All this Bellus chatter is making me feel like I should break mine back out for old times sake.;)
Damm straight you should!! Both of mine are pumping hot-n-heavy after several months' hiatus.

Just rewicked and loaded some new-try DIY juice. The suck-n-twist trick still works beautifully; just spin open the AFC ring during the initial firing and drawing. And not a micro-drop was spilled. Flavor bliss.

I should note that you don't need to pull a hard vacuum for this, just a gentle continuous draw works fine. We don't want to exacerbate the initial wet-hit behavior, after all.

Today's Bellus Tale, part 2:

I cleaned and rewicked my 2nd Bellus, so I could load up a new original DIY mix I've been eager to try (for the curious, it's Crunchy PB & Grape J Sandwich). Hurrying, I cut the wicks a little shorter than I wanted, so I used them to pull the coils down a tad so the ends would sit better in the wells.

Though I'd dry-mounted the tank top and checked the resistance on my mod, after the juice went in the ohms dropped from 0.26 to 0.09. I tried adjusting the pin and screwing the atomizer on and off a couple times, but no joy...and a bit of juice started seeping from the closed AFC while I fiddled around.

I then turned the tank over and dismounted the base, so I could tweezer the coils a hair higher and closer to the posts. After nudging the wet wick ends back where they belong, I reassembled and wiped off the seepage. With readings back to normal, and knowing things were a little sloppy behind the closed AFC ring, I pressed the button and took a nice drag while twisting the AFC wide open...

...and Suck-n-Twist comes through again! Me and Bellus are high and dry, and clouding up the sky. :thumb:

Just did it again! With a few mm of visible liquid in the glass: AFC closed, uncap, fill'er up...oops! Mop a little overflow with napkin, cap back on, then...fire and draw while twisting the AFC ring until the air swoops in. Perfect.

I'm naming this "The Suck-and-Twist Maneuver." Haha, man00ver...get it? :)

OK that was bad.
Another technical note: any more than a LITTLE overflow when filling, and Suck-n-Twist will not save you. It should go without saying, but if you flood your Bellus deck, it WILL come out the airholes. I had just a tiny bit too much liquid left in my squeeze bottle last night, but thought I would get it all in the tank...wrong. A healthy dollop flowed out the 2nd fill port and rolled right down the rifled barrel. When the cap went on, it promptly reappeared and soiled the mod.

The good news is, after a little mop-up (and 3-4 disgustingly moist hits after the Suck-n-Twist), the trauma was over, and the full tank stood up dry overnight.

I just received two of these today in vape mail, via the efun.top sale. Very interested in reading everyone's tips! Thanks for this thread, Man00ver!
Welcome to the club! Let us know how it goes for you....
(I won't even say the first mistake I made; you'll all lose all respect for me )
Doubtful! This was my FIRST RTA, so I can't imagine anyone could have goofed it up as many times. If I were to guess...you tried it with a single coil, but forgot to install the adapter plug?

I'd bet everyone does that at least once....

Ooh, I did that too! I was ready to toss the leaky thing against the wall. Then I realized my folly. And then I couldn't fit the adapter plug in and almost tossed it against the wall. That's when I noticed the little dimple spot to hold the adapter was under the coil I already mounted.

After all that, great tank!
