Hi all, I wish my first post to these forums could be under better circumstances but I figured I'd ask for help considering how weird I've been feeling lately.

I've been vaping for about a week now. Never been a smoker, but I enjoy the flavors and the smell. Of course not the best reason to start vaping but it is what it is.

I'm vaping only 0-nic juice at 50/50 and experiencing a few weird symptoms. My head feels like it's swimming most of the day. Sometimes I get dizzy. I feel pressure throughout my head and neck. I feel tension between my eyes almost like eye strain. These symptoms pass sometimes and I feel a bit better but they always feel like they're there in the background somewhere. It seems worse usually in the mornings as I'm waking up, so very weird here considering I haven't vaped for 8+ hours... I'm sitting here haven't having vaped all day (an additional 8 hours) and still feeling kind of "foggy". I also feel the issues get worse immediately after chain vaping sometimes.

Theres obviously no way this could be nic-sickness or withdrawal so what could it be? PG/VG intolerence?

The only other thing I could think of is possibly severe eye-strain. I feel that over the past month or so my astigmatism has gotten worse and I have yet to make an eye doctors appointment but it's apparent that my prescription has certainly changed.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I think you have made the wrong decision here. I'll leave it at that.

I have some issues with Vaping and have been doing it for 2.5 years. I consider it a small price to pay.

I have an issue with PG, I get headaches and it irritates my throat. Its not really an uncommon reaction. Try some high VG juice and see if it goes away

Several years ago I developed some conditions. The first was an increased thirst, another was a lot of crap in my eyes waking up, the worse was an itch and rash on my chest and belly. One day it hit me that maybe this was all from vaping. Googled it and sure enough other people complained about similar rashes. Started having my local e-juice vendor sell me high VG mixes. It all went away. Sometimes I'd forget to mention the high VG when purchasing or they don't hear me and the itch would come back. This helped me get into making my own e-juice so I could better control these variables. I don't seem to have any symptoms as long as the PG is less than 20-25% of the total mix.

try 100% VG would be my second piece of advice..

My first piece of advice would be to not bother with vaping...

Even the tiny health risk that might be associated with vaping isnt worth it for a non smoker... just my opinion for what its worth.

But you are certainly welcome here, and if you really want to vape we will be glad to give you some tips...

Yep, sounds like a pg allergy. I would get your symptoms as well when i smoked alot. If you never smoked, then your introducing something into your lungs it isn't used to. I found out my dizziness was from oxygen depletion in my blood. I don't know this, but i would bet that pg, or vg wont carry oxygen when introduced in you blood stream, which it is if you inhale it.

Hi, Naetalis and welcome to ECF!

I noticed that no one but you mentioned your eyes. While it COULD be related to vaping and PG, eye strain also causes headaches.

Have you seen your ophthalmologist?

I'd suggest doing that in addition to the other suggestions.

Hope it helps and you get better soon

Dizziness, mild vertigo ( the swimming feeling), mild disorientation (foggy) ? I think you should go to the doctor. Sure it could be vaping and a mild reaction and nothing more. It could be something more serious, just because the timing of the symptoms correlates with you starting vaping does not mean that vaping is causing it. Lots of people on earth die in a year of heart failure while watching TV, but TV does not cause heart failure.

Not that vaping can't be the cause but with those symptoms you are far better off if you are sure, and sudden change in equilibrium and focus could just as easily be an ear infection coupled with the need to change you eye prescription, in my opinion you need to get checked out by a professional if you want to be certain. Also they can do an allergy/ sensitivity check on PG and VG to see if you have a reaction.

to ecf Naetalis. So nice to meet you and glad you are here. I am not one to run to the doctor of just anything. Easy enough to stop and see if the symptoms go away. If they do, I would try a 100vg juice and see what happens. I have no right at all to say you should not vape because I enjoy it and see no reason why a non-smoker should not. I just hate you are having problems and hope they will be resolved. Thank you for posting this because if very well could help others reading here. Let us know how you are doing and what you find that helps you. Good luck.

Hi! I just want to say i am not a smoker and i chose to vape for the flavors. I am doing it for various reasons but one is to aid in weight loss. Im like you it is what it is. People chose to smoke- we chose to vape.

Any way- i have a ton of allergies- 100% vg is my suggestion. I tried a juice that had a small amount of pg in it today and i was dizzy and lightheaded after wards. Vg is the only way i can go with vaping! Good luck!

I cannot comment as to why you vape. We all have our reasons. I was an occasional cigarette smoker years ago in college then an occasional cigar and pipe smoker. I started vaping due to the smell. It's certainly healthier than my old habit but not as healthy as exercising and eating right which I try to do. It's my guilty pleasure.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions and experiences. I've been doing a lot of reading and naturally it's tough to find accounts of people having the same issue as I am that can't potentially attribute it to withdrawal or nic-OD.

I will definitely try all your suggestions and report back when I feel confident that I'm on to something. I haven't vaped all day and Im feeling a bit better. I'm hoping it's just something as simple as a PG issue or better yet just a need to visit my opthamologist
