Thanks everyone guys!!
Updates on my case[emoji23][emoji23]

I completely disassembled and washed the bellus, replaced all of the orings, and did a new build!
Instead of my usually 2.5 id I lowered it to 2mm 26g 10wraps.
Simple build and I wicked thick untill almost the bottom of the juice channels.

Now airflow is spot on, flavor ok, vapor the same it is working good!
It leaks way less than before on top refill
It is annoying but is acceptable i guess!
Mission halfway accomplished [emoji23][emoji23]
I'll keep experimenting though!!

It was 28/32 at 2mm 6 wrap. (I couldn't fit the 2nd coil though the posts with anything larger, and still had troubles getting the 2nd pulled through). Also had to test fit and fiddle to fit into the chamber. When I take off the airflow ring, I can see only the bottom quarter of the coil. When wicked, I also check to make sure wick isn't blocking any part of the air flow. If it is, I just poke it back away from the airflow.

One slight con I've found, is that in low light it's difficult to see how open the AFC is. It's not a big deal as I'm sure most people just keep it wide open anyway.
I adjusted the coils so they were more directly in the airflow (had them just above the slots before), and trimmed my wicks so they just covered the top of the juice channels, and I got much better performance. Being able to access the deck without dis-assembly is a massive plus.

I experimented with the coil placement today too. I've had them in the direct line of the airflow with the wicks just about 1/3 into the channels for the last two weeks. Today I raised the coils up so you can only see a little of the bottom and I lengthened the tails to about 3/4 into the channel. The flavor decreased by a fair amount from this. I'll be going back to the former very soon.

Fixed mine today, half a millimetre make a such a difference. After lapping half a millimetre from the base of the tank section I expected to have to make the two slots deeper and lap the locking ring also, but none of this was required. While this was definitely a fault in the unit, it's fortunate the fault was a simple one to fix and has made the slop in the air flow ring far tighter.

Now that I understand how it's supposed to operate I'm also beginning to understand the wicking challenge a lot better. Thanks to all those picks with the very short wicks I also now understand that the design is a little flawed too.

If anyone else has seen how the Kayfun 4 deck has a screw down surround and an o-ring which fits neatly into the chimney... This would have been a better, not to mention easier to manage, solution.

On the upside, it wicks well, hasn't leaked yet and is producing 60W of cloudy goodness which is making the three youde tanks sitting on the bench seem positively anemic!

I'm on the higher coil placement and am very happy with the flavor.

Yes, it does make a difference. I rebuilt one of mine, lowering the resistance a tad and raising the coil and the flavor was more of what I was expecting. Not that I wasn't getting plenty of flavor, it was just the wrong flavor ;) Raising the coil, and the flavor became what I knew the juice to be.

I recently got the black Bellus as my first RTA. I do have the Subtank Mini with an RBA but it was a pain to work with. I like the Bellus so much better. The only leaking issue I had was the first time I assembled it, I put in a single coil and forgot to put in the plug for the second coil area, totally my fault. I was excited and rushing hehe. No leaks and I keep my iStick laying down all night. Also refilling has never been an issue when opening or closing the AFC.

I was amazed at how easy it was to coil and wick. The only thing I am not seeing is the flavor that many brag about, but that may just be vapor's tongue. Perhaps I need to play with my coil position to get more flavor. My next project is building a dual coil setup. But for now, I am enjoying it just in single coil mode.
