take a look at what I have tried to add to the calculator and maybe you guys can still help me
thank you again for the help guys if you're ever in bham I will buy you a beer

Nicotine strength e-juice pg [ 0 ]% vg [100]% 100%mg
target nicotine strength 6mg
amount to make 5ml
h2o/vodka/pga 0%

flav1-waffle capella pg100% 5%
flav2-maple lorann pg100% 2%
flav3-crispy bacon capella pg100% 1%
flav4-sweetcream flavor apprentice pg100% 1%

target pg0% vg100% ratio you want your recipe to be

Ok as I am sure one of you can see where I went wrong .
where I am going wrong here ?
I am also merely guesstamating the amounts here
I figure I want more waffle as it will be lost in strong flavors
mid level on maple
light on bacon as I feel it will overwhelm the juice of over used
and light on the sweet cream as I feel it will add a nice richness to round everything out

so heres what I get in return from the calculator

20 drops equal 1ml

ingredients ml drops % of total
nicotine ejuice 0.3 6 6
pg -0.5 -10 -10
vg 4.7 94 94
w,v,pga 0 0 0
waffle .25 5 5
maple .15 3 3
crispy .05 1 1
sweet .05 1 1

click calculate and I get an error message
"you need to add more pg,can not use negative numbers as shown recalculate "

where am I screwing this up and also do these amount seem correct from your experiences ?

The biggest problem you're having is in using so weak nic. You have to factor in that you're wanting to make 6mg juice with 6mg nicotine. When you start adding in VG, PG, and flavoring you are in fact diluting your nicotine to below 6mg.

the pg 100ml bottle of pg is already premixed

I'd answer but after that recipe I'm headed to IHOP...........Seriously...the calculator is compensating for the PG flavors. VG 4.7, nic .3 = 5ml.. - .5 pg then add .5 pg flavoring. I think if you change your flavorings to 100% VG the error will go away.

that's what Im saying I want that breakfast all up in your vape and for it to be true rich and on point ...
also yes changing the flavors to vg instead of pg ( even though it lying ) fixed the error tile that kept popping up ...

now having fixed the error do these amounts look good for what im wanting to do ? also do I need to be adding water or vodka to these juices ?

Homeish now
I'd try something like...

6mg nicotine premixed (This is a bit of a problem honestly...guessing 6mg is what you are aiming for...when you add your flavoring it's going to lower your mg...even if you dont add Anything else...Useable but will be lower Nic Suggest at the very least 24mg next time. Higher if you are comfortable)

With those flavors I'd try something like this first...
sweet cream 2%
waffle 3%
maple 2%
crispy bacon 1%

So to make 10Ml's (I use this Calculator eJuice Recipe Calculator )
sweet cream 2% ..... 4 Drops or 0.2mls
waffle 3% ...... 6 Drops or 0.3mls
maple 2% ..... 4 Drops or 0.2mls
crispy bacon 1% ......2 drops 0r 0.1mls
Fill the Rest of the bottle up with your premixed Nic, its going to be more like 5mg now.

I'd then hot bath it(I heat a mug or bowl of water up to boiling in the microwave) and plunk the well sealed bottle into that until its cool and or use a sonic cleaner to speed up mixing.

Biggest thing about DIY.....is BLOODY KEEP NOTES. You will Not remember, its not like cooking. Trust me.
