Hi all
I stopped "smoking" 3 weeks ago and have been reading up loads on ecigs. I have a VIP e cig and a SKYCIG. I'm really interested in DIY juices and wondering which tobacco concentrate is the best one? There are so many on the market that it's not possible to try them all, so could do with a few pointers in the right direction. I did smoke roll ups using golden Virginia and am looking for similar taste. Any advice would be great!

Afraid I have absolutely no idea but wanted to say hi!

Oh and ask a question. Why does the juice need to taste like tobacco? Nothing against Golden Virginia spent a couple of years on the dole and it was my saviour.

Something to think about. You have successfully replaced your nicotine source. Why not make a complete mental break from it as well.

Anyways have fun on ECF!

Hi and Welcome! I've not tried DIY either but know that the DIY forums have plenty of advice, recipes and info about the art of making the perfect juice. After you've reached 5 posts and the server has refreshed, you can post some questions in there and probably get all of the advice you need.

Congrats on 3 weeks smoke free!!! Keep us posted on your success.

Thanks for the replies. I bought the VIP starter kit as it was relatively cheap and Skycig had an offer on too. I felt I'd opened up a can of worms when I looked into ecigs lol as there are so many on the market and couldn't decide on the best. I'm not keen on spending loads on cartridges as this equates to what I was spending on smoking. I really am just after a cheap alternative with decent battery life and good throat hit. I definitely will switch brands once the battery packs up on the two I have, but will be back to square one deciding on the best/cheapest?

MrsT, the better e-cigs are those that don't look like real cigs. A good next upgrade for you would be a Riva 510 1100mah. It's more the size of a cigar. 510 means it has a thread that you can buy so many different things to fit it & 1100mAh would give you at least a day between battery charges. I believe the sky & VIP e-cigs are only about 180 mAh so only last a couple of hours between charges.

I'd also recommend using Boge cartomisers with a Riva - really cheap & can be re-filled with e-liquid several times over.

If you order the Riva from Vape Escape, (use discount code ECF10 for 10% off) you can ask them at check out to swap the atomisers & cartidges that come with the kit for 10 cartomisers -

The Riva 1100 Deluxe Kit £34.95 - Deluxe Vaping Kits - Riva 1100 Kit Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid

link to the boge cartomisers from the same supplier (his customer service is 2nd to none). -
Boge 510 Standard Resistance (5) £5.79 - Vaping Spares - Cartomisers Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid

You would then need some e-liquid as well & the Grizwald juices the above sells are really excellent (though not the cheapest juices).

lots of us in the uk rate oksmokey rollup flavours. As you probably already know you can never reproduce the taste of burning tobacco, but there are plenty that trigger a similar spot in your brain.

for me, nothing comes closer than vapenstein and halo.

I know what you mean by can of worms! it took me 6 months before I began to think that I knew enough about all this

you have to find a store nearby so that you can taste.
RY4 is a good all day juice you can find one in the uK .
cloud9 is a good choice for organic juices caramel is the best you have to try it.
At the end of the day you realise that vaping isnt like smoking and you have many choices other than ashtray flavours.
try fruits also for an afternoon alternative why not .

Hi Mrs T, welcome to the forums. I would say, why limit yourself to tobacco flavours. There's a world of fun to be had DIY'ing your own flavour experiments.

Most of my mixes contain a tobacco base and then I tend to add other flavours to adjust the taste. Couple of good places I can recommend are:

Liberty flights for their flavourart and perfumers apprentice concentrates

Vape Escape for their concentrates and Grizewalds pre-mixed juices

e-cig liquid for their nicotine and pg - I haven't used them yet but lots of guys over at uk vapers recommend them

Boots for VG if you intend on using it with or instead of PG. Glycerin is 89p per 200ml !

Hi Mrs T,
I'm a newbie too though been DIY mixing for the past 3 months and I'v tried lots of tobacco concentrates. I'm no expert but I'd say for me I'd say the best tobacco is Decadent Vapours American Gold I have a sweet tooth and the American Gold is a nice sweet tobacco many others I'v tried seem to taste perfumey. I buy from Libertyflights.co.uk they have great prices and you can get everything you need there from unflavoured eliquid, concentrates, bottles and plenty of other stuff. the way I learned was start small and add a little at a time. Now I hardly ever buy pre mixed unless its a flavour I want to try or can't get a concentrate for. I'f you like a nice tasting GV try this site Paradise Vape UK under tobaccos he has a nice GV called Golden Virgin

Good Luck hope this helps
