Hello, I've been smoking for 30 years and I'm really good at it, but not vaping. I can read tutorials all day long but it goes in one ear and out the other. I tried vaping a few years ago but it was a huge hassle and I couldn't get the hang of it. My starter kit had cartomizers full of cotton, and I either filled them too much, or too little, and they tasted awful. I then switched those out to the atomizers and had better success, but it seems that by the time I got the thing to smoke decent it was out of juice. All the juices I bought tasted like chemicals except for one. I could never differentiate between what was bad equipment, what was bad juice, and what was due to ignorance, so I threw the thing in the closet after a few weeks. I just want to smoke, I didn't want to fiddle with it constantly.

These new tanks I see available looked like they might solve a lot of my problems, so I've decided to give it another go even though I don't know what I'm doing. I picked up two Ego-C Twist 650s in a starter kit, because it has a dial and makes me feel special. It came with two ce4 Cartomizers, but I asked them to upgrade them for a few bucks more and ended up with two Kanger EVOD because they looked bigger and prettier.

I must have done something right because these are way better than what I was doing before. I can fill it and forget it, I'm not leaking juice everywhere or getting it in my mouth, and I can get gigantic hits and I don't seem to be overheating the things like I was before. The juices don't taste chemically and I can actually enjoy them. I have less parts so it fits in to the case all nice and neat, and they are also much nicer looking.

I probably spent more than a beginner should, but I'm actually enjoying it this time and I'm not disappointed. Only problem now is maybe I don't get to fiddle with it enough and the big tanks mean I'm stuck with two flavors for long periods of time.

I think I'll stick around longer this time.

And, what a pleasure it will be to have you around.
Sure looks like you began (again) with a heads up... on that equipment you've chosen.

A few more tanks... to experiment with some e-juices you might like... and your old cigarette habits are a gooooner...
And a BIG welcome to your new home on the Internet.. ECF
It's great to have you here!

:laugh::laugh:...Read a few posts, the horror stories abound, most of us went through the same learning curve. I had a spreadsheet to keep track of how much money I was wasting when I started, it got much better!!

Hang around, have fun and learn a little. :toast:

p.s. Welcome to ECF !!

Welcome!

Don't sweat the expenditure. The initial costs will be offset by what you're not spending on cigs, and pro-rate out over time. Getting a setup that works for you is crucial. And once you have that, and sufficient backups, it's just the replenishables - juice and heads.

Actually, the Evod and CE4 are about the same capacity, 1.6 ml. Just get, as suggested, a few more Evods or similar.

Of course, as you browse more and more threads here at ECF, you may get the urge to "upgrade", and add additional items to your setup...

Thanks! All the reviews helped. I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't pick up more tanks and juice on my way home today. I haven't quit the cigarettes yet though. It seems I'm doing a bit of both. I guess I'll see what happens when my carton runs out.

Good equipment really makes a difference. I had a few false starts vaping too.
Wasted money on crappy kits. I finally quit with a ego-twist and nova mini.

Sounds like you got the right stuff to do it this time, especially if you've found a liquid you like.

These tanks make all the difference to me. I'm still smoking cigarettes though. I guess I'll deal with that when my carton runs out.

I'll definitely do that so I'll feel better. I spent quite a bit on a bad e-cig setup and not so great juices.

I'll pick up a few more tanks soon. They have CE4's, CE5's, CE6's, T3S, EVODS, and ProTanks. I suppose I should give them all a shot to see if I like any of them better.

I'm going to try my best to resist the urge to upgrade and buy more, but I already know I'll fail.

That's the spirit!

Lots of variations to explore... but basically, in clearos, there's top coil and bottom coil. They do vape a little differently from each other. Top ones tend to be a bit warmer than bottoms. Your CE4 is a top, the Evod a bottom. And deciding which you like better is the only important part.

There are also choices in material used for the tank portion. Most are polycarbonate plastic, which can be destroyed by some juices. Lots of thread on "tank crackers." For those, you need a pyrex topper like the Protank, Davide, ARO, or others.

And there are other toppers as well. Carto Tanks, drippers and so on. But best to stay in one "class" until you're comfortable and satisfied, then if you want to, branch out. Too many variables at the start can lead to confusion and dissatisfaction with the experience.

A while back there was a thread about "no buy for a month." Nobody made it :)

Hello and welcome.

You may also want to consider having at least one eliquid at a higher nic so you can curb the cravings to smoke cigs. That is what the ecigs are all about. Some members need a higher nic strength when first starting out, and after you get thru the rough spots(of wanting to smoke real cigs) are able to lower the nic strength.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
:)

Good idea, ONE OF EACH, regardless of reviews, find what you like best....:)
