As I said upthread, I mistakenly came by xl regular cartomizers ( a mistake from a vendor) and right now I am enjoying the heck out of them, even with having to use a needle and all. I almost ordered the xl ceramic a little while ago, but x-ed out of the site because I really have to wait. It was sooooo tempting though!

I've been using a reg 510 CE2 carto since 8-31 -- just took off the cap, pulled the O ring out, filled with juice, O ring back in, put on drip tip and vape billows of lovely tasing vapor!! No leaking or any other problems. I have not cleaned it and it's as good as the day I opened it. I've used many different flavors in it and have never had the flavors taste off. I paid $8 for a pack of 5 and so far this carto has lasted longer than some of the atomizers I've used. I'm sold on them.

I love these things too :) It's great to hear from people like you jjrose, that they last a long time too!

Mine came with a primer, so I rinsed them out in warm water, and then gave them a couple dry burns until the coil glowed nice.

Then I did badkolo's PTB mod from the uber-mega-ridiculously-long thread

Replaced the third cap facing the opposite direction (since it has a wider diameter in the center than the middle ring), and stuck on my drip tip.

I am in vaping heaven :)

Oh, and I had one that got gunky looking on the coil (but worked great still) after a couple days. So I dry burned it while blowing hard a few times until the wick was white and the coil was shiny. Sweet.

It's a great design, wonder if the R4's that just came out are going to be on par w/ the ptb mod :)

Now, if my friends would just order their OWN...I gave 3 out of my first blister pack away. But that's OK since I helped them convert from analogs ;)

Way to go...converting them... :)

So... ahhh... dumb noob question... with background.

I swore that I would never use cartomizers. Burnt filling, short life span... etc. To date, I have not used em. Mostly because of all the horror stories about burning.

I understand that these "E2" cartos are like a regular atty. So... what's the real difference? They are not designed to be taken apart (take atty off of the cart), but other than that, if you can dry burn em, fill em, is it really an atomizer with a large cart? If you can take it apart, why not soak em, dry burn em, keep em......? So now I'm getting confused.

The price is right. Wish I could get atties for $9.00 a five pack.

So,

1) why do I want these when I have "real" atties and carts?
2) I assume you are using these at 3.x volts. What about 5v PTs? (EDIT: nm... re-read the site.)
3) How do you check the filler material/atty to see that it is not burnt? Or, it can't burn 'cuz there is no filler???? So there is a wick tho, doesn't burn??? hmmm......

Because these don't have filler, so the vape doesn't degrade the way carts do. Plus they spew out ridiculous plumes of flavorful vapor.

The design is slick. It's a heating coil around wick atty that pulls up juice through the wick from a reservoir that surrounds it. It wicks a little slow even if you hold it level though, so that's where the ptb mod comes in.

Er, so yeah, you can dry burn 'em and clean 'em - they seem pretty dang sturdy. Which just says to me the price is really very right. I was getting tired of blazing through filler cartomizers before I heard about these.

I'm sooo glad I have some these ordered and should get them early next week.

The PTB mod???? Is that what you described above...about the third cap backwards and using a drip tip? Or if not can someone link to that mod? or list the post number and a link to the thread?

Thanks!

Here you go folks, i have tutorials and demos and tests and all that good stuff on the e2 in my youtube link below.
enjoy.

the ptb how-to is there as well, tailed version and no tailed ptb version

there is a newer version weeks away called the c-e2 R4-FV(final version)
No leaking, no primer, new inner plug and something i cant discuss that will help with the wicking , i prefer the ptb mod myself but if what they did for the slits helps the wicking even further then great.
these are meant to be used like a analog if using the lower ohm e2, if oyu have a higher ohm e2 then those are great for back to back vaping.
but if you do the ptb mod even the low ohm ones are perfect.

there is 2.4 to 2.6, those are good at lower voltage 3.3 and below, if you ptb it then at 3.7 its fine.

the 2.9,3.0,3.1,3.2 are all great at 5 volt and i have a video of that too
the e2 has a robust coil and these things have been reported to last for 30 days, mine have and many others have, but as far as royal smokers is concerned these things should be thrown away after 4 refills, wink wink

DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS!
i looked at the website as i am interested in trying these ceramic cartomizers. it says "not recommended for HV vaping"...what does that mean? the only thing i can think of is "high volume"....well i am a chain-vaper....i vape more than i breathe lol....so does that mean it wouldnt be suited for me?
