Just having prefilled cartomizers is the advantage. I have yet to find prefilled cartos for a 510.

Healthcabin sells them, I think. But prefilled, to me at least, is not an advantage. I like to use my own juices and change 'em up too often. To each his/her own though. Some may well find that advantageous.

...and I apologize for not looking to see what replacement batteries cost for the GreenSmoke. :)

I just know I felt more like giving up because everyone was calling what I was thinking of as a prize I'd won on the getting off analogs show "junk" and "crap" and then I thought WOW am I stupid or what for not knowing better and almost shied away from the forum altogether from embarrassment, sure glad I didn't!

I'm not trying to be rude or defensive, like I said I now use a Riva! LOL

Don't let anyone pressure you into thinking whatever works for you is "junk" or "crap." There are a lot of folks here that seem to think their stuff is the only way to go. The Provari and Darwin fanboys tend to look down their noses at most of us. Not all, but a lot of them do.

The thing is, they aren't paying for your stuff, so who really cares what they think? If it works for you...by any and all means...stick with it!! When it comes right down to it, your opinion is the only, only, only one that counts!!

You can use whatever you want. Just be aware VG is thick so unless you or the vendor thins it with a lot of distilled water or alcohol you will be limited in the ways you can vape it. You may need to spend more time letting filling cartomizers and letting them settle (like overnight instead of 15 minutes). You may not be able use some reservoir cartomizers. And basically you will need to vape no faster than your VG flows or you can get singeing and burnt taste and be vaping singed stuffing etc.

Re prefilled - if you are made of money, sure, you can just vape prefilled. But for most people a prefilled cartomizer lasts at most 10-12 cigarettes worth of vapes, not 1 to 1.5 packs like glitzy rebranders claim. And you may not be able to vape them fully dry or you will get the singed burnt/bitter taste. Also re Blu - I think those are 90mah batteries good for about an hour of moderate vaping.

Just FYI - PG vapor is used in hospitals to deliver inhaled medications, even to lung transplant patients.

PG lets through the most flavor, nicotine hit, and most nicotine irritation (having 10-30% VG in the blend can buffer the irritation without dulling the flavor or TH too much)

You can get all kinds of reviews here on ECF from people who are convinced that whatever they use is the best. Those of us who have a box full of all the different hardware variations we have tried are the same ... except we have actually tried them all before arriving at our considered "best vape".

One size does not fit all, that's for sure. That's why you see 100 different kinds of cars on the road.

That's Pure Grain Alcohol...as in the drinking kind. Not rubbing alcohol. I just wanted to point that out. I think we need to be sure to call it correctly. I'd hate to have someone die because they added Isopropyl to their daily vape. :p

Oh jeez, I would hate for anyone to feel that way. We smokers (or ex-smokers) are really put through the mill. First for smoking, then selecting a pv. I do hate to see someone taken advantage of by buying an overpriced kit like the $300 mall kits. It's more a reflection on the pv, not on the person making a purchase. We're all trying to do the same thing after all, quit smoking. And we're doing it blind basically.

Whatever gets you off cigs is a great thing. Once we find our way here, everyone is in pretty good hands. What got us here isn't that important. Whatever a person likes and already paid for, use it! Never bad to have a backup. I just wouldn't throw extra money at something that might not work for a person. But if it got you even interested in vaping, it's a win.

There are few prefilled cartomizers for 510 because it is sold as a 3-piece. LiquidXpress has a small poorly stocked selection, and Volcanoecigs have some for Magma (their 510). These are probably PG or mostly PG. And definitely PG are the Dekang-filled Boge 510 cartos at Vaporkings.com. BTW you can use Blu cartos on 510 and if you do get a 510 I recommend MANUAL (either Joye brand or the Magma outfit is nice). Both volcanoecigs and NoSMokeVA have the nice roomy PCC for 510 and both work with manuals. Manuals give you more control of your hit, and won't turn on accidentally from wind or vibration. 510 manuals are totally sealed metal on the threaded end and safe from being damaged or killed by juice leaks.

With KR808D-1 (Vapor4Life, SmokelessImage, Bloogplanet, Halocigs G6) - that's the most popular 2-piece and has plenty of prefilled cartos. But as far as I know, the only VG ones are a small selection at Vapor4Life.

I'm opinionated AND drive a MINI Cooper so I do fit into the "different category! LOL Seriously, the Blu was a convenient starter (YES overpriced) and I found out very quickly that the prefilled option was way too expensive yet had I not been so opinionated and stubborn I would have given up because of what I percieved as people telling me I had made such a dumb choice. Being a very petite lady of 5'2" and under 100 pounds I STILL do feel that I need the Joye 510 (manual) when I'm out in public, I still don't feel comfortable using the Riva because it's just not the right size for me to be comfortable when around people who are not aware of PV's. Put me on home turf and you can watch me fog up the room with my Riva and a Resurrector! LOL

All I'm saying is we can put things in a kinder way and lead the horses to a greener pastor without hitting them with a whip. :)

P g is used for throat and vg is used for vapor. Most folks like to use a percentage of both. the less pg you use the more vapor you are going to get and the less vg you use the more throat hit you are going to get. Now there are a few people that are allergic to pg and have to use vg oly. Keep in mind that if you aren't allergic to pg I would use a mixture of both since vg makes a juice thick and it will clog up your carto's. Also bear in mind if you want to go all vg I would read carefully on what ever supplier you use and mkae sure their juices are all vg. Most flavorings contain all pg. You can get different pg/vg ratio's depending on which supplier you use.

I tend to agree with the "whatever it took to get you off cigs is good" crowd. I bought over-priced Smoke Free from a mall, and Blu Premium online. Really like them both, but the Blu's battery is just too short-lived. Had to return them, and ended up with RN4081 kits (Smoke Free clones). Quite satisfied. Do not want to go so far as mods, hookahs, anything that I cannot easily pull out while in the street. To each, his reach. I'm just overjoyed that I have not smoked for 1 1/2 months. If you do not have a problem with your kit, then YOU DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM! Ignore what others say.

Has anyone tried the VOLT? Also has anyone tried the V4L? Any opinions would be appreciated.

MADJACK! Thanks for the links. I am looking into them. Have you tried either of the above?

Jen, I am presently using the Riva510 from Liberty Flights and have an E-Power on order...all of the vendors I listed and the products they sell are highly thought of around here...the first two sell eGo/Riva/Kgo 510 threaded product which get 6-10hr+- batt life and are the size of a Sharpie(kinda sorts)...the bottom 3 sell KR-808D threaded devices which are ciggy sized and get 2-4hr+- of batt life...with the 510s, you will havvta fill your own carts/cartos, with the KR-808s you can get prefilled or fill your own................

I was a heavy smoker for a lot of years and the day I got my first real kit I stopped.
It was from V4l, the XL, manual batteries. I got a few prefilled cartos, some blanks and some juice. I used it pretty heavily at first and kept one battery in the charger. I worked for me.
Since that time I've ordered and used a bunch of different things but the KR808 got me started.
If at some point in time you decide to go with a 510 type PV.....you can get adapters to use your 808 stuff.
Dormouse knows the details and specs on most of these things. Listen to the Dormouse :)
