Hi everyone, I recently decided to quite smoking (been puffing for 10+ years) and got myself a starter kit (joyetech eCom). I'm using joyetech's USA Mix liquid now (18 mg), but would like to experiment with the many other liquids in the market. I'm especially interested in 100% VG options, as I'm skeptical about what PG is doing to my lungs.

So my problem is, can any brand of liquid be used with a particular mod? Or does it depend on the PG/VG ratio? (may be the vapor density etc. is different). And is there some place where I can place orders from multiple vendors at once, instead of buying one bottle each from different vendors and incurring shipping costs for all of them.

wouldn't that be nice :D . i would suggest a 50/50 pg/vg mix as the highest VG mix with conventional clearo'/tanks. otherwise it won't wick quickly enough. if you find you really have a problem with PG then you will have to explore other options such as dripping (rda's). GL and there is a lot of help available if that is necessary .

My advice would be buy liquid only made in the US and visit a local shop to test different juices before buying blind online, even if recommended not everyone has the same taste. I tried juices that were said to be popular and hated it.

Um... well... far as being skeptical about PG, you aware it's used in asthma inhalers and to deliver medication to the lungs in, heh, vapor form? No, not kidding here. Not in the least. It's widely used in medicine. Including in injectables. Some meds don't dissolve well in water so PG is used.

That said, the "brand" of juice is essentially irrelevant. The device don't care. The "issue" is more than VG will tend to "clog" a coil head more than PG. I used to prefer 100% VG myself and it does mean having to soak the coil heads more frequently but it was never anything so problematic I fretted about it.

VG is also known for muting flavor to some degree or other but is considered better at vapor production. So I ended up splitting the difference and use (roughly) 50/50 these days.

Oh, fog machines? They use PG too. And people who work around them all the time? It's not considered a health risk by any regulatory body though the folks who work around them breathe PG all the time. PG and VG both have the safest rating that exists. GRAS. "Generally recognized as safe".

Myself, I'm more worried about the crap coming out all those car tailpipes I'm forced to breathe all the time...

Yup E Cigarette | Buy Electronic Cigarettes | E Juice - Mt Baker Vapor is a good all around place to order from. Lowest prices, big selection, quality totally customizable juice and super fast shipping. They also give a free 15 ml sample with any order over $15 which you can pick by leaving a comment about a juice you'd like to try when checking out. "vaporfrombaker" is the standard 5% off coupon code too! The juices are usually made and shipped within 24 hours of placing an order and take 2 to 3 days delivery (at least for me from Washington State to Maine!) The only down side to freshly made is the juices usually need to steep for a week or two before they taste up to their full potential.

I really like their Salacious Strawberry, Zebra Stripe Gum and Blu Moo.

I agree wholeheartedly with you about MBV, Btsmokincat. While I may shop around all over the net, I always go back to Mount Baker, and I learn something with each new order. Like what my favs are (Black Clove, Coffee Liqueur and Faux Hawk), how many flavor shots I need to add to really boost the flavor, and how many ml to order so I always have some steeped and ready to go. :)

Mount Baker Vapor and ECBlend are good places to start exploring. They're decent budget juices and some of them are quite good. You can figure out what flavor profiles you like and go from there.

If you like tobacco flavors I'd suggest Good Ejuice's Naturally Extracted Tobaccos which are more expensive but quite tasty.

Nicoticket and Bionic I would recommend if you want leave the budget realm as all of their products are delicious.

Wow... thanks all for the advice. I'm definitely loving this new hobby, seems like there's a lot to explore !

Hello vsharsh. Welcome to the forum!!!

My advise would be to take things slow and work with trial and error. Everyone has different needs and we don't all vape in the same manner. When it comes to juice ratio and specifically PG/Propylene Glycol you'll have to try it and see if you have any adverse reactions. I vape much higher PG as I need the flavor and throat hit most, the clouds are a far distant second. You can use all juices with any hardware you have but remember that coils will wear out faster with darker juices and higher VG may not wick well with all coils. Your best bet is to go 50/50 as that is the standard. You can also adjust to 30/70 PG/VG. Different vendors offer different ratios and some are already fixed.

I'm not going to suggest MtBaker or EcBlend as I personally don't care for their juice. It's far to alkaline/metallic tasting and you have to steep for three weeks. It's cheap and they do provide good customer service but in the end it comes down to what you can afford and if you are willing to let your juice age as opposed to using it right away. I recommend these companies to you.

I have tried a lot of juice over the years and these are very good vendors. You can order a few bottles (start small) 10ml or 15ml from each company to get an idea what you like. All the best:vapor:

I found The Vape Mall. They have a great selection and you can buy small sample packs. After a bit of trial and error I use:
555 for tobacco, Coffee with a Kick and Black Cherry. I am trying their Mocha with an extra shot of flavor. The first bottle was a bit bland. Mix is 60/40. I steep everything for 10 days. There prices are very reasonable. I was buying locally when I first started the the retail store was expensive and sold me clones instead of brand name batteries etc. Spinner II for battery and EVOD tank. Works great for me.

I use the 100 vg variety but that's because that is what the closest local shop sells. I'm hesitant to order online. I'm in Canada and it isn't exactly legal (or illegal for that matter) and I don't like giving my credit card info to random places. The tastes are good, not strong.

The health aspect really is an unknown. I'm not going to blindly think this is healthy but I don't think it is worse than smoking cigarettes. Some people who are smoking see me vaping and try to lecture about how bad it is, health Canada doesn't like it, there are carcinogens in it etc. maybe there are but at lower levels than smoking from what I gather...then again these are the same folks who told me not to try Wellbutrin because it's actually a big bad antidepressant or to use the gum because it causes cancer... Um. okay buddy. Both worked for me just fine, for awhile but Wellbutrin destroyed my appetite, ability to sleep and increased my anxiety and the gum gave me headaches TMJ.

Yea, I was gonna suggest mt baker as well. Its dirt cheap. But make sure you add flavor shots (2 is my preference) and steep it before vaping. Basically let it sit in a cool dry dark place for 2 weeks. I vaped mine the day it arrived and it was horrible. Lol. Also, they have coupon codes. Search google for "Mt Baker Vapor cpupon codes" and retailmenot usually has a working one.

Zero Cigs for the rest of my life. I vow it, I own it.

In the quantities you get from vaping PG is safe. In fact it's pretty safe overall as long as your not drinking it straight out of the bottle. It's used in various medicinal substances like asthma inhalers as well as other everyday products like baby wipes.

You may have a sensitivity to it or a full on allergy. So that's something to take into account when deciding what juice mixes you want to vape.

Personally I prefer vaping 0 PG mixes but not because of the above mentioned reasons. PG does carry the flavour of the juice but it also thins out the vapour. The way I see it as long as it's wicking I'm sticking to 0 PG mixes because I like bigger clouds and the loss in flavour can usually be fixed simply by mixing in a bit more flavouring.
