~Jo~ classic rookie mistake. Always check forums first! haha j/k. Its good to hear it straight from the horses mouth sometimes, so to speak.

I have around 50 of these cartos on their way to my door step, I am a big supporter :) I love em and they are my daily use now, in fact my 901 and other cartos get no love anymore, I kinda feel bad for them. *caresses 901* "We had a great start, but its me, not you. Ok its actually neither of us, its Ben's fault" :)

you're right about the resistance but wouldn't a thinner wire heat quicker? Like a light bulb filament opposed to a metal rod?

Sorry for the delay in responding to this... I was busy bashing my head against the keyboard... ;)

While you have a valid point... the thermal "mass" or thermal capacitance that we're talking about here... in comparison to the other factors like wattage, convection cooling, conduction cooling.. etc.. etc.. is so small that the transient response (heating up from an ambient temperature) isn't really a significant factor.

I was doing some analysis on your new cartos earlier tonight while doing a "thinking out loud" discussion with one of the forum senior members and "experts". These cartos are one of the rare examples of how one can actually get increased apparent performance (vapor production with flavor) without using the knee-jerk big-hammer method of dropping the resistance in order to generate more wattage. In a super-geek kinda way, it's an interesting equation that balances heating with cooling. Heating obviously from the power delivered to the coil.. and cooling from the airflow, conduction to the liquid, and the actual act of vaporizing a volume of liquid. If a cartomizer or atomizer is working at a nice balance, the outer body of the unit won't actually get very warm at all. Any heat transferred to the outer shell is.. well.. wasted heat. These cartos appear to have a very nice equational "balance".

It's very surprising that I got any dates at all in high school...

So I'm learning. I haven't spent a lot of time in the vendor forums, so I forget. Glad to hear the awesome reviews since I already bought them.

Are you kidding?! I love reading your posts, even when I don't understand them completely. (I'm not an idiot, I just don't understand electricity, and until now , I've never had a reason to learn.)

Besides, you look *just like* Hugh Laurie. ;)

Why thank you! But some folks thought I looked better back in my longer hair, ginger, cross-dressing days....

and it's pretty awesome. ;)

that's something else i noticed about these and... love. since i peel the labels off my cartos. i think it's a real advantage, too. i haven't compared this aspect to the "other" new cartomizers yet (should get 'em today tho). so many of the ways e-cig tech could stand to be improved revolve around efficiency but we've seen more 'throw more power at it' mentality than anything else. these seem to be a step in a better direction.

thanks Scott, you're awesome. It is all starting to make a slight bit of sense in my head. :)

I totally agree with Belletrist here. Put one of these on a 3.7V device, and it performs (possibly slightly better than) a 'standard' old school carto on higher voltage. Put one of these on higher voltage, and for me, it's a bit much. It changes the flavor a bit and heats up more. One of my favorite things about these new V9 cartos is that they DONT heat up as much as other 'premium' brands, as they do not operate at a lower impedance, so I don't want to negate that positive effect by throwing more voltage at it. Especially since it doesn't buy me any other improvements. This is all my experience though, and your mileage may vary. I've heard others rave about the new low impedance cartos on HV mods. It's just not my cuppa tea!

I can tell you for sure though, if you run your mod at 3.7V, you will see a difference, and I'm willing to bet you'll like it!

i personally don't like these at 5V; they do, however, improve the 3.7V experience over standard cartos, gmav44. so if it's a voltage issue you're thinking of, keep that in mind.

Thank you for the response. I run everything at 3.7 and probably will not explore the 5V thingy. I'm happy with a good cart, battery, and juice. I hesitate to mention vendors on this thread but the person I received the Chameleon from has gotten a new batch of carts in as well. Person states the exact same thing....not so great at 5V. I don't mind spending the money at all for good carts. I just don't care for throwing them in the waste basket like a 10 dollar bill. Some of these are just plain terrible and do not work.

I appreciate your response Belletrist and I await more feedback. When my KR XL batts die I will be running the Chameleon almost exclusively. Need to know before I buy carts.

Thank You!
