So far I have only hit a regular cig (20 year smoker) 4 times in 3 weeks. AND...

That title says it all. I'm new and started with the MEGA, not bad for the money. A little leaky but for a 1st MOD I was a happy customer. Then I got a few bucks and bought a KBOX and a Subtank Plus V2 and I am playing with the OCC .05 ohm coils. All of this in just a few weeks.

The person who introduced me to vaping was on a high watt drip set up and I did the Subtank since I can learn about the rba stuff. I'm new...so more or less saying hello!

Hi, sd, welcome to ECF! And congrats on how well you're doing, as you said "The title says it all" !!!

I also re-started vaping based on meeting a friend who vaped (tried, very hard, several years ago to switch to e-cigs, but it didn't work back then, even though (I was surprised to realize) I was on ECF back then! As you might have noticed, it's much easier these days to start out on superior vaping gear!

Learn about battery safety if you are using the big batteries and sub ohming.

Welcome to the world of vaping. But the big batteries can be very dangerous when abused.

Well I am using the Efest 35A purple ones and so far so good, but other than keeping an eye physically on the battery I don't know what else to look at. I know the KBOX should be safe under the current set up up to about 25 watts. 35 or 40 you get the burnt taste from the tank set up.

I also have a quad coil turbo tank that I am tinkering with but it eats the batteries for lunch and is crazy top heavy. Looking to get a Seven-22 to match up to that bad boy.

I have more .05 ohm and 1.2 ohm coils on order to play around with over the next weeks. I do look forward to reading up on the E-juices that deliver well in this tank at those wattage's though.

Welcome to the ECF family and it seems you have a decent eye for quality devices. Do yourself a favor though and look into a set of Samsung 25r batteries they are very good and aren't misreprenting their capacities my friend vented 2 purple Efest batteries in his SMY 260 watt mod and they claimed 35 amp Continuous Drain uhhhh nope guess not and his mod can only support down to a .30 ohm load and he was only at 125 watts so don't count on the Efest to handle a 30 amp load. He got 3 Samsung 25r batteries and has been rocking them exclusively and can run all the way to 260 watts with no further troubles and he said they out last the Sony vtc 4's by 2.5 hours. Happy and hopefully safe vaping.

Impressive upgrade speed. I guess I was just stuck in the stone age forever... Took me a full two years of vaping and going analog free to finally move on from Egos to getting a Subtank Mini, a couple mech clones, and an IStick. I've only had my Mini for like a week and had never built before and have already ditched the OCCs for the RBA and have a pretty good feel for building on it (also have my very first dripper on the way and plan to buy a Kayfun clone soon). You seem to know a bit about battery safety just make sure you are familiar with the Ohm's law (and though the Kbox does have some built-in safety features and everything but I would still also recommend getting yourself a couple name-brand high drain batteries if you plan on dipping below .5ohms like AW or Sony VTC -- I've never used Efest but I do know that they are rewraps and are made from what were good cells but sort of bottom-of-the-barrel) . Also, your Kbox does not have an ohm reader on it so I would not even begin your venture into building unless you have a reliable multimeter at your disposal.

Just spend hours on this forum reading and go watch a bunch of Super_X_Drifter's tutorial videos -- you'll learn everything you need to know.

Did you like your EVOD Mega for the most part?

Absolutely, I have 2 of them. Good flavor, good cloud for the money. I leave the house for short trips with one only and trust I am good for a few hours without worry. Only downside is I can inhale longer than it wants to let me before protecting itself (about 5 seconds?)

*Foggy - I have those Samsungs also, they came with the K-Box, I have been alternating . I cannot say I can tell any difference yet.

If you have any interest in mixing your own juice there are plenty of resources for that here, as well.

It's really quite simple as long as you're safe and keep things sterile and wear PPE while handling (especially nicotine). That is one thing that I actually started doing pretty early in my vaping career. My main motivation was that I could get the ingredients to make 2 liters of liquid for something like $100 when all is said and done (maybe a bit more depending on how many flavors and bottles and what-have-you), where buying them by the 10ml costs you at least 8 times as much.

I have seen places selling the pure 100 nicotine and I certainly have seen tons of recipes out there so I agree it would be a logical progression. If there is a more reliable source for the ingredients, hardware and the recipes I'm all ears to research. Thanks!
