I just started vaping and I'm smoking about 1/4 to 1/6 the number of cigarettes I smoked before so it's really helping me too. My goal is to quit smoking entirely of course. I used to smoke about 3 packs a day for over 40 years.

I just ordered my second mod so that I won't be without my vapor while one is charging. :)

3 packs a day?? WOW that's something else man. Lol
That's my goal too, gotta kick the bad habit though mine is just a pack a day. Can't wait to try vaping! :)

Hey the notorious welcome. It helped me quit actually I had a choice use the vape or have an angry wife and no money haha. So naturally the choice was easy been vaping for 2 years now I mod and DIY ejuice to. You know what they say happy wife happy life and best of luck. Just vape and life's a joy.

LOL. thanks man really appreciate it. Lucky I'm not yet married. Gotta kick the smoking habit first haha. Good luck to you too! :)

That's a bit of a broad question, and it ultimately depends on the person. Some folks just never quite take to vaping. I smoked for 20+ years and quit the first day I vaped. It really varies. The best I can suggest (not necessarily to you, but to anyone reading and considering vaping as an alternative) is to get a cheap ego setup from your local vaping outlet (usually $15 or so), buy a little juice that sounds interesting, and give it a go. If it works, great!

Hey, thanks for the share! Sadly I can't get it anywhere locally from my country. It's banned. Lol

Welcome Notorious!

I was a PAD smoker for over 25 years. I tried cigalikes back in 2010 and 2011. It was a "novelty" for me, but wasn't sufficient in getting me to quit. I watched my Uncle die from lung cancer back in 2013. It wasn't until I gave it "the ol' college try" back in February 2014 and finally on March 10, 2014, I smoked my last cigarette. I needed to get better gear (and find ECF in order to find the better gear recommendations) and tell myself there was no need to continue spending money on cigarettes when I'm spending money on vaping before I finally let loose.

Are there "adverse health effects"? I don't know that answer with 100% certainty because nothing is 100% guaranteed (except "ashes to ashes, dust to dust" - well, that and taxes....) However, from what I've researched and how I now feel, I believe the effects are minimal by comparison to smoking. No more "gunky coughing fits" every morning when I wake up; no more colds that immediately become bronchitis (for which I'd need PG-based breathing treatments....) No more stinky clothes, hair, breath, house, car, etc.

Would I be better off by not vaping at all? Maybe? I just know for my personality, I would not be a very pleasant person to be around. I don't want to find out what that would be like, and I don't want to subject my friends or loved ones to that experiment :D

I smoked for years, but then switched to dipping. I LOVED smokeless tobacco, I got to the point where I didn't even need to spit. Heck, I've fallen asleep with a lip full of tobacco more than once. I had vaped years ago and knew I liked it, but didn't realize how much it had changed in the past couple years. I decided to give it another go and have not dipped since! No B.S. when I left the shop (bought an Istick 30), there was half a can of tobacco in my car, I never once opened it. Seriously, from the second I got my mod, I was tobacco free (YMMV).

To me, vaping is all the "cool" things about smoking but without the hot/dry crappy feeling in your throat, without the stench that permeates your clothes, without the yellowing teeth, and without the (same level of) health risks.

The best part: what other form of nicotine habit is also a hobby?!?! I mean sure, a smoker can have a cool lighter or a case for their cigs, but it is not even on the same level as this. Vaping, for me, is a cross between a habit and a hobby.... kind of a "Habby" :D

Awesome share man! And thanks to you, I've learnt a new term, habby :D

I smoked 1 pack a day! Or every two days. Camel lights btw. And i had to quit so bad. I was getting kidney stones and my health was in shock. Breathing evrything bad. Only one momth ago i started vaping and i have not picked up a cig since. What these e cig stores do to make more money is guid yu in the smaller direction. And they shouldnt. They should guid you directly to an istick 30 and some kind of tank. They tried to make me buy a pen with some cheap colorful plastick bottle for the top. ANd i was like na man, i want to spend 100 dollars and quit smoking. And it worked,.

I started dipping december i still dip somtimes. Only if the vaping doesnt do the trick in th emorning or at night. Almost the same story!!! I have half a can of cherry cop just looking at me from the shelf haha.... Vaping is the greatest way to quit smoking. Finally a cure! I just hope this .... isnt gonna kill me..

Good luck to you theNotorious. You'll do great.

I smoked my last cigarette 2 weeks ago and have no desire whatsoever to ever pick one up again.

Majicjosh, you are so right about shops wanting to sell the cheapo starter kits first. I wish I would have known that before I started with the ec's a few months ago. I just use it as a spare while my Istick is charging, so it's still getting used.
