Welcome to the forum. I'm a new member myself. I've been an analog smoker for 18 years, started young, went from 4-5 to a pack to a pack and a half a day consistently for the past 5 years.

May I suggest trying some sub ohm set ups? I find that at least for me personally its not really the nicotine I'm craving but the smoke and throat/lung hit that I crave.

I'm currently vaping on 3mg and 6mg liquids and the funny thing is, on the very second day of vaping I've cut down to 2-4 analogs a day. Mind you that is from 1-1.5 packs for the past 5-8 years.

I'm down with trying @suprtrkr 's idea of getting liquid in the next nic levels up (18mg and 24mg) and keeping those in separate tanks for when you feel you need the extra nic hit. The ET-S tanks can be found online for $7 a pop and you'll be using the same coils you currently are. This'll give you time to wean off the smokes fully and to investigate where you want to head next with your vaping experience as far as any new equipment goes.

Just wanted to say welcome and congrats on moving towards becoming analog free! It's definitely a trial and error process in the beginning to find what you like and what works for you, but so worth it in the end. I am about 8 months analog free and I am officially to a point where analogs hold no appeal to me whatsoever.

I am new to this forum and not an expert by any means, but my advice would be not to give up when you run into setbacks. You will find what works for you and then its smooth sailing! I've been vaping about 2 years off and on, it wasn't until I invested in a better setup that didn't frustrate me that I was able to totally quit analogs and really enjoy vaping :)
Thanks for the support and encouragement!

Thanks for the advice! I think when I get my next paycheck I may splurge and get a new battery/tank that can do both above and sub ohm, as well as some different juices in diff concentrations. $$ is my only obstacle to experimentation but if I can translate analog savings into digital spending, I should be able to have a zero sum or positive gain.

Thanks, Doug! Weighing investments vs impact - next pay I'll either get some higher mg juices, and a spare tank or upgrade battery/tank to something where I can both above & sub ohm to have some flexibility.

I'll keep the thread updated as I progress.

You're welcome. This is ofcourse my own personal experience with vaping. So I am not sure if it will work for you.

Just some more info, I'm not a cloud chaser, I rarely vape above 30 watts on my current set up, with TC control I found that the 400-500 range is enough for me.

My setup is the snow wolf mini 75W, with a UD zephyrus tank on 0.5ohm kanthal standard coils. At least for me with this setup I find the "cloud" to be enough for my liking. Also I'm more of a straight lung hitter myself.

Anyway, good luck with your search, and good luck with quitting.

If you're looking for kits with flexibility, check out the Evic VTC Mini and the Kanger Subox units. Small, decent units and tanks that offer a decent choice of coils in Ohm ratings from .3Ω up to 1.8Ω depending on which you choose. And FWIW, I still use my ET-S units with 1.6Ω coils for times when I want a lighter vape and use my higher nic level juice in them. Nothing says that you can't have multiple units for differing vaping styles. ;)

+1 on Douggro's suggestion of the Evic VTC Mini, it's my primary mod. Can't speak about the Subox as I haven't used it, but I'm quite happy with the VTC Mini.

@suprtrkr, So true. I've only found one horizontal coil I really like. Joyetech CLR, it's even great with VG.
I've had an Ego One battery and tank for quite awhile now. Haven't really used it much until lately. The 1 ohm vertical coil it came with finally gave up the ghost so I put a new 1 ohm CLR coil in. Big improvement over the CL vertical coil and should be much easier to rebuild or rewick.

Another good horizontal coil is the Eleaf GS Air 1.5 ohm which is a dual coil. It also works well with high VG juice and fits most, if not all, of the GS clearomizers.

Thanks for the encouragement, Hemi - I've heard good things about the Evic VTC Mini for when/if I upgrade my device. It's a little daunting that I could end up using that much juice, as I'm switching mostly to try to quit smoking, but also to try to save $$ as well. I will definitely be asking a lot of questions and weighing options before spending big bucks haha

    Thanks again!
my only suggestion is to attempt to 'chain vape with your current nic level upon waking up,,convince yourself the vape is just another cig brand. as for flavors,, try something fruity/desert to see if simply tasty is enough for you to become more biased to your ecig. i dont know the rig you are using,, long like a pencil i assume.. i had one of those (Aspire somethin),, it lasted me a day before i had to go buy something 'beefier' so i bought a Nebox,, that was ok,, now i have a topbox which i like alot and some RDA's lost in the mail somewhere :0(

anyway,, good luck, and best of vaping to you.

Welcome to ECF Logg, and Congrats on giving up the stinkys.
You'll probably enjoy an Asire Nautilus along with an iStick 20.
Reliable, reasonable, along with good flavor, cool Vape at low watts. Around 8.5 - 10 watts
If you want to make your Coils then try Kayfun v4; mini v3.
Cheaper get an old Russian 91%; Kayfun Mini 2.1ES

That sounds like where I may just end up, Dough. I've heard nothing but good things on the Evic VTC Mini, and I like the option of directions provided by setups like the Kanger Subox. I'll be back to run my options past that gang once that next paycheck comes in, and do a little research on my own.

Hi and welcome to ECF! Use the ego C twist myself. There is a chart of how much nicotine you will find satisfying depending on how much you smoked, might be in the "newbie section". Suprtrkr had a good suggestion when he mentioned keeping a tank with a higher nicotine value when those cravings hit. Logg, most of us have craving for a while after giving the cigarettes the boot but it fades or comes and goes. Good luck! Ginger

In my opinion their CL coils are just horrible. I use high VG and their CL coils just burn. Love their CLR coils though.

I've been using the eGo One Mega tank with their 1.0 ohm CLR coil for about 6 months. Their CL coils just couldn't handle high VG. I just got the ProVari P3 today and love it but the Mega stainless tank doesn't match the polished finish. The Uwell crown looks amazing but I'm a mouth to lung vapor. I'll have to check that tank and coil out. Call me weird but I have to have a tank that matches. Down side is, I haven't found anything that runs a 1.0 ohm coil like the Mega with their CLR coil. Today was my first try with the Uwell Crown and it's a freaking amazing tank but I can't do that direct lung deal. I would love to find a new tank that goes well with the polished P3 but performs like my current setup. I could probably start a thread for that, lmao.
