Hey, all! I'm new to vaping, and like many of you, I've recently purchased a Blu starter kit. I have a co-worker who vapes (and is the reason I'm trying this in the first place) and swears by V2.

I see a LOT of posts promoting the fat-batts (look at me, slinging the lingo already :p) and lots that denigrate Blu, but I haven't seen anything about V2, good or bad, that's recent. I notice they have a lifetime warranty...is other stuff so good that the warranty doesn't make a difference? Should I look for a 510 kit instead?

Hi, and welcome to ECF. Since you have already purchased the Blu starter kit, I suggest you use that for a little bit and do some research here on ECF. Read threads about the different kinds of batteries and toppers that will deliver your juice. Pay attention of ease of use and cost of upkeep and replacement. Some models are known for certain problems. It is going to depend on your budget and what you are looking for.

Are you actually IN Nashville? There are several vape shops in your area. Nashville Vapor on Charlotte Pike, one in the Vanderbilt Univ. area and one or two down around 4th and 8th south. Get on Google. Nothing like seeing the items in person and holding it in your hands. And you should be able to sample different juices to get an idea on what you like and don't like. This is crucial to your success.

Note that anything you buy in a vape shop can be had cheaper online. But you have to take into consideration the convenience and help that a vape shop can provide you.

Do your research here and ask lots of questions. There are many knowledgeable people here to help. I started with a Vision Spinner 1300mah and Kanger Evods and Joye 510 attys for dripping. This was almost 3 months ago and I am not smoking and am happy with my equipment. I do not need more, but I may get more. Finding a juice (eliquid) that you can vape all day and be happy with is important. Start with sample sizes from several different companies.

There is a monthly vape meet in Nashville. I can't remember where, but it is listed in this thread. It is held the first Sunday of the month.

This is a Facebook group that gets together every month. Worth it for you to check it out.

A good PV/APV is just that. You will get a lot of new PV's or PV's in general hyped up by first time users, whether it be their first PV or they used crap before. Just be mindful with that... I'll say the same thing about liquid. Access more than one source of information before you gain a trusty BS filter.

Welcome! :)

I am indeed in Southish Nashville (Briley Pkwy. at Thompson Ln.) and have been looking at Nashville Vapor's site. I didn't know about the other two, so I'll have to look for them.

I'm off tomorrow, so I was thinking about going to a Brick and Mortar store. Good to know there's more than 1! Maybe I can make the meet this Sunday - I know I'll have to go alone, pretty sure my husband won't want to go - he dips.

I actually quit smoking using the patches 14 years ago, but I'm trying out vaping to (I hope) curb my appetite - give my hands something else to do other than feed my face. When I quit smoking, I gained 40 lbs over the next 5 years. I had a migraine medicine induced heart attack in Dec. 2004, and lost back down to 105, but I've gained it all back since. I know this is probably weird to most folks, that a successful former smoker would want to pick up vaping (and my husband is afraid that it'll "gateway" me back into analogs - NO chance of that, hate the taste/smell/ash too much) but I really need to do something.

Just tried to post in that thread, but since this is only my third post, of course I can't yet. Maybe by the time I've asked a few more questions and replied to a few more welcomes I'll be able to. ;-)

My co-worker tried Blu first, too, but found V2 at the Flea Market. She loves them, and loves the vendor, and has had really good customer service with them. She says that if you ever get a batt that goes bad on you, you just take it in to them and they'll trade it out for you right then and there, which sounded pretty good.

Stopped in at Vol Vapor today, and walked out with a SmokTech Ego Winder 650mah starter kit (1 black and 1 blue), with the Pyrex Aero 2.5ml Tank in blue.

Also picked up a variety pack of flavors of FogBoss juice, Pyro .8% (cinnamon) is my favorite, and I got 3 of those, plus Birthday Suit .8%(Vanilla), Bear Spray 0% (gummy bear fruity), Family Jewels .8% (watermelon), and Titty Twister 1.2% (no idea, but it's delicious!). The last one is brand spanking new, and will be mixed and available for widespread sale by next Wednesday.

Steve was great, and made me feel less of an idiot for picking a (small) nicotine habit back up after I had successfully quit (14 years!) They are also Gun Friendly, and everyone liked my T-Shirt - Rock Out With Your Glock Out. :p

Hello and welcome!

I have heard good things about Vol Vapor--want to get in there for a look around! I have not yet been able to attend the vape meet but would like to.

I started on Blu too--but two days later visited Vulcan Vape and got a whole new glimpse of what could be--walked out with the set up that got me off the analogs within a week :)

A good tip for newbies since I was there not too long ago... Is watch out for inferior juices. At this time in the evolution of ecigs, it becomes less likely to come across poorly created juice. But, still something to watch for. Glad you got started. I am sure you will notice the health difference right away. Keep on learning and enjoy. The more you learn, the more fun and enjoyable the whole experience becomes.
