I bought my Bellus on a black Friday sale. I had been using a subtank rba for a while and decided to just buy a tank that was made to rebuild.

It is easy to build, as I like single coils. Started with nickel, then when the eVic got the ss update, I switched to ss. Right now I'm running a 2.5 mm coil that is reading 1.35 ohms. 12 watts @ 400° is making me feel pretty satisfied atm.

It was / is a little frustrating to wick occasionally, but not terrible. I just got an aromamizer, and it is really easy to wick, but I'm liking the Bellus more. Maybe it's because I haven't tried to put a single coil in it yet, Idk.

On the advise given a few pages back, I swapped out my 2.5mm ID duals for 2mm ID duals last night.

This has opened up the in-chamber airflow somewhat and is a definite improvement for me.

I went from:

28g, 5 wraps, 2.5mm ID, 0.5ohms

To

26g, 5 wraps, 2mm ID, 0.27ohms

The heatflux of these two coils is very similar, but with the 26g I'm getting more vapour and less heat at 33 watts.

It's now very close to a perfect vape (IMO). Very happy :)

God, great call on the 2mm coil. Was using a 2.5 (my standard) and was getting an ok vape. 2mm 8 wrap 26 awg has been a game changer with this arty.
Going to build mine this weekend and am going to shoot for this build also... looking forward to it! Thanks all.

Managed to get some parallels in the Bellus, think it was 11 wraps of 28g n80 on a 2.5mm bit. Comes in a .2 and have had zero wicking issues, I use the Scottish roll method and man it has never let me down so far. Not the cleanest build but was surprised it fit!

Got my Bellus.. did a 2mm coil, 26 g kanthal, 8-9 wraps coming out to 1 ohm.

Running Bellus in single coil with about 1/4 airflow (would prefer less).

Running 100% VG Miss Samoa (it's a thick juice!).

Getting dry hits like a mug. Pic of build and wick below. Any suggestions is appreciated.

Gee, I was going to say the coil looks to high. Remove the AC ring and see just how high and how close it is to the air slit. I doubt though if that's the cause of the dry hits, try shorting the wick tails.
Oh what happened to the ceramic piece that goes on top of the single coil block?

It might have fallen off when I pulled the deck, did it in a hurry this morn to get the pics.

How high and how close to slit should it be? I'll shorten the wick tails also.

** Edit - I see your post on placement... i'll double check when get to the house.

I doubt if that ceramic piece makes any real difference, perhaps it protects the silicone part.

for position, when I mount coils, I try and get them as close to the posts as possiblew (ie, short legs) and height wise, the top of the coil is slightly below the post screws.

When looking through the airhole with the AFC ring removed, I don't see my coil (it's just above)...although I've had successful builds when i was able to see the bottom 1/4 of the coil through the hole

IMO,,, the Coil looks Low.
Also, 2mm is a tad small for the ID which requires more surgical and "ideal" Wicking to get just right between flooding and dry-hit. The more narrow Wick-Coil passage does have a distinctly higher propensity to both Dry-Hit and use the Wicking inside up prematurely/quicker.
Try a 2.38mm (3/32") Bit.
Your Wicking doesn't look too long to me at all on the Right Wick. The Left Wick does unless it has been thinned and trimmed much more than the Wick Body up on the Deck Step.
Again, I think the smaller Coil ID is choking it down and the main Culprit in your Dry Hitting.
Too low of a Coil will just reduce the Vapor & Flavor production by running the RTA too "rich". That won't cause a Dry-Hit situation.
Raise it to where the Coil center is even with the top of the AFC holes.

I run 2 Bellus Ti-built as described above and NEVER any Issues with Flooding or Dry-Hits of prematurely burnt-out Cotton requiring too frequent re-builds/re-wicking.

Definitely been dropped/fumbled by the look of all the Juice residue on top of your Post Screws and Single Coil Block/Spacer.

Got my bellus in couple days ago, threw a quick dual coil build in it, and dumped probably 15ml of juice all over my hand, atty, & mod as it was leaking like a MF'er. Ready to chuck it.

Rebuilt it this morning, paying very close attention to coil placement and wicking (been using rayon in all my attys). Wrapped dual 2.5mm kanthal 26 at .5 ohms, positioned in center of ADV slot as close as possible to deck, with wick halfway down juice channel.

Now have absolutely no leaking, & a good vape. But disappointingly, not as good as a single coil in my Avocado rta. This Bellus atty requires surgical building, not my usual rushed "that'll do" builds. Next build think I'll go 2mm ID, perhaps raise it slightly above ADV for greater airflow, more flavor.
