Hi. I've been checking out the forum for a couple weeks now and decided to sign up. I starting vaping 2 weeks ago and so far I love it. I'm coming from the fine cigar world, so i'm kind of picky about taste. I usually smoked tins of cigarillos between full size cigars. But now I think i'm spoiled by vaping. I bought an ego style starter kit and a couple flavors of juice on a Thursday night from a local shop. A couple days later on Saturday night after some vaping, I decided to light up a cigarillo. Yuck! Couldn't do it, tasted like garbage and dropped it in the ashtray. I haven't lit up since. I wasn't planning on quitting cigars but I don't feel a need to go back to them. So a whole new world of vaping has opened up to me, which I can see might be a spendy hobby. Any way, after a week on the egos, I had to have a mod. Looked around online and local shops, watched countless video reviews, and talked to some folks that had experience in vaping. Last weekend I bought an itaste SVD from a local shop and an 18650 with a charger. A few days later, I bought another 18650 and a better charger, the I2. Oh, and somewhere in the middle there I picked up a few more flavors and 3 more evods. So yeah, I kind of like to jump in with both feet. I really like how the local shops are sooo easy to shop at. More than willing to take some time and let you sample multiple flavors of juice and help find the tasty ones. I also love how the mod really helps to bring out the flavors more. I have this pomegranate, wow, just a little tarty after-taste, awesome! 6.5 watts on a 2.5 evod seems to be my sweet spot. My other fave is Blackbird that i'm using in an iclear 16 2.0. Very tasty. And they are all 15-20mg nic strength. So yep, i'm really enjoying it and I look forward to learning a lot more from this forum.

Yep, it's funny how bad tobacco tastes after vaping for a few weeks. Glad that you jumped in right away and got a mod. You actually just SAVED a lot of cash by doing it that way. I wish I could go back in time and tell myself to just order a mod and some decent tanks with high end juice. Makes a world of difference getting the good stuff. Good luck on your vaping journey. If you like the finer flavors in life, I'd check out https://fivepawns.com. They make very high end liquid that might suit your palatal needs.

Yes, it is a whole new world! I never imagined there would be so many good flavors. Long long ago I had some kind of analog that tasted like peppermint instead of regular menthol and I thought that was SO unique. Fast forward 30 years to the present... Now I've started doing DIY and have 35 different flavors... I would have never imagined I'd be enjoying an eggnog flavor electronic cigarette (yes eggnog and liking it!) Who would have known. There are so many unexpected surprises about vaping (good ones!) that you haven't even had time to discover yet but you will as time goes on.

Congrats on deciding to vape! I am new here too, although I have been lurking for months. lol! I started vaping about 6 months ago and have almost completely quit smoking, except when I drink alcohol, which is like 1-2 times a month. I still can't shake those cravings while drinking, but I guess it beats what I was smoking before! I need to get myself a mod too, still a little unsure about what to get!

When i was deciding on my first mod, I narrowed it down to what my local shops had. I just felt more comfortable going to them in case I had any issues after purchase. Some of the ones I considered were the itaste MVP 2.0, the Vamo, the SVD like I bought, and the Sigelei Zmax V3. To tell you the truth, I would have bought the MVP 2.0 if I hadn't heard about the button being hard to push. But now I like the idea of a telescoping mod in which I can use different batteries with. Whatever you get, think about it having an ohm checker. It really helped me get to a better starting point when setting voltage/watts and then tweak from there. The SVD is pretty straight forward as far as menu goes because it's not really a menu. You push a button or 2 button combo to change between ohm resistance, voltage setting, watt setting, and how much battery life is left in volts I believe. You can youtube all of them as there is quite a few videos about each. I have a buddy with an evic and itaste VV pen style someting or other and he likes both a lot. I think I couldn't have gone wrong with any of them, I just really liked the look of the SVD and that helped make up my mind. But, i'm sure it won't be long before I buy another one of the ones I mentioned above. Happy hunting.
