I do, in fact, own an eGo and now I own a Vgo as well. I like it and wanted to comment on it, and frankly can't imagine why that would bother anyone. No one in this thread made any negative remarks whatsoever about the eGo and it is the "battery life and slight style differences" I believe that we find attractive about the VGo, which makes perfect sense to me. These same two characteristics basically define most pv's so do you also take issue with all models other than what you chose? I can't believe a simple review thread of a new model generated a whole page of negativity. You're certainly entitled to your opinion but at least try to make a valid point instead of just being contrary.

NCC, fwiw, not all models have the end led. Mine does not.

I've had several Ego Knock-offs and that was always an issue. The finish looks great for a couple of months and then it starts to head south. For the 40 buck sale price, I'll stick with a genuine Ego instead

Now that's a valid point. Mine is still new but hope that doesn't happen.

I have bought some 34+ JSB Vgo sets in the last 2 months, most of which were distributed to friends and family. Not one of them had a sticky button. I pulled each battery and tested the buttons since I did have an experience with a sticky button on an Xpower (albeit it was originally a 'test unit' and won as a prize with no warranty). Still, that's a lot of JSB Vgos and none have had issues with paint or buttons or charging. I'd say that's a pretty good record.

Joye came out with the "eGo". The size, shape and larger battery size became popular, so many of the other e-cig companies in China started making their own versions, often imitating the original (Riva, etc). It just so happens they have an odd culture on naming over in China, one I don't quite understand. Instead of always making a new name, they cop the already popular name. But this is like saying if Ford created the Model A car, all cars are Model As. Pretty much if it has 4 wheels and a steering wheel it must be a Model A, no matter the maker. The same nomenclature goes for Vgo as many China makers are now calling their higher powered units. Often, you'll see their "ego" and "vgo" are interchangeable names using myriad pictures of styles and types. Though I tend to stay away from those types of distributors, it's not always a guarantee with every reseller.

Just do a search on "ego e-cigarette" and see what shows up. You'll find thousands of links to dozens of e-cigarettes, each slightly different, offering myriad battery sizes and mAh, shapes and connector/fittings. Then ask yourself, "who's is better?". You'll never know until you've tried them all.

Yes, we understand that Joye makes the original eGo. But I'll have to say that when the Model A came out it was a huge success. Same with the Joye eGo. However, would I buy a Model A today to drive back and forth to work, to drop the kids off at school, to do my shopping in, to drive all winter long in 2 feet of snow and ice and rainy days? Probably not unless I was really nostalgic. I would, however, buy the newer "Model A" that came with heated seats, an actual roof, heater, window wipers/washers, rack and pinion steering, a nice modern engine and all the other modern amenities. I'd buy the "Model A" made by someone (maybe) else with all the latest, greatest things in it.

Thanks, Whiskey.
And for the record, I'm not saying that all knock-offs are created equal. Many are cheaper versions made with cheaper parts created to look like/imitate the original. Though I'm not for that, many newer innovations have come from it.

Some folks may like the light on the end of their e-cig, others may not. Some may like the soft silicone buttons or their shapes or the diamonds or the jewels or their cones to screw on or push on or... you get the idea.

The point is the e-cigarette is constantly evolving. Who knows, maybe a year from now the Boge Leo connection will become standard and the 510 passe. You want a decent e-cigarette, buy from a decent vendor who'll back up what they sell.
