I never was a tobacco smoker but I do enjoy the stimulating effects of nicotine. My starter kit recently purchased is a Logic Power Series Starter kit and the Black Label cartridges that is working rather well, charges by USB, and lasts a while between charges.

I am looking for low cost cartridge sources and will probably hit the local Rite Aid soon. If refilling the cartridges is desired what do you folks use?

I also like a second better quality vaporizer and was wondering if anyone could suggest or recommend something that would be reasonably priced.

Welcome! I am a bit confused. If you never used tobacco, are you certain it's the nicotine you are enjoying or is it the action of inhaling a flavor and exhaling the clouds? Many find the action of vaping (and smoking) to be part of what we crave. Secondly, are you certain you want to stay with cartridges and not switch to liquids and some sort of a tank?

Hello and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here!:)

If you are looking for an upgraded setup here are some possible options for you to consider:

1. JoyeTech Ego-C Twist
2. Vision Spinner
3. Innokin iTaste vv v3
4. Innokin iTaste MVP v2

The first 3 are fall into the "ego style" category of battery (with variable voltage). They range in size from 600mah to 1300mah. The higher the mah the longer the battery will last between charging. The 4th one is a step up from an "ego style" battery in that it is a smaller box mod with a very big battery (2600mah). It will last many vapers a whole day before it needs recharging. It is probably one of the most popular batteries for someone upgrading from an "ego style" battery. Some vapers choose to buy one "ego style" battery as a backup and also purchase the MVP for their main battery.

I suggest buying from reputable e-cig vendors such as AltSmoke, Discount Vapors, My Vapor Store, etc. Buy only name brand Joyetech Twist or Vision Spinner ego batteries. BTW, "ego" is merely a type of battery, not a brand name. Buying "generic" ego batteries is always going to be hit or miss...mostly miss.

You will need to purchase a tank (the juice attachment) with the first three on the above list. The mini Nautillus, mini Aerotank or regular size Aerotank (all made of glass & all have adjustable airflow control) are very popular. The MVP Kit comes with a tank but it is not glass.

Hey and welcome to the site first of all.

I can't really offer advice on refilling the cartridges as I've never done it. But seeing you're looking for a decently priced "better quality" (its all about what works best for you.) Vaporizer I may be able to offer some advice.

You could move up to an ego battery and clearomizer set up. It will give you a better vape and longer battery life at about the size of a cigar.
There are a lot of vendors talked about on ECF and tons of reviews that can point you toward a starter kit.

But if you have more preferences or requirements for the second vaporizer list them and it will help to figure out exactly what youre looking for.

I've always heard about people that weren't smokers that vaped, but I always sort of assumed they were "social" smokers or what have you. Interesting!

I'm going to +1 what most of everyone else has suggested and say that you may find more satisfaction with an Ego setup. If you've never tried something like that before, see if you can find a brick and mortar vape shop in your area to check out. Just google "vape shops near me" and that should get you well on your way. Your local B&M may also be able to direct you towards carts that are reasonably priced, if you still want to go in that direction.

Welcome Alan. I started on drugstore ecigs and soon learned to pop off the white cap on the end of the cartridge and refill with vape juice from a tobacco store. Then moved up to the ego type system. And my last step before going to RDA was a Vision Spinner II with an Aspire CE5-S BDC. Hope there is some useful information in here somewhere. Peace.

I get a charged, revved up stimulant, appetite suppressing effect that lasts for a few hours and I’m sure the clouds from vaping is part of it. The effect is nice but I can take it or leave it

My mother smoked cigarettes and passed away from lung cancer which is why I’ve avoided tobacco. The electronic cigarette provides the benefit for smoking tobacco with having to burn the leaves, paper and all the additional chemicals. I just got into this hobby and it sounds like liquids and tank might be cheaper in the long run.

I appreciate all the information from you guys and I need to research this further as I do with every other electronic gadget and purchase. I am looking for a nice, classy but not too expensive vape device that holds a charge a decent time and can be refilled without too much trouble. In a way this hobby is something like an expansion of my flashlight hobby as far as the batteries are concerned.

Lastly how do you know when the cartridge is really empty as I can’t what’s in there?

I just recently encountered the low battery blinking light situation with the Logic and quickly realized that I need a backup. Today I got a Blu Classic Tobacco Starter pack that is currently charging the case while I vape away on the Logic:vapor:. This is a good backup with two batteries so that there will always be a primary device on hand with two spares available to rotate if needed while the others are on charge.

The concept of electronic smoking devices i.e. “e-cigs” is not only a cool hobby but provides the nicotine benefits without having to burn paper or ignite anything with flame. My mother smoked and would often place her cigarette on the edge of the sink or tables while the cigarette idled away with a smoke trail of essentially wasted material. You can put an e-cig in your pocket and, unlike a cigarette, its good to go and you don’t have the worry of burning something. The quickly dissipating and undetectable smoke cloud is a gas.

DONT BUY A SPINNER II! The authentic Vision Spinner II is total trash. Vision knows this battery is seriously flawed, has publicly promised to remedy the charging issue but over a year has passed and they still have not done so. Also, it has proven to be a fire hazard (DHL will not even ship them because of this), yet Vision continues to market them without addressing these issues. SHAMEFUL!

This advice about "double-dipping" to get proper charging is an insult to the average person's intelligence. That is Vision's solution to the problem and is even stated on their website. Can you imagine any reputable manufacturer offering such a lame solution instead of just fixing the problem.

What's more, they refuse to provide refunds without making you jump through hoops. First they told me to submit a serial number which does not exist on the unit but supposedly is printed on the flimsy packaging which would naturally be discarded before realizing that there is an issue. Then they told me I would need to submit a detailed video that demonstrated the issues I was having). What a joke!

Vision is now on my BLACK LIST for such shameful behavior.

Anyone offering a positive review of this battery is either extremely lucky to have a received a working battery or they have less than scrupulous motives for doing so. Most retailers are no longer offering the product and those that are should also be black-listed as well because they are well aware of the issues and are simply trying to unload their inventory on unsuspecting customers. JUST AS SHAMEFUL!

I will NEVER purchase anything marketing by Vision again...EVER! They are just another Chinese manufacturer that produced a great product (I own a couple of the original Spinners which have worked flawlessly for over two years) and then followed up with a defective product and a total unwillingness to make things right for their customers. The terms "quality control" and "customer loyalty" seem to NOT be part of the Chinese language IMHO.

I guess we should be kind to you buying Blu as you were never a smoker. Now you are in the pocket of a Big Tobacco firm.

Kind of ironic really? :)

In all seriousness, good luck to you.
