Copying my post over from the Q-class thread......
Yihi just posted on facebook that the new SXPure wire setting relates to a new Yihi atomizer, yeah yeah old news I know but....

"Yes, we will release our own Atomizer. Revolutionary atomizer. No Coil, support Temperature control and variable voltage, one coil can use at least 3 months"

Sounds like they are doing their own version of the Altus, could be good, very good indeed!

Sounds interesting but 3 months, what will I do with all the time I have to build coils now.:thumb:

Sorry if i wasn't being a little clearer.

I updated my SX MINI ML before the 10th of January Logo changer patch wad released.

Everything was working as planned.

However, it was after the update that I noticed that the battery no longer shows the lightning symbol when the mod is plugged in to a wall charger.

Only the C1, C2 section on the lower left hand side of the screen will show a small plugged in symbol.

Anyway, that's besides the point since i don't charge my mod through the USB and it was only an accidental discovery.

So anyway, I came back home from a Vacation and decided to updatemy ML class only to get the USB device NOT RECOGNIZED error pop up.

It's the usual CODE 43 error and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling my USB drivers, changed 6 different types of cables, plugged it in on Windows 7, 8 and 10 and none of the online remedies seemed to work.

I also did the famous battery removal technique and none of them worked.

Windows just doesn't recognize the ML class. It's not even the SXI-Q that's going wonky this time.

I legitely believe that a certain component on the SX350J-V2 board might have fried. Beats me as I've never dropped the mod and have been using my M class more than my ML.

I know some people have said they had the lightening bolt on their ML but I never did. I always had just the plugged in symbol. I had a nightmare with getting mine to say connected too. I finally skipped that part and did the upgrade and everything went well. It got me to thinking that if you've done one upgrade before that you don't need to do the connection window anymore.

I don't know if anyone ever said they had the lightning bolt but I did question it earlier on and found no one had it with factory firmware. I just updated my response to reflect that.

Yeah I remember one person in this thread that claimed his lightening bolt disappeared but he also had a M class and I figured he was remembering the lightening bolt from the M and not the ML.

Right folks I'm seriously hovering over the buy button on a black and silver Ml. It's a choice between this and a vaporshark dna200 (iffy build quality) and a wismec reuleaux dna200 (lost its appeal seeing it sold for so little with the rx200 chip in) not keen on any other dna200 mods all seem a bit cheap.

So do you recon I'm making the right choice, help a Fellow Vaper out here!
Step away from the DNA

If I didn't have 5 m's 2 brand new I would jump on the ML if I had no M's and otherwise I would get the RX. The DNA has problems (don't send me any hate mail DNA lovers) but I just don't like anything DNA. I can get one of my new M's changed over to an ML for 100 bucks including the chip.

You would probably like the ML board, if you decide to get one replaced you could make me a deal on your removed board. :)

@2legsshrt you know how much I like my M class with all my posts about it, but within the last few weeks I have received and been using my Reuleaux DNA200 and feel it is a fine product. It is a different product than the Yihi mods and has a different place in my collection and for different purposes. I take my M class to work with me everyday and enjoy a terrific experience. At night I find myself using the DNA200 as I am close to my computer and like to experiment with Device Monitor in real time performance. It helps with fine tuning my wicking, builds, etc. They are both fine quality products, but different and I enjoy each of them. If Yihi would have a real time like software, I would probably jump all over it.

After all these threads and owning various TC devices, I still don't see the attraction. Seems like a lot of technical mumbo jumbo to avoid getting a dry hit. I learned real quick when to detect an upcoming dry hit in my rda's. When using a tank, it's as simple as looking through the glass. I just don't get the warmth I desire from a TC build. But it is very interesting to see how far vaping has come and the technology that's now available. I'm just at the point that if a mod has TC, it's an added bonus. If not, no big loss.

Hmmm ok, there's lots of surface area to heat

Have to consult with my heat flux expert @cigatron to see how many watts I will need to get this baby cooking

No probs, just need to know the mm^2 of surface area being heated. It's hard to tell from the pics how much of the surface area is actually in contact with the wick too. A lot of power can be lost there.
Interesting design though there is one aspect of it that I have never cared for, the wick-to-tank interference design. It's Protank-ish and may suffer from the same flaw ie inhibited air movement into the tank once ejuice particulates begin to collect in the wick.
Hail me when you determine the surface area of the heating elements.

Was thinking the same thing at first glance. But looking at the last photo the blanks are hollowed out in the center so while still a lot of surface area not as much as I originally had thought.

Why would we need tc if it has no coil?

There's still a heating element to provide heat to the wick and in turn vaporize the e-liquid. Without controlling the applied power to that element it would be like turning on a oven at maximum temperature every time.

It's not just about dry hits. With TC, you get a constant and consistent Vape temperature.
