We have one on the back patio under the arbor for smoking guests. The rest... honestly don't recall what happened to those! There's a ".... Bucket" next to the front door.
Give them as a gifts to smokers you are trying to convert with a note stating you no longer need one after quiting analogs with zero withdrawal symptoms.
We still have ours in the places we used to smoke... Never really thought much of doing anything with them until this thread... Probably time to at least put them up in a cabinet somewhere though.
I never smoke in my house so there was no need for ashtrays for me. The only 1 I actually have is a old 1970's blue glass ashtray. It belonged to my grandfather who raised me. Honestly it's probably 1 of tr only things I own that has any true meaning to me. I keep it on my nightstand & toss my change in it, which in turn my 5 year old takes every chance she gets lol.
I've never owned an ash tray, despite 18 years of smoking. Butts go in coffee or cookie tins or whathave you. When I started vaping, I was looking at a thrift store for things to set my atomizers and tanks in after cleaning in order to dry, but separate from the dish drainer so they don't get lost/roll away - an ash tray! (I ended up finding a glass leaf shaped thing I thought was cuter, but I find it amusing that I never considered getting an ash tray until I started vaping!)
I did the same thing a previous poster mentioned. I took my ashtrays and washed them all quite well, and now they hold my vaporizer at a slight angle to prevent any leakage that might occur. It is convenient and gives me yet a bit more of that familiarity with the tobacco cigarette past.
