I started smoking e-cigs 11 weeks ago to quit smoking.

A friend had showed me her "best friend" - it was an EVOD starter pack bought from a local vapor store. I bought a kit and never looked back. I was a 2 pack a day smoker and dropped it over night. About 2 weeks later I entered and won a drawing at that vapor store for 2-Pro-tank II (2) and 2-SMOK dial adjustable batteries. (They were horrid). I gave those away.

But I was hooked...With a minor adjustment to the air flow, that Pro tank II is awesome.

I enjoy it a lot, so far I have purchased mainly tanks - in addition to the ones I won, I also purchased a Pro Tank II mini and 2-iclear 30s. I did purchase an itaste vtr but I am not real happy with the battery that came with it. I think I need to get a better cell.

I really want to start making my own juice, any suggestions?
What about the DIY kits you see from some sites, are they worth it?

Here is a great starter DIY kit - The DIY Flavor Artisan's Master Kit - One Stop DIY Shop Store

I prefer the flavor apprentice over the loranns myself - look at Kimmer's recipes on her site also for some ideas

and of course read all of the DIY subforum stickies

I prefer to use syringes to measure with as opposed to droppers (syringes and sharp needles are very cheap at any farm or vet supply stores (ie: Runnings, Tractor Supply etc) -

hope this helps

Professional or LorAnn ? Whats the difference? I see them asking this option.

I found a few places that sell DIY kits, some of them sell the nic separate from the unflavored VG-PG blends while others sell it already mixed.

From those of you who have done DIY e-juice, whats the best avenue to go for a beginner?

I have also been told that flavor extracts are just that, flavor extracts...the same you use for cooking....is this true?

I use The Flavor Apprentice and am so far pretty happy with them. 1.50 for 8ml of flavoring. I use wizard labs for my nic. For measuring, I went the lazy route and bought a professional grade scale that I am really happy with so far. I still use syringes to move the base and nic base around. For the flavorings I bought a bunch of the droppers from Wizard Labs that fit the tops of the 8ml vials. They are pretty cheap so I don't have to worry about cross contamination or washing a bunch or syringes out. I am more OCD so I spent more money that I should have but, it keeps me away from the stinkies! Happy Vaping!
