I've been smoking for some time and have tried quitting but it's not easy. So I decided to check into these electronic cigarettes. I'd never seen any in person and don't know anyone who uses them or anything about them.

I did some research and wow, didn't realize how popular these are and how many are out there. Kind of overwhelming. I've been trying to learn a little bit about this and have been reading some of the threads on here and various other sites.

I finally decided on something to order. Hope it was a good choice. I ended up ordering the Ego C Twist with the Kanger T3s clearomizer from vapors haven.

No idea about the differences between the different choices of parts. But after some reading, it seemed like this was a good combo.
As far as the e liquid, can I use any e liquid from any store? Also, this ego twist has variable voltage. How do you know what to set it at?

What is the average user time for the 650 mah battery and one 5oz bottle of liquid? Thanks

Congrats on the switch. You did good on your choices of gear. I would suggest at least 4 total batteries and 2 of the tanks with like 10 extra kanger heads. Your going to need back ups if your equipment goes down. The 5 oz tank will probably last you a day. The general rule is 100 mah= 1 hour. So 6.5 hours.

thanks. this should be intetesting. I have no idea what to really ecpect from this. Hope this helps me quit smoking :) Also hope to save $$. I usually go through about 5-6 packs of smokes a week. How long does 5oz of liquid last compared to a pack of smokes? Thanks

Once you find a flavor you like it gets much easier, trust me. I used to smoke kretek cigs so I started with a few different clove liquids, finally settled on a DIY mix I really enjoy all day, and I've been smoke-free for just over two months without a single craving.

As far as juices go, since I haven't seen it addressed, you can use pretty much any eliquid, though I recommend starting with an 80/20 or 70/30 PG/VG ratio as I'm not too familiar with the T3 clearos, and a lot of cheaper clearos have trouble with high-VG liquid, at least in my experience. I vape 60/40 in a Vivi Nova with no issues, but I've had some clearos that just flat out will not wick it at all and gave me burned/dry hits all the time.

Congrats!

Hardware? That's a very good starting combo. But keep in mind that to make this work you need more than a "one" of anything.

Two battery minimum for openers 'cause while a battery is charging you ain't vaping. Charge time for a Twist can take about two hours, depending on the size of the battery. The quesstimate rule for these batteries is every 100 mAh of battery capacity = 1 hour of vape time. So your 650 mAh battery will get you up to 6 hours of use - ish - depending a bit on what voltage you end up liking and the device you attach to it.

The Kanger T3's - good choice for overall convenience and ease of use for a beginner. Again - you don't want to get caught with only one, should it suddenly die. (Things happen and they do wear out too.) One of the tougher things newbies have to adjust to - vaping takes a little planning ahead.

Liquids? Any liquid you like BUT: The Kanger is plastic and some liquids are known to crack plastic tanks. The culprits are citrus type flavors and cinnamon. Feel free to ask if you have any concern about a specific flavor being used in plastic devices.

Start your Twist at the lowest voltage when trying something new - be it a new liquid or a new Kanger T3. Or both. You can always dial the voltage up to find what tastes best. But start at the high end and you risk all sorts of things: popping the atty coil, really YARK! flavor etc.

Congrats and best wishes with the experience!

Best advice is search YouTube for videos on your gear and once you get set up if you have any questions ask away. There is always someone here to help or support.

Thanks. I have a lot to learn:) Seems like this can also be sort of a hobby with all the diferent gadgets out there, different liquids and evem diy liquids. Pretty cool stuff, suprized it took me this long to discover vaping.

All I've seen before are those cheap e cigs at gas stations and I thought they were probably just a gimmic. Didn't realize there was way more products out there.

Sounds like you made a good choice. I agree that you will need more batteries. You will need at least one more to use while the other is charging. A couple of spares would be best, but you may want to wait until you try this one out and see how long the battery lasts you.

5 oz is about 150 ml. If you figure 3 ml a day as a rough estimate, that would give you about a month of vaping (you might use more or less). I'd recommend that, right now, you find some vendors who sell sample sizes (5-10 ml samples, some even do 3 ml samples). Order a few sample packs from a few different vendors. IME, finding juice is the hardest part. I usually only like maybe 2 out of 10 juices I try.

Do you know what the resistance of the t3 you ordered is? What did it say the ohms of the coil was? That will somewhat determine what voltage would be good to start with.

It did not say or give me a choice on the resistance of the T3. I think there is a place here in town that sells just the liquids. Will have to check it out.

Hopefully they will have a tasting bar. That's a good way to go if they will let you test them. Lots of times something sounds good to me, then I try it and, "bleh!" Then, the opposite can happen too.

Thought the liquid I ordered came in 5oz but its 5ml. Ok, this sounds like this might be too expensive? I was thinking one $10 5oz of liquid would last a month. Sounds more like one $10 5ml of liquid would only last a day or two.

Anyone know where it get cheaper liquid? Was hoping to cut my smoking cost down from $40-50 a week to around $20 a month.

You can find cheaper juice. I don't really have any recommendations, because I usually make my own (very cheap, but try some pre-made juices before you decide to dive into making your own).

Small sizes are usually more expensive (per ml) than larger sizes. Buying smaller sizes is better at first though, because it sucks to have 30 ml of a juice you hate. Once you find a few flavors you like, you can start ordering larger sizes and save some money.

I know a lot of people like mountain baker vapor. And their prices don't seem to bad. Head over to the general eliquids discussion board to get some recommendations on juice at various price points.

You will spend more money to get started, but stick with it and you will eventually break even and then start saving. Well, you might if you don't turn vaping into a hobby. Many people end up making it a hobby and don't regret spending lots of money for their enjoyment. You can save a lot if you want to though. My signature is about accurate, maybe -$250 or so.

Thanks. Hope to not make this into too much of a hobby, I already spend too much on guns, ammo and car stuff. I need to save $$ in order to spend more on my other hobbies. But I can see this becoming something fun.

That's how I am too. Well, not guns, ammo, and car stuff, but I have other hobbies I like to spend on. Vaping is sort of a side hobby. I like to fiddle with stuff, and make my own juices. Luckily these aspects of the hobby can be done very frugally after the initial investment.
