Open top, fill, close top, vape. No closing of the AFC and no inversion is necessary.

You see the line/ledge in between your two wicks? That should be the cutoff for your wicks. This doesn't need long tails at all. I did that one time and it was nothing but dry hits. There's a little shelf where the wicks should sit. Fat, short wicks have worked perfectly for me.

Agreed. That's a lot of wick. Looks like it's laid over the channels instead of placed in them.

I know it is a lot of wick but it still leaks!!
Tonight i'll try short fat wick and we'll see if it's better[emoji23][emoji23]
I really hope it'll work cause i love how it vapes!!

I do have a thin tail going to the bottom of the channels in mine. Its worked perfectly for me so I haven't changed anything.



I'm using a 50/50 juice at 50W.

If I had to guess, maybe you're getting leaks because you have an excess of cotton? Maybe your cotton is just super wet. No idea.

For me, learning to wick this was a PITA. Too short and it leaks, too long and it's dry hits, wicks too fat can get a gurgle on a refill, wicks too thin can get a leak on a refill.

I've pretty much mastered it with short wicks, but I always get a very small gurgle after a refill. Only lasts for about 2-3 pulls. Never enough to pour out of the AFC. Personally, I prefer this way. Hope you get it set up to your liking!

Roxy, I love that description. If my builds aren't crackling, I'm tearing it out and rebuilding. It seems when it's crackling, it's perfect. No crackling it's too dry or wet. And if it's popping and spitting no good either!!

Petabread, I get the same small gurgle after I top fill. It's not bad though, and it's managable. The vape is perfect after those 2-3 hits. but I bottom fill for the most part, to avoid that issue completely

Filippo, if it's working for you, that's great, but I can't believe you get no dry or slightly harsh hits off that. I bet if you trim up and go short wicks the vape density and flavor will be significantly improved, and you will be able to push more power. What's your build?

Thin tails in the channel and thick on top. The higher VG, the thinner/shorter the tails. I've had Erlkonigins for a long time and that's the way I wick those.
