I'm sure this is a dumb question to veteran vapers but I'm just getting started and I purchased an ego V2 mega and was wondering should I just go ahead and pull the trigger and buy a provari. Maybe someone could give me some pros and cons of both. Thanks in advance.

I just bought a provari and love it but its a lot of money to invest if you're unsure. I started with Egos then before purchasing my provari I bought a sigelei Zmax. After finding out that I loved a vv device I went ahead and got the provari

It's a tough call for someone so new to vaping.
If it's not something you're going to stick with, losing that 200 dollars you spent on a provari may be hard to accept.
Losing the money on an eGo on the other hand is something a little easier to get by with.

In my personal opinion the ProVari is the best Variable Voltage device made bar none. I am however a full on cult member when it comes to ProVari.
I just hate to advise new vapers to buy something so pricy unless they know for a fact this is what they're going to do.
Sorry I'm absolutely no help.

in a warehouse buried near Univille SD
to quote Deacon Aegis from an earlier thread

"ProVari's qualify you to become a member of the ProVarinati, which will make you powerful and attractive to women. You may also get a job at MI-6 with a Provari, and everyone wants to drive an Astin Martin, right?"

this was in a Provari compared to Vamo thread - I bought the Vamo due to $$ compared to Provari $$$ and really like it as I can set the wattage and forget it regardless of resistance of whatever tank I put on it

First big difference I can see right off the bat is the ego battery is not replaceable without replacing the whole thing. I expect my Twist to bite the bullet one day and I'll have to replace it.

My eVic, on the other hand, has a replaceable battery. It it dies I just get another battery. The Provari has a replaceable battery.

Both the ego and the Provari have Variable Voltage (VV). I'm not sure, since I don't own one, if the Provari also have Variable Wattage. (Chime in Provari guys/gals).

No Wattage as of yet. rumors, whispers on the wind that it may one day come, but for now. The prophecy has not yet been fulfilled.

ProVarinati huh? I'm ready for my Astin Martin now.

The thing about buying a ProVari to start with is spending that kind of cash up front is a hugely powerful motivator to stick with it. I personally would have a much easier time tossing aside a $20 eGo than a $200 ProVari because of the cost. But after dropping that kind of cash I would stick with something much longer and really make an effort since I invested so heavily.

Plus, it's the best VV mod on the market.

Ego = Toyota... always reliable ;) well at least the apollo one is... i cant say much for the others cause mine comes with a 30 day money back guarentee and a 1yr warranty.. and 24/7 customer service... so im very very happy with my current setup... i also have wickless apollo clearomizers too.. ive seen some posts about how they are unhappy with their egos with the other brands... but i love mine... your welcome to search youtube for the apollo ego reviews and see what im talking about ;) i think it would really help..

So correct me if I'm wrong in assuming that the provari and ego is like a Bentley vs a Toyota
Yes from a former Provari owner.

Both will get you where you need to go but one cost more and is a better quality??
Provari far better quality and the batteries are separate- when they die out simply replace them for anywhere from $5- $8. Can also use larger mah batts with the Provari and you'll find when vaping at higher voltage the batts drain quicker. eGo class batts when the batt dies the entire unit is tossed.

Since you already have an eGo, try it out for a while. It's not a eGo vs. Provari situation, it's a "next step is ????" situation.
Once you've decided vaping is for you and you're quitting analogs for good, then decide if you want to move up. You might want to try one of the cheaper mods first then get a Provari down the road. Once you make the decision, it won't take long for one to arrive after you order it.

I'd say its more like comparing an H1 hummer to a World War II jeep. Both will get you anyplace you need to go. The Hummer will get you there safely, reliably, with versatility, and unmatched performance in its class. Yes, compared to "era" dollars (not actual as they're 50yrs apart in age), the Hummer costs significantly more, but not an unattainable cost.

At the end of the day, the ProVari provides value in the same way a hummer does.

The only way I'd ever compare a ProVari to a Bentley, is if it were gold plated and custom molded to fit my hand, with a proper butler to fill my tanks/attys/etc :D
