You can get the cap off. I boiled some water and held them with tongs so just the end cap was submerged in the boiling water maybe a couple millimeters down. 45 seconds later and the cap popped off like normal, and I scraped the glue out from inside the carto.

As far as cleaning, you can go your usual route once you get the cap off, or you could boil them to clean. I've heard to use slightly less than boiling water to prevent the filler from expanding too much and destroying the carto, but I haven't tried this yet. Will let you know when its time.

Thanks jg. Last week I boiled some cartos without the caps but threw the caps in for sterilization after taking the pan off the stove. It wasn't boiling but still hot. Some of my caps shrunk. 8-o Or melted smaller. Something. So I was curious if that would happen sticking them in actual boiling water.

I only did it for 45 seconds but yes the cap is a LITTLE loose, but not horrible. It stays in as, but I can pull it out by biting on the cap. Maybe try it for like 20 seconds and see if that melts the glue enough. I wouldnt place the whole carto in boiling water though. I dont care much about the caps because I prefer to use a 901 mouthpiece.

For anyone wondering, I will run down how to do it real quick. You can use it as just a mouth piece, or you can use it to hold even more liquid. What I do is use the flat tip 901 mouth pieces. I cut them down to right at the second hole on the side or slightly longer. You want to make sure it isnt too long, or it will shove the filling down. If you leave it without filling it is just a comfortable mouth piece, but you can leave the poly fill that comes in the mouthpiece in there, and cut it down just a bit. Heat up a paper clip and poked it through where your lip would normally cover (right where the curve ends closest to the atty) this allows you to still use the condom filling method from the battery side.

I cut down the polyfill so it just hits the carto's polyfill. Then when your ready to refill, you can cover the mouth piece with your finger, fill from the battery side, and stop as soon as you see it start to come out the hole you made. Once you get use to it, you can do a little less, because the first couple drags do sometimes bring juice in your mouth, but you get an extra 15- 18 drops in there. I know these carts are high capacity alread, but this lasts me all day.

Credit goes to... I will look it up, I posted a link in the main vapornine forum area for the guy who came up with the idea, and his videos. The 901 mouthpiece fits tightly in the carto hole, and its a nice fit, and I like it alot better than sucking on the carto itself.

It was DogsBody that came up with the idea. I've been using cut-down 901 carts as mouthpieces for quite a while, because the whistle tip is much more comfortable for me, and allows me to easily 'top up' the carto with a few drips every so often, especially on the PT.

I haven't tried the trick of leaving the filler in and poking the hole for extra capacity because I'm too afraid of getting mouthfulls of juice! The small D-shaped hole is where your breath is drawn in, and if that's surrounded by saturated filler, I don't see how you don't get juicy-mouth.

But it works for DogsBody, and you say it works for you, so I think I'll give it a shot. Good project for tomorrow, eh?

BTW, these are seriously high capacity. By using the Taryn Spin (once full, put battery end condom on, drop in a battery bag or similar battery side down, and give it a twirl to force the liquid into the lower batting) I measured 1.4 ml going into one of these things without any gurgling or juicy-mouth. That's a lot of juice, folks.

Wanted to ask about heat problems with these cartos, I have recently switched to cartos and have been having some heat problems with refilled cartos. Thats mainly the reason why I don't remove the paper it acts as a heat shield but even so it still heats up pretty hot that I can feel it on my lips. I'm using cartos from other suppliers(don't wanna name them here because these is a suppliers thread) and I use them either on the V2 or V1 resistored prodigies and they heat up after a 3 sec drag. On a regular 3.7v I tried a 7 sec drag and no heat problems.

I know that the problem is most likely because of the higher voltage:-x:-x, but I wanted to ask others who have used this product with a 5v mod, if these new cartos have the same result (or is it just me):(:(. Other than having higher liquid capacity are there any other advantages to using these instead of your garden variety cartos:confused::confused:. And also I wanted to ask these new cartos do they have the same resistance as the regular ones mine reads at 3.6 - 3.8 ohms.

Any atty or carto is going to heat up very quickly on 5v, it burns hotter, and its metal right underneath the sticker, so it spreads the heat very quick. You are going to have this problem with any of them out there, unless someone comes up with a ceramic style atty, or some kind of insulation (which would take away from the capacity)

If you look back a couple posts, I talked about using 901 mouthpieces on the carto's and they work great and would prevent your lips from feeling the heat. I dont think it would get hot enough to melt the mouthpiece as long as you kept it away from the atty inside.

The benefits of Ben's Cartos is the higher capacity, the flavor really shines on juices, they are strong (I ripped the atty out on accident, uncoiled it all the way, and the contacts didnt break), the vapor production is like a fog machine (check out my picture) and throat hit is just about perfect. I love these cartos and wouldnt order from anywhere else.

Got some of these in, along with Carolina tob. and coffee...

Cartos: Awesome! All black looks sweet on a chrome auto batt with silicone led cover:) Hit's like a champ, best flavor of anything this "hot" :) And it held about a ml and a half... Very Nice!

Coffee: I like it, it's somewhere in between the super sweet "***chino" coffee's and the str8 bitter bean types.

Carolina tobacco: Very nice, Again kind of a middle ground between the crazy sweet and ouch bitters... I dropped a bit of unflavored VG nic in about 20% and POW, totally rocked my socks!

Whole order absolute WIN :)

Only thing I would change is the glued tips (broke mine but I use 901 whistle tip anyway sometimes) and, hey, um... could we get the tip in black on the black carto??? THAT would be AWESOME!

neat. I like the idea of a lanyard of some sort and was thinking the same thing as josh.. maybe take something similar to an end cap from a carto and put it on a necklace..kind of like a lighter leash. I appreciate the craftsmanship of the leaford lanyard and think they're really cool but they're not really my style :p

what if someone came up with a sort of lighter leash type thing, but made the rubber the right size to fit around the ash cap side of the battery? I would use it for my mini kr808 batt's, my megas might hang down a bit too much.

Maybe its a horrible idea altogether.

Who knows.

Josh

nah, i'm actually in the middle of making something exactly like that. :D i'll post it when i'm done. ;) it does have a rubber holder similar to the lighter leash.

what i really came in here to say tho, was that i love love love these blanks. :D i already reviewed at length on the blog and will do a vid review later, but basically--they've freed me from my 5V PT cause they make the battery experience soooo much better. they vape very, very consistently which i love, and... not important to some, but of disproportionate importance to *me*: when you peel the labels off, they don't leave adhesive all over the carto that has to be cleaned off with a solvent. :D

i do wish they had more easily removed caps, but other than that, they're ace.
