Hi All,

I bought a CE4 starter kit which has an Ego battery (650 mAh) and CE4 clearomizer (1.6ml capacity).

I've had nothing but problems so far with it. The battery is working just fine, but I've had issues with liquid getting into the air hole, leaks, etc. Not sure if I'm just using/refilling it incorrectly or if it's luck of the draw and faulty as I've been extreamly careful when refilling it.

As my clearomizer is disposable and it's on its way out, I'd like to upgrade this. I've been looking at the Kanger Protank mini V2 and think this would be good as I can take it apart, give it a good clean and replace parts.

I'm pretty new to vaping and don't really know what would be the best upgrade? I'm also based in the UK if that helps (not very good with the slang either I will admit!).

Hi Rachael! :)

I am glad to came on ECF.. Welcome.

Have a look around on this website.

Myepack.co.uk

and then ask questions!

Your CE4 is a disposable clearomiser. The mini PT2 has a replaceable atomizer head, which you can replace for £1.20.

Some places will happily charge you £2.50 or even £2.99. In fact, somebody recently paid £20 for 5 on ebay.

However, there is a small issue with Kanger coils (replaceable atomiser heads). They are very hit and miss and often last under a few days before they start taste burned. They also leak and gurgle from time to time.

I use something called an "Aspire ET-S" and put the BVC atomizers in it.

Aspire ET-S BDC Glass Version

..and put it on an eleaf iStick.

PS - other shops which are good and trustworthy.

Vape Escape (the best vendor i.m.o. plus you can get 10% discount if you are on a forum).

UKecigcabin. That is CABIN, not store. (Don't even ask about the 'other' one...)

For liquids

LT e-cigs.

The Alchemists cupboard.

Chef's Vapour

Vapemunki

any of them make good liquids.

If you google "e-cigs UK" google will send you to rip-off sites where your purse might well be emptied....

In fact, out of the top 4, only Totally Wicked can be trusted and they're not exactly cheap either.

Hello and Welcome to the ECF The Nautilus Tank by Aspire has been trouble free for my first month, I have used it on top of a Vision Spinner ll though just got a MVP 2 which is quite a bit better. What ever you decide on have at least one more setup as a backup so you don't have to be vape free if something happens to your main setup. Enjoy

Welcome to ECF Rachael01.

Anything starting with CE is probably not going to be a very good topper for any battery. You're justified in wanting to replace it with something better. The Aerotank series is great, with adjustable airflow and replaceable atomizer heads (the heating element inside, often referred to as coil). The Aspire Nautilus Mini is also another top contender and worth looking at, as it takes the new BVC coils (bottom vertical) which produce nice vapor and flavor. You won't go wrong with either of those choices.

I'd also suggest you consider the Aspire K1. It is an inexpensive mini tank that fits well on ego style batteries and also accepts BVC heads. Usually can find them for under 10$.

Thank you all for the replies and warm welcomes. :) djsvapour - Thanks for all the website links! I'll be sure to check these out and bookmark then.

The following that have been mentioned (Aspire Nautilus Mini, Aspire ET-S BDC Glass Version and Aspire Nautilus Tank) will these fit onto an ego/510 battery?

I know this might sound weird as well but I have to ask... I have an african grey parrot. If I vape indoors with her in the room, will this affect her or is vaping safe around animals? Particullarly birds?

So many different ones to choose from. Having a quick look at them, I'm not that fussed if it is a heated or cool vape. I just want something sturdy that is better than a disposable CE4. Does anyone think the Protank v2 mini is a bad choice or that the ones listed are just generally better?

Thanks again all, and sorry about all the newbie questions!

Welcome to you!! I have to agree that the MVP2 is a good step forward. A step farther would be a MOD with a DNA 20 chip. It will go to 20watts.

There are a huge number clearomizers out there. The Nautilus is really good, but seems that people love it or hate it. A rebuildble tank atomizer (RTA) really upped the flavor for me.

Yes.. no problem. Somebody mentioned K1 - these are good too from what I've heard.

Should be fine if you keep your distance. I've vaped around pets, but don't have birds. Maybe in another room? We know birds can tolerate Nicotine, but not sure about PG vapour... ??

There are loads, it's kind of crazy. I don't care about hot or cold or whatever... not fussed really.

The mini PT2 is my choice over the mini PT3 (for about 5 good reasons). I have 3 of the v.1 and 2 of the v.2.

You can't go wrong really. If you have a disaster with it (unlikely) then I can send you (or tell you where to buy) handmade atomizers for it. They last ages, but you need to do a little maintenance. I don't really like fidding around with stuff, that's why I use the Aspire BVCs more these days.

Oh, and the Aspire Nautilus is HUGE. Even the mini is too big i.m.o. for a regular battery.

For £6.99 or whatever, I'd try the K1 first.
