Hello all,

After lurking the forum for a weeks I decided on the VK. This is my first pv, so I'm learning. I ordered the PCC starter kit and a few extra carts and I'm excited to say the least. Just received my order and I'm noticing that the battery only grabs the first few threads of the cart, leaving a 1/8 or so gap between the cart and the battery. Any more twisting of the cart and I'm worried I'm going to damage the threads. Is this normal? I see the vent notches which keep the airflow through the cart and it seems like the rest should be flush. I've tried a few different carts and they all have the same problem, but the battery screws in fine to my PCC threads.

I'm also assuming that I should let the battery have its initial 8 hour charge, ya? Is there any documentation anywhere on what the PCC status lights mean?

Thanks for entertaining my noobness, didn't see any threads with people having similar problems.

On the PCC, the light furthest from the battery connector will stay red during charging, then either turn green or go out completely when fully charged(cant remember off hand)

The light closest to battery will stay red while charging your VK battery, and go off when fully charged.

As far as the threads, I have not noticed this. The cart should "....-up" to the battery. I see no gap in mine aside from the notches.

Also, there are only 2 threads(that I can see) on the battery itself.
Do you get way too much air (and not much vapor) when taking a pull off of the VK?

Do you have auto or manual batteries? I have a small gap on my manual batteries not 1/8th of an inch though. The auto batteries seem to screw right up to the cart though. Does it seem to be vaping well for you?

And welcome to the family! :D

I have a manual battery and I did pull the plug from the cart ;P

I does seem like I get a lot of air and not a whole lot of vapor. Sounds like my battery threads may be the culprit. Any ideas?

It might be the cartomizer. Try a different cart and see if it fits. I you have a PT, try to put the cart in there. I know I have a couple of carts that do not fit on my manual batts but fit properly on the PT. I think I might have left those carts in the car under a hot Texas sun or something.

there's a little insulator between the center post and the threads (you cant see it likely) and it's springy squishy material, synthetic rubber or silicone.
when brand new, and especially with the new manual batteries, it holds the center conductor higher than you'd usually expect for a good fit.
you *can* wrench the cartomizer down and mash it into position..and shouldnt have any ill effects from it..i typically stop when i meet good stiff resistance and if theyre seated great ,and if not great, as long as it works...eventually wear will squish that rubber o-ring thingie to it's proper seating depth..but there is no reason not to twist it down to flush, it's designed to do so.

I just sent V4L a message about this as I received an order today and was experiencing the same issue. Steve just wrote me and offered to replace it. What a guy.
But I took the kcOcmp's advice and *wrenched* it on there. He was right.
Some of the new manual batteries can be a little tighter and require some heavy to get cinched down real good.
But it's vaping like a champ now.
Thanks.

Out of the coffee, cappuccino, RY4, and french pipe, surprisingly I'm liking the french pipe the most :D

The french pipe is very soothing I find. It is my favorite of the tobacco flavors. Did you get your problem sorted? So far all of my manuals have been right on the money for the 5 second cut off, so maybe you got an iffy one. Or try recharging it again and see if it starts working right. I had one battery acting funny and was going to toss it but recharged it and it has been behaving...
