i think part of my confusion is that you referred to the ego as a 3.3 V and i always thought that my ego was a 3.7V, the help i am seeking is " what is the best ohm i should order for my ego?

The eGo batt's put out an EFFECTIVE 3.2v because they put out 3.7 volts in pulses - kinda like averaging. I'm sure that's a very simplistic explanation, but that is the idea as I understand it.

Er, so I would go with the badkolo's ohm suggestion for 3.2ish volts.

if you do the ptb mod, even with the wick in place, you can fold up ptb and just place it behind the slits, that will stop the leak, just place the center plug or the inner plug backwards and it wont leak even upside down.

YES! I found the PTB's at Wally's (there were only two boxes left), and did exactly this! Works like a charm...no more leaks.

Thanks so much, badkolo! :toast:

it doesnt have to be, i was just trying to show the whole long process, but you can simple cut a square off the ptb, fold it and plop it in, im able to do both sides (and I cut the wick as well ) under 2 minutes flat.

you dont need to even fold up anything, cut a strip off and roll it into a straw and plop it in behind the slits.

but again, this is for the r3's that leak, or for much better wicking and while these tips work it might not be needed in r4 at all. like i said the news is good on the r4 and now we wait.

if oyu like texastumbleweed send me your addy, ill send you one form the package and one with my ptb mod on a fresh dry burned carto, ill where gloves so you dont have to wrry about my fingers touching the ptb.

I thought so too, hon, but I whipped it up no problem, in a matter of minutes. I'm going to finish making the other four to go into my other E2's tomorrow night. I've been happily vaping away on my PTB-modded E2 all night, and I couldn't be happier! It's worth the hassle, IMHO. But then again, you could wait for the new ones that don't have the issues?

EDIT: Oh, and keep in mind that I didn't take out the wick. I just put the tea bag pieces in alongside the wick. I ain't messin' with taking those wicks out. Don't have the patience. ;)

Just unravel the wicks. Dont use the ptb mod.

I am having issues with leaking, but I've modded them a bit by removing the third plug for easy filling purposes. That third plug is a PITA to remove and I have zero patience.

Anyway, yes, even when I lie it down flat attached to my Joye510 it gurgles quite a bit when I fire it up.

I've been following and using these since the beginning. I've noticed on the ceramic revisions that if you don't disturb the filler ring they wont leak. You can re-seat it but if not done properly it'll leak. Of course there's the PTB mod that 'bad' has already mentioned. That's another option but if you want to vape these w/o modification I'd leave that filler ring in place.

These things are great and like 'bad', I'll never go back to filler cartos again.

I'm no expert  I have only tried the reg 510 CE2's so I can't say as the KR8 ones by comparison, but the big thread has comments from people who have. Far as I know the xl just hold more juice than the regs - but the wicking might be less awesome without some modification ala badkolo or Fish Juice.

Bad - tomorrow for the pics? Dyin' of curiosity over here :)
