Your cap was scratched or dirty like ED's Torq?
I received my Stealth today too and its cap was scratched as well. I wrote an email to cov telling them about it. Not a problem for me but i have rouge and a buffer. The cap was so scratched i had to buff and rebuff for 5 minutes. Looks good now but took a while. No response from cov either. All i was expecting was a sorry and thanks for letting me know

Brass always do that if it stays for a long time unshined. Cleaner will do the job, no worries Ed. As for the o-ring on the top cap please do as Vapor said. The small screw under the cap plays a role of adjusting the way that o-ring goes around atomizer. The harder the screw, the more tight the o-ring around atomizer. Also that way its easy to change the o-ring whenever you like. Dont forget that GG is made in a way to help the user in every possible way:)
Darn it, I wish I knew about that whole adapter setup as I already had two 510 to 510 adapters but saw where people said COV's was made special for the GGTS and to use the tank that's what you needed to use...ugh..oh well.

Thanks so much for the information, as I did want to be able to use the adjustable draw on the CT top. Does the CT also catch any leaks that come from the end of the connection using this setup?

Now just gotta find some brass cleaner to hopefully remove these smudges....I am hoping this is normal and that brass just does this as I am real OCD about marks on my mods, well at least the ones I didn't put there :)

I dont know about alcohol, I always use apropriate products for metals Ed:)
If you want to use an E2 tank, put the GG rethreater on the GG connector and then a 901 to 510 adapter and you will be ok

Imeo I tried the rethreader and a 901/510 adapter and found that it is still too short. But then I removed the brass top cap on the SSGGTS and then it fit fine. Is this what you had in mind or is there a longer 901/510 adapter that I need to get? My adapter is about 1cm long.

Pretty sure it was suppposed to work without the top brass piece.

Pain my method may help if may not though. I put the adapter on my iatty then screw the rethreader into the bottom of the adapter. Then I loosen up the telescoping battery (allows the center pin to be pushed down more) then screw the rethreader with adapter and iatty onto the connector cap. Then tighern the battery telescope. If I put the rethreader on the top cap first it is a mm or 2 to short so I have to do it this way. Hope it helps.

Imeo
The cap had several scratches on the side of the brass top. I bought the Stealth along with a new GGTS in SS. The GG came in a velour bag but the stealth came in a plastic bad. At first I thought the damage came from being in the same box during shipping but I inspected the plastic bag and there was no damage to it. The scratches had to be on the cap before they were placed in the bag.
The scratches were so deep I had to use green rouge on my buffing wheel to remove before I could rebuff with the red rough.

It's not a problem for me but I have a complete workshop at home, some people don't.

I meant that you have to remove the top brass lid repent, exactly as you did it:)

I see Torq. You know that I would change your cap as I always do in those situations but if you manage to do it in the right way then all are good buddy:)

If for some reason you cant do it then please inform me gredie:)
My stealthcap came with a scratch on it's side straight from top to down. Looks like caused by a knife, really hard to see but i can feel it with my fingernail. Probably i can remove it with buffing, not a real problem at all.

Thanks Imeo, I read somewhere that using the 2 510 adapters that Bruce sells brings the connection a little above the bottom of the CT tank but the only issue I have is that the O-ring in the top cap won't allow the 510 connector so didn't know if I should force it in or just remove?

Thank you again, it sure is a beautiful device :)

I havn't finished reading the thread, so this may have been answered already. The o-ring in the top cap needs to be tight against the adapter to use the air control of the catch tank. Put the adapters together (short then tall) and thread them into the connector with the cap removed. Next fit the cap on and tighten down (it will be tough, but use a little vaseline it will help). The end of the top adaptor should be flush with the lid of the catch tank. you can now attach the catch tank to the rest of the GG and ticghten down the batts and then attach your tank.

Hope this helps.

I have try to put rethreader and 901-510 adapter even without the brass lid and it still too short. Different vendor adapters are different I guess.

Attach the 510 to 901 adapter to the tank or iatty, then the rethreader into the 510 to 901 adapter, screw into the 4 in 1 connector in the catch tank with the lid removed. As long as you get a few turns in and it is tight, the floating pin in the 4 in 1 connector will move up and make contact. I had similar issues to you initially till I figured this out.
