I have searched, and the answers are probably there, but I can't find them without hours of reading, which I unfortunately don't have. I have a Riva 501, and a superslim e cig (not sure of make).

So, anyway some basic questions:

Should I disconnect the battery from the device after vaping? I heard this prolongs life of charge.

Should I let my battery charge down before recharging?

Does VG give more vapour, while being harsher on the throat, or is it kinder?

Concerning DIY mixes - I read not to try it until experienced, but is that just a safety concern regarding nicotine? I'd like to go Nicotine free and try none tobacco flavours - is DIY mixing safer regarding this.

Is food glycerine (for consumption) pharacutical grade?

Could I add a drop of Lorann flavouring to cart for added flavour, or must it be mixed with existing ejuice, or must it be mixed from scratch with VG/PG?

What are the dangers of non-pharma grade gycerine/other makes of food flavouring - is it health or longevity of atomiser? That last one is more thoretical than practical, just want to know, really.

A number of carts came with my super-slim e-cig. They were classed as Marlboro-H. THey don't really taste like marlboro to me, but have a sweeter almost toffee taste, though that is quite faint. I actually really like it. Is there a liquid which is close to that, but not overpoweringly toffee tasting, as I assume the toffee e-juices will be?

Many thanks

Phil

Hiya Phil. Welcome to ECF. . Heres some answers to your questions.

1. No, it is not necessary to disconnect the battery when not vaping. It will not prolong the battery life.

2. Its best not to let the battery discharge completely before recharging. You will get more overall life out of it if you use it say only half way.

3. VG gives more vapor than PG and seems to be easier on the throat.

4. I don't know anything about DIY, but there is a lot of good info in this forum about it. Including recipes.

5. Glycerin should be pharmaceutical grade if you are going to inhale it. It will say on the label if it is.

6. I wouldn't drop pure Lorann flavoring into the cart. Mix it with the juice first.

7. I don't know the dangers of non-pharma glycerine, but it makes sense to use the purest since you are putting it into your lungs. You can get it at Walgreens or CVS. (I just saw you are in the UK, so no Walgreens for you).

It sounds like you really want to get into DIY, so once you have your required 5 posts, you can ask all your DIY questions in that forum.

Here is a link to it in the Tips and Tricks forum. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/

You can peruse it now, but you won't be able to post a question or reply until you have your first 5 obligatory posts in the new members forum.

Thanks for that.

I've been looking to get some pharma grade VG, but no one nearby me seems to do it. We do have a Wallmart (Asda), so will try there, or just get some online.
I do like the idea of getting into DIY. Especially since I'm happy not to be messing with nicotine. I know what you mean about it being best to use pharma grade for your body, just wondering really, I suppose (inquiring mind).
I have taken delivery of some vanilla low nic from E-liquid, and have to say it's joy to vape. Now all I have to do is show some restraint.
What a truely great invention this is. I've been struggling to kick real cigarettes for years now, and have found that it's not actually the nicotine I'm doing it for, but rather the whole act of smoking - the feeling of it. Now I know that no smoking is better than anything, but given that I know I will always miss it, and will always go back to it, this has to be litterally (hopefully) a life saver.

All the best, and thanks for the input.

Glad to help. I think that most here will agree that its just not the nicotine that we are addicted to, its the whole act of smoking.

I smoked a couple of packs a day for many years and have not had a cig in the last 10 months, thanks to vaping.

Walmarts here in the States usually carry the pharma grade VG. If not, try a local apothecary.

Hope to see you around the forum.
