Hey Jim you should mail YiHi and ask them for a little money for helping us computer somewhat illiterate people out.
Ha ha, maybe I should but it is one of the things I do at work managing just about every type of computer system out there. Back in the Windows 3.11 days I personally remotely managed 16,000 PC's and a few hundred servers and every file on each one of them all over the US with processes I developed to maintain and standardize them all. Things have changed quite a bit since then with lots of new tools, but the concepts are the same.

The file is in the System32 file as it was before. Not sure how it got there in the first place. Now this is for Win10X64 correct?
Yes, correct. They have a similar file named COPY_MSVCR110D.BAT in their x64 directory which I would ASSume needs to be done for those who have a 32bit OS.

Memories, memories... back in the day we used to have to do everything in MS DOS (before Windows).... glad those days are gone....

Company I worked a bit for only had about 2000 computers to manage in one building with about 400 remote computers, mostly on drilling sites and we built our own computers in house (sourced the parts). Only 5 folks in the IT division with one network specialist under contract.

Our tinkering skills still come in handy in this early stage of TC vaping. There is still a long way to go in this area before we get to plug and play and Yihi does need a helping hand in their installation game. Right now we are in the Plug and Pray stage. lol

Plug and play is what I'm after... simple and fiddle free....getting closer...

Had a bit of hands on now (a few hours) with the ML. I noticed in the SXi software that one cannot switch between "advanced" and "novice" mode (unless I missed something). I like to vape Kanthal in watts mode sometimes and will vary the wattage up/down throughout the day. I would like to be able to set up a configuration (say C-3) where it would be in novice mode, 26 watts, in watts mode, and that way I could vary manually the wattage with the up/down buttons. If that can already be done.... teach me....if not maybe Yihi could possibly add this feature: Configurations can be designated either as novice or advanced mode. With that thought I'm gonna lay these old bones down for a few hours...

For several months now I only vape using TC. Yeah, I know some may say I am missing out and this TC stuff is just fluff. But that is the way I roll and want to make this techno stuff work because I do believe it is the way of the future. With that being said, once I set my Wattage or Joules when using TC, I rarely need to change it since I always have it setup to give enough power to reach temperature with a little cushion above that. So I don't really need a power up/down function right at my fingertips as long as it is available on the menu.

What I change much more often is the temperature. With the Yihi and DNA boards you have to go into the menu to change that and that means well over a dozen clicks to adjust temperature. It would be so nice if the up/down buttons would just allow you to adjust temperature or at least provide a menu or even a software option to give you the ability to make those buttons work that way. My eVic VTC works that way and it is so easy to adjust temp with a single button click to go up or down in temperature. Maybe the Joyetech, Evolve, and Yihi folks could trade a few folks to provide the best of all worlds. Probably not, so that is why we all have so many mods and attys.

Ok, I have been want to rant that one for a while and now I got it out. Anyone else feel that way?

When in Advanced mode the Up / Down buttons are first used for Mx location and Preset mode then for adjustments "Adj"
Advanced mode: UP > Down "Adj"
UP or Down to adjust

When in Novice mode you lose access to M locations and Preset mode so the Up/Down button can be used for adjustments without the option of selecting the M locations or Presets.
Novice mode:
UP or Down to adjust

You know once setup I typically don't adjust either temp or power settings very often. I do go through the different presets though, if the vape is feeling a little light I'll bump it to Powerful or Powerful+ if it's a little to harsh I'll go to Soft etc.. But I get what your saying, if the device is being used in Temp Limiting mode then Temp setting should be the primary adjustment and easy to access. If the device is being used in Power mode then Power setting should be the primary adjustment and easy to access.

I wonder why they replaced the joules meter with the TCR while using the manual TCR. I really liked having the joules meter

Sent from my iPhone

Cause someone had tickets for the theatre but was made to do overtime when that decision was made ;)

I guess I don't understand you had a file with exactly the same name in your system 32 file? did you replace it with the one from YiHi it gives me the choice to overwrite it leave it alone and skip it.

Mine was named differently in system 32

That's why I had to copy the file

If you have it already and named the same your ok to go

Because that is the Chinese version of the Microsoft dll that opens up TCP port 43214 so the Chinese government can visit your hard drive without your knowledge. Could it be just so they can provide easier technical support and be able to see your files on your HD and your screens? Does this make you wonder when installing Chinese software on your PC?

Well I am only kidding! But maybe not so far fetched. You will need this file to make the SXi_Q software work. If you run the BAT file it will do the whole process.

Edit: You must run this from the proper directory of either x64 or x86 install directory depending on your OS and it must be an Admin Command Prompt otherwise your file copy will be denied by your OS.

:headbang: :matrix:

LOL what you like Jim

Its a bit far fetched I know but was wondering about that file being written in 2012 for windows 7 :w00t:

+1 on your General TC Monologue (and salute to the Evic VTC mini)
I am a reformed Dark-Ages TC Naysayer and atone for my former Sins of Vape Ignorance nd Stupidity daily (by firing-up one of my many TC APV/RTA Rigs like a starving rabid Rat on a wheel of aged Gouda as often as possible and loving it :D)

On another note,,, Windows 3.1  Day-ummm. Seems like an eternity since dem days. Showing your age there my Brother. Then again, I remember fiddling with Cobol on Green-Screens & learning basic Cad/Cam Programming on an old P.O.S. 2nd-Gen Apple... Still anti-Apple till this day from the emotional scarring of that wretched experience.
I can still remember the day we installed Windows 95 at work (and subsequently/somehow a copy made it to the house Computer too ;))...
Was a glorious day indeed.

Yep, two sides to the coin... Some want up/down buttons to adjust temp and some want them to adjust wattage... why not options for both?
