New to Vaping, like the pen style better. Why have an ecig that looks like an analog?

I'm still new to vaping. I have tried different models but I have seemed to be using my pen style more Joye302 and DSE801. I like the fact it looks like a pen and not a real analog. I mean, people put writing tools up to their mouths when in deep thought right? This style is the real reason I chose to stop smoking. If I wanted an ecig that looked like a real cig, I would have just stuck to smoking! I just don't get why people want to have an ecig that looks like the real thing. Oh well, matter of personal opinion.:?:

you may like this then, found it "squirrel!!" thread posted by cdrtrip

I read this on my ... iPhone app a couple of days ago. You are not alone.

Today, my new $100 electronic cigarette came in the mail. I was so excited to try it out, so I used it on the drive to work. The company wasn't kidding when they said it looked and felt real. I threw it out the window when I was done. I watched the car behind me run it over. ...

How horrible. Funny, but horrible

I agree. I see no reason why an e-cig has to look like an analog. E-cigs companies need to go beyond the whole concept of simply emulating real cigs and focus on making the vaping experience better, such is the case for Mods. I find the taste, battery life, and throat hit way more important than whether or not it feels like a real cig in my hands !

Wow! So what kind did you get afterwards? I have to say, I love my pen style. Lots of vapor! Smooth intake. Get the full flavor of my juice.

The first time I took mine in the car I had my gf remind me not to toss it out lol.

As for looking like analogs, I'm of the mind that manufacturers should do everything they can to make them not look like analogs in order to increase social acceptance. I understand peoples psychology of needing something familiar to ease their transition but on the other hand having that familiarity would make it that much harder to make the switch. Realize that you're no longer a smoker. The look, feel, lingo and paraphenalia SHOULD be completely different.

Perhaps some people are self conscious in public and dont want to be mistaken puffing away at something that could look like drug "pipe". Looking like the real thing could keep the attention away.

Personally, I hope that e-cigs/PV's become more common in public and more accepted. Only time will tell.

Tomorrow I'll be cigarette and nicotine free for 3 months using an ecig that looks very much like the real thing. Why? Because I wasn't really addicted to the nicotine. I need the ritual.

The closer to the real ritual I was, the farther behind me my quit day became. So, there's one reason for the pro side of realistic looking PV's. :)

No I don't kow who if anybody actual did it. It's a quote by cdrtrip referencing something form a message / thread they received on their iphone. Was not able to pull it over in the quote box from a different thread (may figure that out some day). Just thought it went along with this thread nicely.

Just FYI, the little button above the posting window that looks like a comic book thought bubble w/ text on it, right next to the insert image button(looks like mountains) is the insert quote button. You can quote anything this.

Some of us are as addicted to the look and more the feel of analogs as we are nicotine - if it doesn't look and feel like a duck, it aint a duck in our heads and, even if it gives nicotine, it fails as badly as gums, patches, lozenges and perscription inhalers did for us. E gigs mimicing analogs is all that does work besides analogs for some of us.

trying it now

edit: thanks for the tip. Can you get the "Orginally Posted by" to show up when using a quote from another thread?

Yes if you put this =LowThudd] after the word quote in the opening code, then it will work.

I bought the plug in e cig pack months ago, it was soooooooooooo awful. I was going to buy the safecig until I found this site and did some reading and asked opinions. I wound up with the Ego and have been using it since yesterday, I love it. I have had three analogs since then, only because I have convinced myself I could never let go of them. Last one a couple puffs in and it was nasty. I have already overfilled a cart and fixed it. I think this could become a hobby! I think the ecigs that look like cigs don't have much punch and turn people off to them. As for the Ego, some strange looks while driving around! :D
