A friend of mine got one from a friend of his, and convinced me I needed to get one and quit smoking. I got one of the cheap (well, the price tag was not cheap) cig-a-likes and gave it a shot, but that only lasted a week or 2. fast forward 4 years later, and he shows up with a vamo, and dct tank with dual coil cartos, and that was it... been vaping since.

Great stories, and so many alike!

Like so many here, saw the Blu commercial and was intrigued, and then the gas station I always got my smokes from started carrying them. While buying some more smokes I asked the guy about them and he gave me what turned out to be totally bad information (1 was equiv to 3 packs, refillable, etc) so I bought one. Turned out it was disposable, it didn't stop my cravings but I was impressed with the idea.

Fast forward a couple of months, and after doing a bit of research found ECF. I didn't want a large contraption that looked like I was smoking a banana or a large shell casing (sorry all mod users, I may want to in the future though). :p I'm not into all the smoking accessories and collecting stuff like ashtrays, lighters, accessories, etc. so I dont think I'll be a hardware fanatic (although that may change). Some of the vaping info, as interesing and amazing as it is, seems a bit OTT for me. I like smoking, the act of it, the feel and portability of it, etc. Just figured if there's something better for my health, why not take advantage of it? I settled on an eRoll after reading the thread here in the 510 sub-forum and found a local seller. I couldn't be happier with it. This was last Friday and so far (except for 2 on Sat) I've not had an analog or any real craving for one.

My experience to this point has been so rapid-fire (rapid "cease-fire" is more accurate, but you know...)
--I started on the NJOY King path mentioned by the OP very recently (two weeks ago)
--Found them to be rather short-lived, and within 5 days had sucked down about 10 of them.
--moved on to try Mistic, Blu and others in order to experience a variety of brands and price levels. Loved the size and feel of the NJOY king and missed it, but the larger, and longer lasting, Mistics and Blues weren't as hard to get used to as I thought they'd be.

--3 more days passed and I had rechargeable versions of all of the above.

--Now, 15 days since my first ever eCig of any kind, I am rolling with an eGO and multiple liquids, and have dwindled my on the go rechargeables to Mistic. I have a couple disposables lying around with various experimental flavors, but don't plan on them being anything other than a backup novelty every now and again.

--can't quite declare a verdict on the liquids I have on hand, but I know the Ego or something like it is a good way to go.
--I just need to find better liquids and learn more. Right now I have clove, Tobacco, and Mocha flavors by E-liquid.
--All plenty good, but not "the one." Kinda like dating that way.

Can't wait to try more. I live in a very paraphernalia-friendly part of the US and brick-and-mortar shops are quite numerous.

I thought I was a hopeless case with my love for Camel Blues and Marlboro Red 72s--and only tried e-cigs on a lark.

I Didn't have a quit date, or a plan to quit, or want to quit. Just was bored and bought an NJOY king. Then another, another, another and another.

Who knew they'd be such a great alternative?

I have dropped nearly 200 bucks on this little bender (which is a strain on my budget), but it's been worth every penny. I haven't quite quit the analogs altogether, but my daily cig smoking has plummeted from 2-3 packs a day , to about a quarter to half a pack. About an 80% reduction. I sleep better, think better, seem to enjoy company more, and don't carry the anxiety around about where and when my next smoke break is going to happen. I still "step away" amongst NS friends or in NS environments--but I don't have to worry about the smell, where to put the ...., having a lighter, finding an ashtray, or starting a forest fire. And I didn't have to "quit" to experience these benefits.

I don't know where this is all headed, but it's been amazingly empowering so far. A very nice surprise.

A lot of my friends started vaping a couple years ago but i just wanted to quit without it because i was very addicted to the oral fixation of smoking and i felt that if i wanted to quit smoking, vaping defeated the purpose for me. I stopped buying and smoking cigarettes in Oct. 2011. But since, ive smoked hookah maybe once a week with a good friend because it was the only time we were able to hang out so it was a ritual. Well for a couple months now, we've both been busy and havent been smoking hookah as often so i decided to get into vaping because 1) i've already kicked the habit of smoking and i feel that im in control of the urges to vape and 2) i dont want to spend $10-$15 every time i want to puff on something so i started vaping in feb with an ego-c and just picked up my first mod this week - itaste mvp - and im happy with it.

So much research i was driving myself nuts. I wanted to start on a simple volt mini e cig but my local shop only had the x2. So here i am happy with my x2 and mini t3 clearo's a week later. Im just glad i finally did it. By far e cigs were the most complicated decision i ever had to make. Im just glad the burden is off my chest cause in the end it wasnt that hard of a Decision. Im 100 bucks in it though so far.

About a year ago on the World of Warcraft Forums I saw a thread about a guy who quit smoking using one of the Volcano PVs(I don't remember which). Thread got huge like 20 pages with person after person explaining how it worked and how well it had worked for them. That got me interested. For years I had been smoking, hating it, hating myself every time I lit up, and completely unable to quit.

But I had tried a gadget back in the mid 80's that was a plastic cig shaped tube that you sucked on and it supposedly gave you nic and flavor but no vapor or smoke. Didn't work at all for me so I was really skeptical about ecigs thinking it was the return of the crappy thing I had tried years before.

Being desperate I saw a cheapo cigalike starter kit at the gas station and grabbed that (I don't remember at all what brand and the battery doesn't say). It worked. It worked amazingly well but I couldn't find the refills for it. SO I checked into the Volcano gadget the guy had talked about in that forum thread. Unfortunately the $100 bucks a setup would have cost me just wasn't in the cards (lump sum) at that time. So it all went on the back burner.

Last Feb I ran into ANOTHER thread on a different gaming forum where a whole bunch of people were discussing vaping and how it helped them quit. I got to talking to them and got some recommendations on a starter kit. They suggested an ego-C and some good sources for the hardware and juice. Well financially things are better now so I took the plunge. Haven't had an analog since the day my kit arrived in the mail.

a coworker saw me smoking and said "you still smoking analogs? you should go digital!" and busted out his little greenliving ecig. i was curious about it and he told me it was an alternative nic delivery system, no odor, he could do it anywhere. i was not really sold but as days passed i kept thinking about it. one day at the gas station where i buy cigs, i noticed they had some disposables. i thought hey its worth a try... my money is tight so in order to get one, i had to forgo the analogs for the day... i decided to take the plunge. i bought a FIN disposable. i was pretty surprised that it satisfied my cravings, and definitely liked that i could use it almost anywhere, including INSIDE MY HOUSE and in front of my wife who HATES that i smoke. the battery died in about a day, so it was back to analogs, and i felt that i actually missed the ecig. searched around and found that walmart had the FIN starter kit for $15. bought that, and 5 refills.

have been on and off for a few weeks now, experimented with the BLU carts on the FIN batt, occasionally back to analogs but the more i smoke those, the more it makes sense to me to move to ecig/vaping. been trying to get off those damn things all my life, this makes it too easy! and i love the gadget-ness of it all, too =) found this place, lots more reading, decided to get a twist and get my vape on. i told my coworker (the one to turned me on to it in the first place) what i was up to, and hes blown away =)

my twist is scheduled to arrive TODAY, im pretty excited =D tho i will definitely keep my cigalike FIN, it has its uses and it opens the door for me to get other smokers interested.

I have been trying to quit for a very long time. I have not smoked in my house for the last 10 years. My boss told me her mother was had with e cigarette and a new shop had opened in town, Tastefull Vapes, checked them out. That was it for me, still had half a pack of Newport that I haven't touch since my first vape. Now I don't smell I can be in the house, car and around me kids and wife. All around won win for me.

I had tried everything with no luck (my heart wasn't really in it). One of my co-workers urged me to try vaping and when my oldest daughter had me try hers I took the plunge. I got tobacco flavored ejuice thinking that would help me over the hump and have discovered not only do I not want to taste an analog, I don't even like that flavor of juice. Butterscotch tobacco, well--yummm, but regular==blech. :)
After 30 days and no analogs I am a happy camper on this. No more stinky clothes, I can vape in the house (I never smoked inside or in my car) and I enjoy it much more! Win win for me - just have to stay out of the vape stores as there are soooo many Shiny Things.

In mid-May I went to my regular tobacco store to buy my weekly carton of cigarettes and discovered that the price had gone up 25%...On the spot I calculated what my 4 cartons (minimum) were going to cost me a month - more than 1 000 shekels, which is about $250. Now, I earn a pretty good salary, but except for bulk cat food for my 5 felines, I don't spend 1 000 shekels on any one type of consumable in a month.

I had a hissy fit. I mean, I was suddenly really, really revolted and disgusted. Nothing in the Pall Mall blues I smoked had changed or improved. It was just taxes. Just somebody's good idea of making money off other people's addictions. I decided I just wasn't going to be the patsy anymore...

Plus, all that money would be going into WHAT? When I retire, in another year, that 1 000 shekels was going to be about 16% of my budget. NO. but I've been smoking for 45 years, and I'd never, ever been able to quit for more than 3 weeks before, social pressure notwithstanding. I never cared what other people thought, smoking was part of my identity.

I saw some disposable e-cigs, but the ones they sell here have, by law, no nicotine in them. I also saw an eGo-clearomizer set up, and bought it, but there was no nicotine e-liquid. Hmnn. Not good. My tobacconist told me some stores might have e-liquid with nicotine but that it was really hard to find - and I'm still not sure it's legal to sell here.

I went all over the city looking, and finally found a seller of e-liquid with nicotine and bought some - Joyetech Apple 16. I charged up the EGO battery and tried my new stuff. WOW. I was sold. My consumption of analogs went down from 30 to 3 or 4 per day immediately. I did have some withdrawal-related anger problems, but the great people here at ECF helped me a lot with them. Thank you!

In fact, as of today, June 1st, I've been completely analog-free for 5 days. I turned 60 on May 26th and this is exactly the kind of birthday present I wanted to give myself. Happy vaping!

I started with an e-cig kit from 7-Eleven. It was a cheap ($14.00) kit and had pretty weak vapor. I didn't use it much and continued smoking analogs for another couple of years. Recently (about 2 months ago) my son ordered a starter kit from V2 in Florida. He really seemed to enjoy it. I gave it a try and it was much better than the one I had tried earlier. He moved up to an eGo-T kit from Totally Wicked within weeks. He gave me his V2 set and I dropped the analogs immediately. Then he moved up to a variable voltage eGo battery and got some juices from Mt Baker Vapor and NW Vapors. I got his old eGo-T set and tried some of his new juices. He has since moved to a Tesla and I got a Segelei ZMAX V3 Telescopic. His most recent purchace is a EA Mechanical Mod. We both have numerous clearomizers, Tanks, Carto-Tanks, and rebuildables. In addition, we've both turned friends and family members on to vaping, with more showing interest every time we vape. Sure beats smelling like an ashtry.

I've wanted to quit smoking I think most of my life. I've tried and failed so many times I've lost count. Groupon came out with a deal for Premium Vapes and I thought well for cheaper than a carton on cigarettes, I'll get it. So me and my girlfriend (who has COPD) ordered them. We both fell in love with them. Her doctor cannot believe how improved she is and I was finally able to quit too. I don't know if this will last. I sure hope it does. I appreciate everyone here who has answered my questions and those who have just read what I have to say. Thank you everyone.
