Hello All

I am new to this forum but not new to fourms. Now I have tried Ecigs in the past and my first ecig was the V2 whichwas pretty good. As it did what it was designed to do but I relapsed and went back to the old way of smoking. But now for 2014 I have decided to restart my journey and with a totally different brand of ecig. I have just purchased my starter kit from Halo ecigs. Wanted to Know if any one has tried this brand now I have been reading reviews and they seem great. But I would like to hear from people who have used them

I did use a Halo G6 when I first started out but quickly moved on to a standard ego style battery for the battery charge life and most importantly for the more common threading (Halo uses a much less popular 808 and vGo threading for their cartomizers and clearomizers - standard 510 and ego threading is fast becoming the standard). I did really like their Tribeca eliquid but quickly moved on to DIY (because I am cheap)

Congrats on deciding to make the switch

I started out on the V2 as well and was happy with them but, as Dakota said, quickly moved on to the eGo style. My recomendation, if you havent yet purchased the Halo, is to get an eGo C Twist with a mini ProTank II. You can get both, along with a charger, for $50 or so depending on the vendor... make sure to get some quality juice as well- solid equipment and juice make all the difference in successfully putting down the smokes for good.

Good Luck!

Hello Dakota Jim

A few things thank you for the reply, and also what does this mean (1) standard ego style battery
(2)808 and vGo threading
I am not up on the ecig Lingo yet but I am a quick learner

There are two main connector types, to allow you to screw the top onto the bottom. One is 808, one is 510. (There are adapters available, but they often don't work with automatic batteries, which are the batteries where you don't have to push a button.) And either an 808 or a 510 can have an outer set of screw threads that allow a less-common type called "ego threading" to also be used.

Many of us started with an 808 kit of some kind because they are higher-quality than the gas-station ecigs, more consistent. But as soon as we start getting tired of those ecigs, we do some things to make ecigs more-pleasurable:

1. Switch to a battery with longer life, which means it looks more like a marker pen. These can be 510 or 808 but almost all of them also have the outer "ego" threading which can be used with some devices. But since adjustability is SUCH an improvement to satisfaction, and since the price is not all that different between non-adjustable vs adjustable 'fat batts' we strongly recommend getting an adjustable one, which is why someone said get a "twist." The "spinner" is also great.

2. Order some flavor samples from some vendors to look for our "favorite flavor" also known as "All day vape" -- this varies wildly by person so it takes awhile.

3. Switch to refillable tops that hold 2-5 ml of eliquid. These are MOSTLY 510 threading which is why eventually most of us migrate to 510. (Then we give our 808's to our relatives or put them up as a give on the Pay It Forward section of ECF)

After our first kits we usually never get kits again because by then we know which pieces of the kit we actually want vs. which pieces are just for fun. So we get different things from different vendors as we learn what we like, which, again, is very individual.

But many of us LEARNED to vape and did the intial flavor hunt on the 808 cigalikes so I'd consider those to be excellent "training wheels"! (But you don't see anybody commuting to work daily with training wheels, right?)

I also started with halo. I had the cig a like G6 then within a week moved to the Triton batts then within two weeks went with Halo triton VV. I now have three of them, no problems and Triton tanks work great. I prefer a warm vape so I love the top coil on them.

There is a Halo thread on ECF and very helpful.

I think the hardest part if vaping really isn't the equipment as much as finding juices so sample sizes are your friend. Good luck!

I still use the G6 outside all the time. I also got the low res cartos (make sure you prime it by flooding it when you buy it else it will burn FAST).
You will however need atleast an Ego and tanks in the long run (like the Trinton by Halo).
Other good Brands (Manufacturers) are:
Kanger
Innokin
Smoktech

Lots of knockoffs out there so stick with brand names

Sounds like he is using Halo ejuice - cannot go wrong with that

Welcome my friend. You will find an excellent device and at its rightfull value. whatever you get it works one way or other. As you should notice everyone tried something went to other thing etc. You find it as water finds its way.
Important part is liquid. You have to find right amount of PG, VG and most important right amount (even higher) liquid. The reason you turned back is you got low nicotine. Get a liquid to your liking begin high level you can always dilute it.
