Hi folks. New to vaping (2 weeks)- I started when I got an Npro from a local Pilot truckers station and welp, I'm hooked. I ordered a Janty Dura-C a few days later- I'm finding I like the consistency with the manual switch rather than the automatic "suction switch" in models like the Npro; altho the Npro works pretty well.

From everything I've been able to dope out so far, it looks like what I'd be looking for is a pen-style with a manual switch like the Janty Dura-C, mostly because it looks like the pen carts probably hold more "juice".

I got a bottle of juice that vanished in 5 days... it was only 10 ml but I liked it pretty well; and I'm convinced I like dripping as well as using the carts. From what I gather, it seems like the style with a manual switched battery are less likely to fail because the battery is sealed off from the atomizer.

So; wuzza best (or possible) choice for: 1) manual switch 2) dripping and 3) pen style? If you know vaping better than I do, and you probably do, your best suggestion of a next model for me to pick up would be appreciated!

This R.N. needs to stay off burning leaves and stick with vaping from now on... 39 and 1/2 years of smoking analogs is uh... scarin me 8-o

Janty has one called a kissbox that I believe has a manual switch. But if you want long battery life (7-8 hours), consistent throat hit, a manual switch and replacement batteries that cost $2-$6 instead of $15 - $20, then you should consider a Screwdriver, - The ScrewDriver - An electronic cigarette that simply works, (same size as the 901) or the new US made Prodigy by puresmoker, PureSmoker.com - Your #1 Source For PV's, Parts, & Accessories!. As you can see by this poll, the screwdriver is well liked:

If you really want a to be able to use a penstyle cartridge with a manual switch, I'd steer clear of the Screwdriver. While some people have successfully used 801 adapters (penstyle), it's really made for a 901 atomizer, and it's hard to find adapters (and when you do, some people have had problems with them).

If you want something that truly is a penstyle with a switch, you might want to look at the Janty Kissbox. I get a surprisingly long battery life with it.

Or if you're willing to step outside the box a bit and go with something that doesn't really resemble an analog or a pen, you might want to look at either the JantyStick (which you should be able to order shortly) or the Prodigy from PureSmoker (available for preorder). The JantyStick utilizes an 801 atomizer (penstyle), and the Prodigy can be ordered with either a 901 or 801 atomizer (or if you really can't decide, order an adapter and use both 901 and 801 with the Prodigy).

As for which work best with dripping, I'm afraid I'm not much help on that.

wv2win is a Screwdriver fanboy and JustJulie is a total Kissbox fanperson. That said, they are both correct. The Screwdriver or a DIY modified battery pack that accepts either 801 or 9021 atomizer is just plain awesome. On the other hand, the Janty Kissbox penstyle, the extended package including a USB pass-through, is really a wonderful device, too. You cannot go wrong with either type of device. ou will soon find, though, that cartridges are a royal PIA and that dripping can be much more satisfying.

The best penstyles for dripping are those with a closed off switch/battery type of thing. The ones that come to mind are the Janty KB, Janty Stick, and Puresmoker's Prodigy (which I haven't seen in person yet so can't comment on.)

But if you're a "dripping fiend", I can say with certainty the Janty KB works well with that due to the closed off manual switch. I use it like that now to break in all my new atomizers and test new flavors I've mixed.

Wow thanks for all the suggestions.. so the KB has a manual switch, wv2vn? I have no clue about battery life/cost/how often one replaces batteries, etc. Is there a reliability factor here I'm not thinking of?

I appreciate your comments, Julie, wv, and Brekfastchef; this is helpful... and btw Chief, I didn't say I didn't like my dura :p

I'm figuring out now that I'm preferring dripping as it seems to provide better "throat hit" and them big clouds of vapor that are keeping me off analogs. I should mention after your comment julie that I dont really care what it looks like (penstyle, cig style, hell, it could look like a knotted licorice stick on a box as long as its portable, has carts and drips good).

Mostly, I keep looking at the KB and Janty stick; I dunno if the carts are the same capacity on the Janty stick or KB and the Dura-C. The SD looks ok, so does the prodigy... but uh... my wife is starting to steal the Dura from me so I gotta find something that's available soon before I start to jones for my vape.

Well, I'm not sure I'm a total Kissbox fanperson (or fangirl, if you prefer) . . . I also love my Dura-C as well as my Screwdriver, so I guess I'm a fan of a few different devices. :)

But, yeah, I am partial to the Kissbox. It has such a good feel to it, and liquids taste soooooo nice with it. I'm kind of wondering how my Kissbox is going to stack up to the JantyStick which I should be receiving in another couple of weeks. :)

I'm laughing, because I'm the same way . . . at this point, I'm far more into function than form (although it's always nice when you get both). ;)
