I have been using my mini Ego twist with a c5 clearomizer.

I want to upgrade, I am looking at the k100 and it seems interesting.

Do you guys recommend it?
The K100 is a very popular mechanical mod. It's not one that I have personally used, though.

If you are new to vaping, as you say in the subject line, I would strongly recommend doing some background research before getting a mechanical mod. Read the rechargeable batteries page and Baditude's blogs on understanding mod batteries, read up on mechanical mod safety, watch some videos on mechanical maintenance, own a multimeter and use it to regularly test your batteries, atomizers, and mod. Remember, with a mechanical mod, you're the safety feature. If you're going to do it, do it carefully. :thumb:

You will definitely want the highest quality IMR batteries you can afford and a high quality charger, both from a reputable source such as RTD Vapor, Lighthound, or somewhere comparable.

Also do you have to drip them a lot?
The kit says it comes with cartomizers.

well like I said -- I don't do mechanicals, but to try and point you (ouch)

-we all have a power source (battery)
-then there is a topper tank (cartomizer-clearomizer-rebuildable, RDA)

so an example would be your
K 100 and a, say, Kanger protank screwed on top

the protank comes with replaceable coils (heating element wick/coil)

you can just buy it, use it, then when needed screw another coil in

when you feel ambitious you can attempt to rebuild the coil

the RDAs I bet is what your thinking of, is one of these
and best left till your ready (whenever that might be)

- A6 Mini Rebuildable Dual Coil Atomizer Kit - Stainless Steel

- Kanger ProTank II - Blue

- SmokTech 2.5 ohm 510 Mega Cartomizers Single Coil

probably just fouled you up worse (hope not)

good luck - always ask :)

IMHO i wouldn't get a mechanical mod for your first mod
Like Scarey, I got a mechanical as my first mod (in fact, if I remember correctly, I think Scarey and I both got the Smoktech Magneto first). But, like Scarey, I also did a lot of reading and note-taking about batteries, battery safety, mechanical mod safety, and so forth first.

I do think it's a good idea for most folks to consider getting something with more protection the first time they get a mod. But it can be OK to get a mechanical if you're willing to do the homework and follow through on safe usage.

Alright guys, thank you for all the responses.

I just ordered a k100 kit with 2 bottles of Watermelon juice.

I will also go to my local vape shop and purchase better batteries.

I keep reading about how the batteries that come with the kit are dangerous? Can someone explain how I can take care of batteries and if I need to get new ones?

Thanks guys!
