New To Vaping. Poor First Impression

".....throat hit is kinda an unpleasant sting, not a lot of vapor..."

I didn't see anyone address this, although I may have missed it, I personally don't like the throat hit, and PV makes my stomach very upset. Also PV doesn't make that much vapor. I am a newbie to this, but am retired and spend hours a day just doing research on e-cigs, I find them amazing, I've chosen to go with mostly or all VG, some flavor bases I get are PV, so that's all I put in my mix. I found a lot of good and worthless videos on utube, but have learned a lot. It's not really rocket science to make your own e-juice. I do not make anything off of these companies, but find that they have what I want. I get my USP grade VG from Walmart in the first aid section, very cheap, I like the flavors from perfumersapprentice.com, and go to the DIY section of the site myfreedomsmokes.com, to get your nicotine base as well as bottles and tools. You'll have to experiment with making small batches till you get the ones you like. An on-line calculator to help you is at phinguyen.squarespace.com/ejuice Use at least a 24mg/ml strength juice and you'll be satisfied. It's nothing like suffering cold turkey or the non-sense of gum or the danger of a patch.

I have to admit that my first few days were less than stellar also. Stick with it, and follow the advice to buy a good kit online from a reputable seller and use your own juice. It's so much better.

I am 43, smoked since I was 11. I was so bad that I was getting up in the middle of the night to smoke 3 or 4 times a night! My mom died of a heart attack on New Years Day and I KNEW I had to quit. She smoked till the day she died. I do not want that to happen to me. By day three I was totally analog free and LOVIN' the vapor. It's only been a week and I can't imagine ever smoking an analog again. Even after a week, I can walk up and down my basement stairs without being short of breath. I don;t feel that morning heavy chest feeling anymore.

It can be a little expensive to start out buying the kit etc...but if you keep it up, you will eventually break even faster than you think and save a lot of money. With analogs being 6.00 a pack here and I was smoking 2 packs a day...I'm catching up very very fast.

:) Good luck on your journey!

I do not expect to save money vaping. I smoke RYO. I get bulk tobacco @ $68.95/5lb and that makes about 20 cartons. With tubes @ $2/carton and tax, it works out to about $.30 a pack. Assuming 30 ml lasts me 2 weeks, it is at least double the cost.

What I DO expect to save is my relationship with the most wonderful woman I have ever met and my health, both worth any cost :)
