The Ego or ego-knock off is probably would i would recommend to you unless you absolutely must have something that looks like a cig. If that's true get over to either Vapor for Life or Smokeless Image as they carry those products with really good customer service.

If you get the Ego, I would go ahead and spend a few extra bucks for the "twist" model as it opens up possibilities a regular Ego can't.

We need to know 1. what form factor do you prefer? Does it have to look like a real cig and 2. What is your lifestyle like? do you work in an office say? or are you out on a construction site?

What I would recommend would be based on these factors.

Form factor??? Probably would prefer real looking cig. I work in an office.

Please tell a little about yourself like what brand -lgts/full flavor, how much you smoked. Also if you only want something that looks like a cig or could accept something the size of a sharpee. That will help people make better suggestions.

I currently smoke Marlboro ultra lights and smoke around 4-6 a day.

Ego is one of the most popular starter e-cigs. I have been vaping for about 6 months and I'm using an Ego C-Twist, which is a small upgrade from a basic Ego. Don't let anyone sell you short on these. You can do a lot of things with a 510 threaded Ego, and you won't break the bank starting out.

Thanks! I'm looking for something affordable as well and accessible.

Hi And welcome. I am a bit new to vaping too but I have learned a few things in the last couple of weeks:)

I started with this kit Joyetech eGo-C 2 Upgrade Starter Kit - MyFreedomSmokes.com and some juice. I got the 1000 MAH batteries (longer battery life). It isn't a bad kit BUT I REALLY REALLY REALLY hate the little ego tanks that come with it. The bottoms are hard to pop off to fill them, they are small and they leak.

If I had to do it again I would go a slightly different way and start with one of these 3 kits.
eGo-C w/ CE5 eGo Clearomizer Starter Kit

for a bigger tank
eGo-C w/ Vivi Nova Tank Starter Kit - MyFreedomSmokes.com

For a bigger tank and more flexibility later on (entry level variable voltage)
eGo-C Twist w/ CE5 Ultimate Starter Kit

I am only listing from this retailer because I have dealt with them and they have all 3 systems not because they are necessarily the best deal.

These are complete kits with TWO batteries. That is important as one battery can be charging while you are using the other.

You will also need some Eliquid/juice. I find I am going through 2-3 ML of juice per day so plan to buy enough to last awhile. That said many companys offer sample packs which are4 -10 small bottles of various flavors. This is a good way to go until you find the juices you like. Once you know what you like you can buy bigger bottles of them.

Welcome to the world of vaping and best of luck to you!

Ok well I'd recommend you check out Smokeless Image and/or Vapor for Life. Both of those are pretty well regarded here at ecf. You should know that with a cig lookalike you will be charging batteries every few hours. If you have electricty access at a desk though that might not be such a big deal. You could also look into "passthrough" models which are devices that basically stay plugged in all the time.

You'd do well to start with the Smokeless Image Volt. They have a selection of starter kits that will set you up well. They also sell "e-juice" that you can use to refill the cartomizers you'll get with your kit, and if you do feel adventurous and want to try the "sharpie size" type battery...they also carry the X2 (which is like the eGo, but KR808 threaded) and a VV version they call "Spinner" (not to be confused with the Vision Spinner, which has a different threading). Explore the site after you check out the starter kits and see all the goodies available!

I started with them, and still use some of their equipment. It's a very good company! (not affiliated..I just like them)

I am also looking for scent less ecig I might add.

I will be honest my hubby tells me the only time he smells anything from my ecig is when I use the caramel or the pina collada juices. Otherwise he smells nothing at all. He also doesn't mind either of the ones he does smell.

Hey samlc25,

I am new to vaping and I got a Volt by Smokeless Image for about $50. It is a cigarette style ecig if you are looking for something like that. I would highly recommend the Volt. If you are looking for something a bit bigger, the Joye eGo is also highly recommended by many people on here, either the standard fixed voltage or the Joye eGo Twist which is variable voltage. I personally would go with the eGo Twist for the versatility in adjusting the voltage to your preference. If you were to go with an eGo, I have also heard great things about the Vivi Nova tanks.

I hope this helps you a bit. Have a great day.
